- You can’t take great climbing photos from the ground. The hand reaching out to help Malik get up on the wall, and later out of South Memphis and into the mountains, was that of legendary alpinist Conrad Anker.

So proud of you Fam! It's so easy to move away and forget about whatever we came from. You stayed and shed light and grew. Be that dad to the fatherless and mentor as he has to you. I can't wait to see your next project.
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, This video is truly remarkable! The editing was superb and it's clear why we in Brazil have such a deep affection for YETI. Thank you, YETI, for this joyous experience that brought tears to our eyes!
This is so cool! I lived in Memphis and went to Memphis Roxs and it truly is an oasis for all people! Beautiful story!
YETI didn’t have to have me tearing up on a Wednesday night like this. Malik is an awesome inspiration and Conrad is an amazing person.
Thank you for your kind words!
Love Malik… Love ✊🏾
Great story Malik I can relate to you 10000% keep climbing brother 🧗🏾♂️🤝🏾
This friendship and camaraderie touched my soul. I have family just near Memphis in Jackson. Not many black young people get to experience the wonders of the world. I love to see real people take an interest in the lives of human beings, no matter their differences. Thank you!
I started skating and surfing at 14, only black Caribbean kid in Venice Beach. Jumped off a bridge, out of a plane and paraglide with a group of strangers that I never thought would accept me. This speaks to me on a uniquely wonderful way. Thank you Yeti
Fantastic! Malik and Conrad are both inspirations.
What a great partnership: Malik, Conrad, Jimmy. Nice work, thanks for the window into Malik's thoughts!
These stories are so great. This one really got me. Props Yeti.
Yeti: When a brand becomes the focused lens of the outdoor humankind
Conrad is the most accomplished climber alive and still is the most genuine person you'll ever meet. No ego ever and as a previous student, he's so knowledgeable and so important to many
Wonderful
Wonderful film. ❤
loved this!
Trailblazer 🔥🔥🔥
Let’s go 🎉
This video speaks on so many levels to me from an AFRICAN AMERICAN! MAN..I freaking cried at the end. Thank you for bringing this experience to me. Now I can bring my skateboarding, surfing and fishing to light as well! 🤙
Keep going black man
Well done.

Yeti doesnt just tell a story, they create art.
Helps when you have amazing subject matter.
Yeti always does it right. Never seen a bad yeti film yet
It was great to hear your story frat. GOMAB!
That is such a gorgeous short film; about connection, the love of being alive, friendship, being outside... Much respect and much love to everyone involved. Def shed a tear on this one :)
Life is an interesting journey , you never know where it’s going to take you until you arrive there . What could be more fun . Thanks for sharing your journey
This is a PURE story of sharing. I love the fact that instead of exploitation he was invited to the group of influence!!!
Well this was a treat. Malik and Conrad are both so rad.
I met Malik in Muir Valley one day filming with Drew Climbs. Such a nice genuine guy!
I remember this lol I was up on the wall when y'all came through
I hope to see you again!@@malikthamartian

This story sounds so familiar - was this previously featured in a Yeti Dispatch or something, cuz I’m getting deja vu!
Absolutely, same here. The rough edit must’ve been shared on Insta a few months ago or something.
There's a Red Bull doc on Reel Rock called 'Black Ice' where they both feature. Might be from that.
Yeti team you guys do not miss! Another great short!
YETI, enough said.
That was nice. As a Memphis kid myself I can tell you that Memphis has a lot of stories to tell and not all of them are negative. The city has been good to me.
I accidentally clicked on this but I’m stuck now.
Absolutely beautiful
Love this!
