11:40 You should definitely watch the movie. It's one of my favorite movies. 17:40 Same laws then and today. These kind of jokes are legal. It is even protected by artistic freedom. However, this freedom has its limits. It must be clearly recognizable as humorous art. Not everyone finds it funny, but this type of humor still exists today. 19:05 That's the problem. Young people have questions and although there are simple and good reasons, adults once again have no idea and say just "next one". To the question: Hard alcohol is also only available from the age of 18. Light alcohol such as beer is from the age of 16. In the presence and with the consent of a parent or guardian, beer can also be drunk from the age of 14. Young people drink anyway. But then it is illegal, which means that they are criminalized and in secret and therefore uncontrolled. Studies have shown that the early legal availability of light alcohol leads to a more responsible use of hard alcohol.

I don't think the chalkboard is electric, it just has a counterweight. At least I've never seen an electric one and it would be rather overkill. Both chalkboards move and there's bound to be a combination sponge/squeegee close by, one of those intended for window cleaning. Someone was skimping on maintenance, it seems. And I guess at least newer boards have at least two counterweights so there's not a single point of failure.
How would it go up on its own without being electric? At my first uni, every large lecture hall (housing hundreds of people, not tens) has these. Not sure about the latter uni I went to but that one is famously broke anyways.
@@MellonVegan You push it up. With the counterweight in place it has no weight of its own and moves quite freely, you can give it a nudge and it'll go to the very top.

Its a great comedy with actual substance and heart and has since become a trilogy. Recently it also recieved a spin off where 1 of the students gets isekaid into a fantasy world (just dotn question it)

7:40 Yes and no. The video you were watching was filmed at a uni (or Hochschule or Fachhochschule, all 3 are basically the same). Uni´s tend to be better equipped and those electric chalk boards are fairly common here. At my Uni (kit), every room where more than 100ppl fit inside has one of those, most of the time even 3 pairs, so in total 6 electrical chalk boards, because Profs write down A LOT. Schools on the other hand are most often badly equipped and still use overhead projectors. There is a big change to that, many schools, especially Gymnasiums and in southern and western germany get smartboards and or beamers, but still most school dont have them YET and other than that, there often is a lack of good and SECURE internet at schools, why most of the times you as a teacher cant even use those.
little hint: you can press the period . and comma , buttons (probably different on an american keyboard, just look it up) to go frame-by-frame on youtube. this is very good for catching quick cuts in vídeos
If you overtake someone on the right lane here in germany, you automatically have someone filming your license plate and going to the police with it. Its like a combo deal
So about the chalkboards: usually they're springloaded, and in schools, colleges or universities that aren't in a city that's heavily in debt they move really smoothly and keep moving for a bit after you stop pushing, that's probably why it looked like it was moving on its own. I assume one or both of the top springs broke, so it fell down, almost killing the professor
About recording people: You're right, technically you have to get consent from everyone, that can be identified through the footage you're creating. But often consent is implied. If someone is aware of the cameras and doesn't state they don't want to be filmed, it's safe to assume they're fine with it.
In general, filming someone in Germany in public for broadcast requires their consent if they’re the main focus. By agreeing to answer questions, the person might already be giving implied consent, but most broadcasters like ZDF still ask for a written release to cover privacy rights and ensure legal clarity.
The chalk board is only this good because it's a university. In primary and secondary school we only have dirty and broken chalk boards and overhead protectors
Common misconception. Guns arent illegal in germany. Basically everyone can get certain permits for ownership. It costs money though and involves a fair bit of learning.
Public filming isn't illegal at all in Germany as long as you don't film specific people or use it as a harassment. For the press it's allowed to use it "commercially" as long as the person isn't refusing it. For most other commercial usecases it isn't allowed to use it if a person or an art is seen on the picture.
That two chalk boards: There is a (two) roller on the top of the frame, while each board is tied to by a rope around the roller. So the one board is the counterweight to th other. You can shift one board up, wich lowers the other board. When the rope breaks, this is what you get.
11:40 no in all seriousness if you can make the time please watch that movie, it is awesome and really highlights the problems in our school system and finds a great balance between humor and the seriousness of the topic. I'm currently studying to become a teacher and 100% approve of it

Around 12:45 that is from a really epic documentary about a Penny supermarked at the Reeperbahn. Certainly a good source for a future reaction.

