The specificity of this review is great. You describe the mechanics that you like and explain why you like them. That is really a great attribute in a review. Too many reviews pretty much sum it up as, "It looks beautiful and is fun."
I love this game, I have the expansion, too. The one big draw back is that, this is all we’re going to get since Chad Jensen passed in 2019. I would have loved a western front, or, especially, a North Africa. VanNortwick finished Battle for Kharkov due to Jensen’s cancer, but I seriously doubt we’ll see more, shame.
Sorry for the very late response, but Fighting Formations: US 29th Infantry Division is at the printers now and still available to preorder at P500 price.
Thanks for another good review! I really liked the order and combat system, but found the "map part" to be broken - with so large movement allowances tank units wete dancing around the enemies...
@@ALimbOfGreatTree From what I recall the reaction fire was quite problematic - once I got my armour split and got enemy to "spent" his units it was easy to flank them at point blank range and destroy them. Wasn't too much of a problem with infantry, but I remember issues with armour.
@@przemekbozek not sure about the exact situation but yes, armour overrun is dangerous. Also, most units can pivot as op fire to avoid flanking. Maybe your opponent was op firing too early?

Chad knew how to make a Rulebook.
I also liked the orders system.
The playbook was great.
My one concern was the length it took me to play through a scenario. You probably have the most plays than most.
The expansion has a lot more smaller scenarios - really enjoyed those too

Not broken at all. The movements make sense as different units pay different terrain costs.

I'm gonna try and get this
You have sold me on the game, sir. A good thing ...
because I already own the base game + expansion!
