I have had my Randall since 1970. Carried it through Southeast Asia. It's stayed with me through all my Army tours. I still have it and I still love it, Randall is a great company! Anyone who finds himself in the Orlando area and is a knife lover should visit their shop it's great
Randall's are true works of art, each one. I still have the one I acquired back in 1966, plus the one I inherited from my late, dear FIL. They will be passed on to my son, who cherishes them, as well...
I seen your video and it reminded me I have had a Randall model 2-6 on order for some time. Looked up my invoice , dated 2-2016 . I hope to be hearing form Randall soon. Good video thank you.
Your excitement at finaly recieving your Randall fighting stilleto is palpable what a beautifull knife to own. Had a listen to the Guy Clark song about his Dads Randall sums up the reverance and status of the Randall k ife today.
The coolest thing about this is that you and your father actually used these knives. Few things sadder than a Ferrari that never gets driven, a masterpiece like a Randall is made to be used.
What a great video and thank you for sharing your journey. I just received my Randall 2-7 yesterday! So I know exactly how you felt opening that wrapping for the first time...
I was listening to the radio and heard an old song about a Randall knife so I went to U tube. Just checked you out first, thoually enjoyed it. I appreciate all kinds of knives. Hopefully some day, just can't afford it right now. Thanks
I have a Model 1, 2 and a 14. it is a start. my model 14 I had made, took 5 years but worth the wait. best made knife I have ever had. I have had offers for my model 2 which is Vietnam era, had offers well into the 3k range. not for sale...
I have that same knife My father gave it to me. Mr Randall gave it to my father Aver he helped him do some carpentry work on his house Mr Randall lived right across the street from him Also he put my dad's name on it My dad use to take me and my brothers to that little shop on the trail With all the knives in it.
Sadly time doesn’t always works in our favor. I ordered mine in 2014 too model 12-9 14 grind, highly customized. At the end I had to decline it, could no longer afford it, not even got to see it, but I guess that was my journey. Amazing knives nonetheless.
Beautiful blade my friend I went with the model 2-8 with double nickel guard and stag handle took about 4 1/2 yrs to arrive and yes the wait time is part of the mystique to owning a Randall Made Knife Thanx great vid
Bo! Happy for you and your family. Seems like your Dad turned you on to something awesome. Hope you get to pass it on down the line as well. God bless, bro.
Wow. Nice Randall collection. Nice Jimmy Lyle knife also. Hardly nobody has a Jimmy Lyle knife. I'm in Kentucky close to Gil Hibben's shop but I still haven't bought one of his either. But I found a Randall Made Model 16 at a pawnshop in Louisville for $600 last week. You can also purchase Randall Made knives at the SOS gunshows. There's always a nice selection at those shows. Thanks for your time.
I’m an older guy myself, and wouldn’t go for a 5 -6 yr wait. I sent them a message online saying they should consider wait periods based on age, making younger guys wait longer, in a tiered fashion. 18-40, 5 yrs, 41-50, 3 yrs, 51-60, 1yr, and 61+ no wait. Just my two cents on that waiting period thing. BTW I got a Jimmy Lile in the 80’s and broke it about an inch back from the tip. Bet a Randall model 18 wouldn’t have broken.
A beautiful knife you got there, absolutely fantastic. And that Arkansas Toothpick looks like heaven itself, but a deadly one:-)) How much will a Tothpick like that cost and do they ship to Norway you think?
Thank you for your comments. The Arkansas toothpick with all the customization was around $1,000 USD. I’m not sure if Randall ships overseas but more then likely they do. They are very helpful and nice if you give them a call. Thanks again 👍🏻
@@WhiskeySharpShooter thank's for the answer👍🔪that is not a bad for such a beautiful thing of joy😁 why is there 5 years in waiting time. Are they overbooked in waiting orders?
Morten Trolle it’s a family run operation and haven’t expanded and i assume want to keep it as a small business but the knives are very popular so the orders have gone up through the years. My father waited 6 months in the 80’s and now I’m waiting almost 6 years! It’s crazy but it’s worth the wait.
can you please do a show on the RANDALL MODEL 12 BEAR BOWIE ?? i think it might be THE most perfect and simply beautiful knife design EVER !!thanks for your great work
5 YEARS?! Why does it take so long? I've always had a special place in my heart for Randall knives. I dont own any but after watching this wonderful video I think I may have to pull the trigger in one now. I absolutely LOVE that model 2! My jaw hit the floor when you finally unwrapped her. And is still agape as I write this. Lol. I just subscribed too. A very well spoken and edited video.🙏 great history of your collection also. Looking forward to more of your work. I also have a channel with knife and Japanese katana reviews and cutting demos. So in these times of being quarantined if you want to pass some time I would love for you to check out my channel. And if you like what I'm about I would be honored if you subbed and left a comment or two to tell me what you think. Us small RUclipsrs need to support each other for sure.
They are hand made knives, read the history they have been behind in production since 1953. This guy claims his dad got them in 6 months? That's curious because the wait was nearly 3 and half years back then.
@@eac1235 thanks for the reply. I was just looking at the website earlier today. Lol. I am gonna order model 5 with a 7" blade. My brother is in the military and he is gonna order it for me. I guess it only takes 4 months or so for delivery if your in the military
@@MovieGuy666 If you knew anything at all about Randall or have ever been there(I have ) you wouldn't say that. They have been on a delay since the mid 50s . They receive hundreds of orders a week and have less than 25 people making knives. About 4 years ago they hired 5 more people and after 2 and half years they started showing their skills were up to par. Hey if you choose to believe it or not is on you .However before you make statements you should learn about the subject. I suggest randall madeknife.com . I know one thing they are the only company in business that have a 5 year wait and have no shortage of customers.
@@eac1235 A logical business move would be to stop taking new orders until the backlog is caught up to a reasonable amount of wait time. I'm not pretending to know everything about the company, but to have multiple year production times for fixed blade knives is a bit ridiculous. It is something most companies would have figured out in 60+ years.
that time is horrible. I wouldn't ordered from them until they got their act in order and actually invested into more technology. bad customer service.
Waiting that long for a knife is not worth it,I don't care about Randal and his name or Knives. When I need a knife I will use anything around me with sharp edge. I've waited 40 years for my jimmy lile rambo knife by V.Neeley. I finally bought one. It came 3 weeks ago

Very nice.
I have the Italian knockoff of this knife...I like it. I believe it to be a tad long for practical fighting but, a hell of a knife
What would the seratwd edges on the last knife be like for removing poly propylene net from a 6" steel tube, on a bale shredder?
Hoping to work my way up to a Randall.
Beautiful knives but ridiculous waiting times
AWSOME!!!
I’ll stick to the secondary market. I don’t know how anyone has patience to wait five years.
Year 2024 the price was $855.00 , Knife centre price
Nearest I've got is a S.O.G. 2.0 Bowie

Five year wait for a five hundred dollar knife???

Glad your pleased with that well made blade and with your name on it it's a very personal display piece I'm sure.
Congratulations pal.
5 years to make a knife is absurd
It is pronounced boo-ie knife not bow-ie like the singer.