The salute Clip was making fun of how people will still respond with "Heil" out of reflex.
20:22 They only showed the text passage very short, so you might have missed it: the little burger tester died at the age of 14 from brain cancer. Every time I watch this clip I think about how profane the topic was that he referenced about, and shortly after he was gone. We all don’t know how much time we have left. I try to take this as a reminder to choose my topics wisely… she said in a comment under a RUclips reaction on funny German videos 😂🤦♀️🙈
6:00 There's also such a thing as implied permission. If someone points a camera at you and you pose or smile for a photo, that is generally interpreted as implied permission. That said, having been on TV once or twice, I expect them to have stacks of waivers with them for people to sign ^^
Then again, maybe that isn't necessary for impromptu interviews like that.
17:40 - if I remember correctly, the expected response was shock and (moderate) outrage. Having larger parts of the crowd reflexively react that way was... scary.
als ob, das ist karneval...
@@_G3M5_ Ja schon, aber die NS-Zeit ist das eine thema bei dem man sich halt etwas zurück halten sollte... etwas lachen musst ich zwar trotzdem, aber war halt auch lustig schockierend.
Yes, but the Nazi era is the ONE topic where you should hold back a little... I still had to laugh a bit, but it was also the shocking kinde of funny.
Da sieht man wie stark die Gehirnwäsche damals war.

Susanne Daubner was a news speaker at ARD public broadcast service. She got her pension now but she returned this year in 2024 to introduce the "Jugendwort des Jahres" Youth word of the Year again. Detlef Kleinert became famous after his drunk, but still eloquent speech. In a longer version you can see the people behind him - one of them the parliament's president - holding their breath to avoid bursting out in laughter.
Bit of this speech were shown in short TV breaks over and over on all German TV channels for at least at week then.
there cannot be a meme reaction video without drachenlord
7:35 This is not an electronic board, but a regular chalkboard in a university. The boards are suspended from a pulley with weights that are mounted on the left and right of the holder. The board is only moving here because the rope it hangs from is slowly tearing. Eventually, it brok completely, causing the board to fall down.
Him saying german words like that is hurting me but its so funny
Especially coming from a hired "expert" in drugs, either of the two's answers show how comically incompetent they were for their position.
@@Rio_1111 The second was not just an expert, but THE intended expert, namely Daniel Ludwig - the federal government's drug commissioner in office at the time. This sentence about cannabis and broccoli almost became a meme in Germany.

BAD MAINTENANCE!
Americans in one moment: Germans are so good at making different contraptions
Americans in the next one: You use an ELECTRIC chalkboard?
I mean it's still electric in the sense that it's lifted by motors. At least ours are and they look the same

Was ist denn mit dem Kombi los? 😂
7 vs Wild is actually amazing. There are 3 seasons out with about 15 episodes each, season 4 is coming out right now. It would probanly be too much for you to react to all of it, but maybe you can find some kind of summary/highlight video. I recommend season 2, in my opinion the best one. The show is probably the biggest production for youtube in europe, i would guess.
No don’t Watch it. The Concept is cool Even tho it’s nothing new.but this might be the Most boring survival Show in a Long Time
@@ReneHH91 well, i'd say watch it end draw your own conclusion. yes, there are parts that might be a bit boring, but thats because it is actually real and not scripted television.
18:00 He never said the full salute. The first word alone is perfectly legal.
Idk about Ryan but he seems very careful about beeing political correct which is quite annoying. I noticed his comments about Jörg where he tries not to compiment him to mich even tho he admired him a lot in his past

They definitely exist, we have a few at university in the larger rooms. Takes forever to get them up or down because they move so slow.
We have the non electric ones at our university too -but they aren't new or something 👀😅 I think we have those since the 70ies at least😅😅
How would it go up on its own without being electric?
At my first uni, every large lecture hall (housing hundreds of people, not tens) has these.
Not sure about the latter uni I went to but that one is famously broke anyways.
It is, there are buttons on the side. I've seen quite a few of them at universities.
@@MellonVegan You push it up. With the counterweight in place it has no weight of its own and moves quite freely, you can give it a nudge and it'll go to the very top.
17:04 I think the comedian was just up to testing the reflex of the crowd when shouting "Sieg..." and did not expect the outcome. It is not legal, but I guess it is like asking "What colour is snow?" White", "What colour is paper?" "White", "And what does a cow drink?" "Milk!"
Greetings from Germany😉
22:32 nope he was just drunk btw I‘m german just ask me questions
11:40 Its actualy a great movie.
No idea if the English dub is good or not but its a movie about an ex criminal who got arrested, one of his acompciles hid the diamonds he stole on a construction site without nowing that it would becoem the new sporthall for a school.
So the ex criminal after getting released form jail fakes some documents and goes as a teacher to the school. The school itself is overrun by many low life students that are jsut very rude, uneducated and also unmotivated, stupid and criminal.
Basically the ghetto.
At first the ex criminals goal is to secretly get the diamonds, but over time he geniounly starts to care for his students and tries to help them (in his own 'unique' way) and also stays their teacher. Its a great comedy with actual substance and heart and has since become a trilogy.
Recently it also recieved a spin off where 1 of the students gets isekaid into a fantasy world (just dotn question it)
7:40 those arent electric. there are counterweights in those pillars
Guns are not illegal in Germany. You are allowed to have civilian-grade firearms, but you're not allowed to have military-grade firearms, like sniper rifles and stuff like that.
22:41 I think he is drunk 😂
Edit: I guess i was right 😂
You can see 7 vs Wild right now, there is a season running right now. Its on RUclips. There will be 14 episodes and we are right now at 4. It is a very banger series, pretty much everyone watches it right now

