Nothing i have applied to these has managed to dissolve them. I will post video on my channel.

      Yes. Some scanning electron microscopes come with a nanomanipulator (a needle essentially that can be moved precisely) that could be used to poke graphene. At the same time you scan the images with SEM and watch almost in real time what happens to graphene as you stretch it.

They had graphene in their coffee. You can track to see where it goes. Where ppl are coming from to get a coffee from a shop that already exists. They use that data to see where to put up another shop. All big companies do this in most of the products they sell. They want to know what you’re buying. You ingest it and it leaves your system. • @CaptainCorrosion
      @CaptainCorrosion  6 лет назад +2

      Hello and thank you for the question. This certainly sounds like a topic for the future but organic samples can be troublesome for studying under a scanning electron microscope. They have to be dried to be suitable for vacuum and also made conductive by applying a thin platinum film on them. If the samples don't change their appearance during this process, then they might be interesting to study. Meanwhile you can check out our older video about salt and sugar under the scanning electron microscope ;)

    How do you remove this thing from the body?

    • @CaptainCorrosion
      @CaptainCorrosion  3 года назад +1

      It depends on the size of graphene particles and how it entered into the body. Small particles (less than 10 nm in diameter) would be removed rather quickly on their own when you go to the toilet.

    • @John-ek5bq
      @John-ek5bq 3 года назад

      @@CaptainCorrosion Much larger particles, size possibly in micrometer

    • @CaptainCorrosion
      @CaptainCorrosion  3 года назад +2

      @@John-ek5bq Well, graphene is chemically resistant and this makes it a bioinert material as it doesn't interact with the body. So it may simply accumulate like other bioinert materials and if the quantities are low, then it hardly matters. But then again, the long-term effect of graphene on the body is being certainly studied to minimize risks. Currently, the biggest danger lies in daily working with graphene like substances and inhaling it, which causes it to accumulate in the lungs and cause problems like with other fine dust like materials. But then again this isn't really comparable with short term exposure to a small quantity.

    • @John-ek5bq

      Do you know chemistry? Does it have a negative charge or a positive charge? Can it be taken out with a binder maybe?

    • @CaptainCorrosion
      @CaptainCorrosion  3 года назад +2

      @@John-ek5bq The thing is that there are countless versions of graphene-like compounds, that are developed for various applications, where the properties of graphene are modified accordingly. There are lots of scientific papers on that topic and I highly recommend reading those. Videos on RUclips are often biased and can mislead one in a really bad way, especially in the case of sensitive topics. Surely it is possible to give graphene toxic properties, which may be great for instance when developing antibacterial coatings. However, it is also possible to give graphene other beneficial properties and take advantage of its bioinert nature. Such research is done intensively on a daily basis, which results in countless of papers. Only ones specialized in the field can dig through the data and have necessary expertise and infrastructure to put it to good use. One of the main issues with graphene is the fact that its name is used to describe a very broad range of materials which may differ dramatically from each other. In any case, if you modify the chemically inert graphene-like substance with something else to make it more active in a specific process, then that modifier ultimately gets depleted or contaminated, which renders the particle again bioinert.
