"...but with bland ones like Shuichi"
    YOU DARE
    COME INTO _MY HOUSE_
Nah, in all seriousness, DR might be with my top 5(maybe even top 3, not completely sure), I can't really deny any of the points you made.
I don't agree with most of them, but they are fair.
As for a game that I love and hate?
While I haven't finished it fully, I think I've played enough to say it: Ultimate Spider-Man.
I like the asthetic, the voice acting and even the gameplay... _sometimes._
When you're just swinging around, going from main mission to main mission, it's fun.
But when the game asks you to be precise with your movement in the side missions?
That is when the game becomes a test of patience.
The Johnny Storm races are just the textbook definition of frustration.
    Nothing but trial and error.
And the combat is, to me, not that great.
It's pretty monotonous, button mashie and, later on with certain bosses and enemies, pretty frustrating.
Even Spider-Man Friend Or Foe has a more complex combat system, and that's saying _a lot._
But even with all of that said, it's still a good game.
Hell, I'm even willing to bet that some of my frustrations come from me simply not being that good at the game.
But I can't deny that I didn't have as fun of a time as I thought I would.

If there are games that I love and hate two games come to mind.
The first being Batman Arkham knight. I love the visuals, music, most of the story, and combat. I hated the overuse of the batmobile, lack of good memorable bosses, and the letdown of the main villains being Scarecrow and the Arkham knight. (which the knights identity was so predictable)
The second game is Skyward Sword. I love the dungeons, most of the bosses, certain story parts, and of course everything about Ghirahim. I hated certain side quests, the letdown of how easy demise the true villain was, and the imprissioned. Just the imprissioned. (Who imo is the worst zelda boss ever.)

So about number 6. Fates is my fifth favorite game in the whole series. I somewhat get why it gets flak. But to be honest, the only parts I dislike about it are the story (and even then, I would only it's below average at best and mediocre at worse and I would argue there fe games with FAR WORSE stories.) And separating it into 3 versions.
Other than that. I loved everything about it.
    I love the characters
I love the map design (really enjoyed Revelation in particular but I still liked both Birthright and Conquest)
    I love the supports.
    I love the music.
Corrin while not my favorite character, I found WAY better than people gave him/her credit for. (Fight me on this one.)
I just loved everything about it.

Funny that you have Battle Network 5 on here, because I have similarly mixed feelings on a different fifth-entry Mega Man game- Mega Man V. I do like the story, what little there is, but the screen crunch, somewhat stiff controls, and slow firing speed that is only rectified by getting _multiple Game Overs_ kills the gameplay for me.
Aside from that, the other two big ones for me are Twilight Princess and Pokemon Black & White 2. I've gone over both of those quite a bit between Joshscorcher and Meta527ii's channels over the last year.
For Twilight Princess, there is quite a bit I like. I like quite a few of the new dungeons, the Ball and Chain, Spinner and especially the Double Clawshots are a lot of fun to use, many of the bosses are among my favorites (and even the weaker ones are just meh rather than bad), and I've come to like a lot of the characters, with my favorite new character being Colin of all people. With that said, Ilia cemented herself as my least favorite character in the Zelda series due to how horribly her storyline was done, a couple of the moments gave me multiple Game Overs in and of themselves, and the City in the Sky ended up making me restart the entire game in frustration.
As for Pokemon BW2, I present you with a copy-paste of a recent rant.
"To sum it up: the Key System is stupid, the amount of new areas added on for a sequel game was lackluster compared to Gen 2 and XD Gale of Darkness, Pokestar Studios went from promising to disappointing with the tutorial movie, Join Avenue was completely useless to me even before the DS wifi got discontinued, Cheren got jipped, the Unova Link actively reminds me of how Cheren got jipped, and Marlon has levels of tacked-on that rival those of _Juan._ With that said, Roxie is my favorite Unova Gym Leader, having access to the Mareep and Riolu lines before the first Gym was pretty sweet, Colress is a welcome addition to the series-wide ensemble, the new songs added nicely on top of BW1's already stacked ost, and despite some missed potential in not bringing back the Elite 4 members, I like the Pokemon World Tournament."
    Also, once again: 7:30 *shudders*

My favourite game used to be Disgaea 5, now it's my number one love-hate game. When fans discuss the series with newcomers, the atrocious level curve between postgame levels. Despite this, the main story is the most fun I've had in all 4 Disgaea games I've played. And the item world was revamped to make your many trips more exciting. While in my first run, I didn't quite see that much of a spike between postgame fights.
Then I unlocked the Carnage Dimension. Three of the most challenging stages so far and what was my reward? The game telling me my equipment can't catch up any longer and I'd have to redo the stages I'd already cleared only with higher enemy statd so I could have an item drop and then enter its item world to get better items and so on. Which was not enough to match the bloated stats of the enemies of the "new" stages (almost all reused assets from the main story maps), so I had to redo chara world tons of times just to fully upgrade one character out of the 15 unit dispatch limit. Still, the superbosses themselves are cool, but I just don't think they're worth the effort.
Disgaea 6, on the other hand, is just terrible. In a nutshell, auto battle was featured in trailers as the fix they added to the formula that alienated newcomers. However, they decided to compensate by greatly increasing the number of times you have to reincarnate for your character to be maxed out (at least 255 times per unit). Budget cuts have also reduced the number of generic classes in the base game and negatively affected the battle animations. Then there's the fact that they copy-pasted a boss level (a map without terrain effects against a single unit) more than ten times! The postgame is also a giant waste of time, because not only does the Carnage Dimension return alongside all my complaints about it, but they've also added a brand new Rakshasha Dimension! Complete with its own 40 item ranks, only this time the payoff sucks. The only fights at the end of this brand new mode are against differently coloured versions of the same generic enemies you've been fighting this whole game (which, once you beat all five stages, rewards you with a higher stat cap for your units that has to be unlocked separately, because of course it does) and against series staple Baal. Both of which also showcase a brand new feature of D6 that I hated with a passion: reinforcements that come out of nowhere!