Guns aren't illegal here. It's just heavily regulated. If you do all the paperwork and tests, you have access to one of the biggest gun markets in the world. Almost everything is legal here as long It's registered and not fully automatic.
From .22 to a 20mm. You can even own cannons.
The hardest part are the tests, routine checkups and paperwork.
The board was everything but electric 😂💀
14:29 In Germany Yolo is still used often by many teenagers since it basically means as much as “Yolo js do it” Like f it just do it. Me personally (I’m 15) I still use it many people do.
Me and my friends always say “jeder der immer noch Yolo sagt is cool” which means Everyone that still says yolo is cool.
"It’s a good thing that guns are illegal in Germany" probably isn’t a sentence you would here from Jörg Sprave 😂
"hear", but i struggle by myself often.
Jörg Sprave is a really dark rabbithole in a democratic Germany. All US and China social media apps legalize this content, because of money/ kapitalism
@ obviously hear :)
I completely agree with you!
A rabbithole you better not dive into
Nor from people who know what governments can do with their people.
Like Germany had 35 years ago btw... 😐
@@ItsNikoHIMself Thats is why there are independent courts in demokraties, guns can`t help you with that, the gouverment has more and lager ones.
7:35 The chalkboards are everywhere. We had them in school and now in uni too. But they're not electric. Just two regular ancient chalkboards. You can push them up because they have little wheels at their sides. You can even see them in the video. This electric stuff at the right side are probably the light switches for the overhead lights of the room.

laughing at the subtitle of the big tasty critic because he didnt read the part that said that he died at the age of 14 caused by brain cancer is just gold
It is a bit strange when he says that he knows the slingshot channel well and thinks Jörg is great, that he then does not know that weapons are not illegal in Germany.

16:54 the one about carnival is understandibly shocking, specially from an outside perspektive. the idea was to rally the croud and then shock them. he did not expect the people to awnser his call. he felled deeply ashamed afterwards

I watched it live. It brightened my day. Very sympathetic
As a German , I REALLY enjoyed this one 😂😂😂 Liebe grüße 🤟🏽😎
Me as a German love watching American reacts to German memes😂
19:33 😂😂 i love this meme “meine chicken Nuggets verbrennen!”
@6:58
This actually happend at my university at TUM Munich.
I know the guy and he will be our legend for ever
If you overtake someone on the right lane here in germany, you automatically have someone filming your license plate and going to the police with it. Its like a combo deal
So about the chalkboards: usually they're springloaded, and in schools, colleges or universities that aren't in a city that's heavily in debt they move really smoothly and keep moving for a bit after you stop pushing, that's probably why it looked like it was moving on its own. I assume one or both of the top springs broke, so it fell down, almost killing the professor
"That's too much to read." this, the definition of gendering. THIS. Thx. 🤣
About recording people: You're right, technically you have to get consent from everyone, that can be identified through the footage you're creating. But often consent is implied. If someone is aware of the cameras and doesn't state they don't want to be filmed, it's safe to assume they're fine with it.
its so funnny watching that as a german
I suppose the closest semi-public event regarding books in the US is a local spelling contest
In general, filming someone in Germany in public for broadcast requires their consent if they’re the main focus. By agreeing to answer questions, the person might already be giving implied consent, but most broadcasters like ZDF still ask for a written release to cover privacy rights and ensure legal clarity.
Hallo- Hello gets me every time
The chalk board is only this good because it's a university. In primary and secondary school we only have dirty and broken chalk boards and overhead protectors
17:40 its the people being drunk and the guy being comedian lol
fun fact: "geil" (we use it like "cool", i think you noticed) means actually h0rny
yeah we guys are mentally stable 👍
Germans are not stupid, 70% of Germans have a normal school leaving certificate which is recognized in the USA as a university degree😂
The first clip could be straight out of Idiocracy! "ow my balls!" lmao
That two chalk boards: There is a (two) roller on the top of the frame, while each board is tied to by a rope around the roller. So the one board is the counterweight to th other. You can shift one board up, wich lowers the other board. When the rope breaks, this is what you get.
Ryan, words resurface from time to time, you know?
11:40 no in all seriousness if you can make the time please watch that movie, it is awesome and really highlights the problems in our school system and finds a great balance between humor and the seriousness of the topic. I'm currently studying to become a teacher and 100% approve of it