A game I love and hate? Easy. Superhot. The concept of the game is great. Time only moves when you do. It's extremely satisfying to clear levels and I have a soft spot for "things aren't what they seem" stories. What do I hate about the game? Well, I feel like that the game often puts me in bullshit scenarios where if I clear it, while still satisfying, feels like I beat it because of luck. That, and I think the game kind of lied to us by saying time only moves when you do, when it would've been more accurate to say, time slows down when you stop. Also, I struggle to understand the hit box on your character and am I the only one who started to get annoyed by the guy saying "Super Hot" after the first time he said it?

This is a good list. I think I have a few love and hate relationship with some games but it’s either a pet peeve or I just couldn’t figure things out about that game and also i haven’t played it yet. (And I found that out during a stream)
The Pet Peeve game is Fire Emblem Awakening. While not as bad what keeps me from liking it is the stupid idea of how the protagonist and avatar are, and the SPOTPASS CHARACTERS! Before it did became a Love and Hate game for me today I consider it overrated mainly because i couldn’t get into it because of this Pet Peeves I have with it.
The other one I haven’t play and couldn’t figure out is out why I don’t like it too much is Nero Automata (the game Josh is streaming today) I don’t know why but I couldn’t find out why I have that feeling. Maybe because I love 9S more than 2B, and I don’t understand too much about 2B’s development yet.
Also, this might be me, but the game I would have a love and Hate relationship is the Mega Man X Series, for being hard and not fun (that might be me just saying I hate the X series tho and after playing them i consider them to be Overrated. I haven’t played the classic series because I don’t have too much interest, but from what I see they look fun)

Honestly, my only really strong gripe with Awakening is that the villains are awful. Even the few good ones gets too little screentime. I can stomach some of Awakening's goofier, light-hearted moments, but it's near-complete disregard for the antagonists really bothers me. Especially when its predecessor, the Tellius games, have some of the best villains in the series.

    • @kendricktruong5886

@@CountShaman while I don’t know about some of the villains in Awakening, the one I HATE the most is Gangrel! If you had difference opinions about him, that’s okay. I think at first I wanted to hate him about what he did, and in a way, I have the freight to hate him. It wasn’t until the Spotpass where they not only recon his death (stupid idea btw) but tried to make him sympathetic. It ruin why Gangrel was a hated character and tried to make him sympathetic all because, new party members... that’s it.
They could’ve ended the getting new members after Tiki, but they went out of they’re hands to get THOSE characters into the game. Some of the characters should’ve work if they were part of the MAIN story, Priam feels like he should’ve been in a new Fire Emblem game because he’s not that important, and may I ask, WHY DID THEY BROUGHT BACK GANGREL AND EMMERYN! Gangrel shouldn’t be alive, he deserves to die, and having Emmeryn back is stupid that it made her death less important.

    Love & hate games huh?
If I'm gonna be 100% honest, out of all the 3DS FE games, Echoes is kinda my least favorite of the trio. Don't get me wrong, I liked my time with SoV and think it's a great game and FE entry. It's just that it kinda bothers me that everyone gives Awakening and Fates constant flack for their flaws (*especially* the latter which I'm personally just *tired* of) and constantly act like Echoes did nothing slightly wrong. I thought the story was cool (though not my personal favorite of the franchise), I liked the cast and there wasn't anyone I truly disliked, the full voice acting was nice, battles animations are more eye catching, the OST was amazing, and the dungeons were cool.
So what part turned me off with SoV personally? The map designs of certain chapters. Most maps in the game I was mostly fine with, but some of the maps can either sting me or downright give me pain. And when they gave me pain I was given *PAIN.* The desert level with the many archers was annoying since most of the team was useless and couldn't move more than one space except the magic users and Boey had to carry the entire map since he was the only one with actual physical defense of said magic users. And then I got to levels like the Temple of Mila & Nuibaba's Tower, and that's when I got *really* frustrated. Hard for me to enjoy that good stuff people keep constantly worshipping the game about when your blocked by so much BS map designs that I run out of Turnwheel pretty quick. And it was the 1st game I played on Classic mode on hard. Friends were like just start over on the lowest difficulty to escape the BS. Yeah I shouldn't have to lower difficulty just to enjoy some FE goodness and dodge trashy map design in this game.

    • @CountShaman

Actually, lots of people didn't like SoV's map design, and I've even gotten recommendations to just watch a playthrough of the game instead of playing it because the maps are so bad.
