You beautiful man, this video is exactly what I was looking for, everything perfectly explained with additional recommendations for different budgets, you are amazing!
Is 90% of sRGB okay for web design? Also, is there an online tool to check for the rating of the monitor you are on right now? Thanks in advance. Great video.
Question, does- and if so, how does 16.7M vs 1.07B colours as well as contrast ratio affect Delta-E? This video deserves way more views! Absolutely amazing work.
I don't know how it affects but the 16.7M is 24 bits per pixel while the 1.07B is 30 bits per pixel. I believe the latter is what HDR10 is. AFAIK, these "words" are divided in 3 being 1/3 for each color: 24 is 8R+8G+8B while 30 is 10R+10G+10B. I think the 30 bit will be more accurate if you work with 24 bit images.
You are the only computer reviewer that makes any sense. Thank you for explaining things with so much detail. I am a graphic design student and you have made choosing a laptop so much easier. I appreciate your content.
Hi there, I am trying to understand rec.2020 a little better. I am looking at filming in rec2020, but monitors seem to only have SRGB, REC709, and DCI-P3 colour gamut. Does this mean that when I am recording, I am just capturing a lot more data which then is compressed when editing in the above colour gamut's? or can you use a monitor that has rec2020 support so that you can edit it like that? if so, what happens when that footage in uploaded onto RUclips or Instagram for example? Its a long question, but really hoping you can find the time to answer. Thank you so much!.... I've liked and subbed to your channel :)
Question: I'm wanting to buy a monitor that says it's colour rating is 99% NTSC and 126% SRGB. So my question is if NTSC 99% is almost the same colour gamut as Adobe RGB (so somewhere between 90% -95% Adobe RGB) if yes, then would it be accurate to say that a 99% NTSC would be pretty close colour accuracy for graphic design (ie print). The Delta E on this monitor I'm looking at, is
Between 120hz 60 sRGB and average to bad response time and 60hz 100 sRGB and unknown response time which should I pick ?? I want that for comp gaming I known higher refresh rate is better but image quality I rather be ok .. is 60srgb terrible compare than 100? answer me thanks
Ben, would you say this video is up to date still, or do you think it's time for a new video? Asking because I watched all your laptop reviews first... then looked this up because I didn't understand the color specs you were describing 😅
Excellent! I have been looking for a laptop with accurate color. It is a shame so many have washed out screens. Thanks for your laptop recommendations. I'm considering the spin 5
This video has some inaccuracies and misinformation that I just spotted. The delta-e definition that you can look up yourself is really not really accurate, also the specs regarding the color spaces that the MacBook Pro M1 screen covers are wrong, just google it and you will see it yourself. I will never trust content from this account if I were you, I would also assume there could be more disinformation in this video.
This is the only thing I have found on the internet with a side by side comparison. Everywhere I looked, everyone was just talking about it. Talking about it is cool and all, but seeing a side by side comparison is what I've been dying to find. I'm glad I found that here. Thank you.
why on earth do they not circulate your videos because this shoulda been in my feed weeks ago.Anyways you are way better at picking topics I can actually use in this life anyways jsyk
@dereko9743 Yes, if you connect an external monitor that is color accurate (like 100% sRGB, DCI-P3, aRGB etc.) and use your laptop with it, you will see true colors on external monitor. But your laptop's monitor color accuracy will stay the same.
any monitor with Delta 3 2 or 1 will be rubbish for productions editing, "Not perceptible by human eyes" they mean that some people may not see any diffrence below certain Delta but human eye can see from 0.5 to 0 without issues unless the gammut is above the human perception
Do you know what the Delta-E is for the HP Omen 25L Desktop gaming computers range, say the ones with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6 GB graphics cards?
Ty for such an informative videos bro. It helps me explain about the monitors more. As a promoter it's my job to understand this since I sell monitors. If you could explain more about the colors when it comes to see in monitor and print it on the printer that'd be very helpful. Or if u can suggest any video to help me understand more about what I see in monitor and how to print the same colors.
@@BenGKaiser I'll drop the link which is probably where it was mentioned. But I will drop it in the next comment because I'm sure YT will withhold it. So make sure to check your held for review.
Hey, I'm looking for a new monitor, I game occasionally, mainly just watch streams, RUclips and shows. Do I need a really colour accurate monitor or does it not matter for me?
If you're not a designer, you don't need something color accurate but can benefit from the color gamut. A wider gamut will make the colors much richer and get you an overall better viewing experience. Your screen could be 4k, but if the colors are all washed out, it won't feel like it
Anyone know what the 2020 Lenovo Legion 5’s (144hz-100%srgb-r7.4800h+gtx 1660ti) Adobe rgb coverage is? I mean, I know it wasn’t really built with the intention of being a creaters laptop, but figured it’d be cool to know if it was at least decent.
Never mind, found a review covering the color range on this laptop. It was tested to have 99%SRB 70%NTSC 75%Adobe RGB And 385 nitts brightness. Much better than I expected lol
The only RUclipsr who talks about color gamut range.. Your content deserves more views
is this the very first channel u found?
Ever heard of optimumtech?
Thanks man, I'm exactly looking for a laptop with a nice accurate screen to work on editing photos and video. Grat content!
So which did you buy?

very informative stuff

Can you review asus ux325 OLED panel is it worth it? As having accurate panel and fantastic cpu too
I want to know ,How to exchange NTSC color gamut to DCI-P3? 72% NTSC is equivalent DCI-P3 ?
What would you recommend for Digital Artists? Photoshop apps and some other apps, Some animations in future. What laptops do you recommend?
One thing i still dont know is waht is 100% or 75% argb or srgb mean? Like what those percent mean?
Thank you!
AMOLED wide gamut vs sRGB vs DCI P3. What do you think is better/more accurate?
Asking in terms of gaming
Do you have a video expanding more on the DCI-P3? thanks for the reviews ths is very helpful..

I found Asus ProArt 24" that has 100% srgb and an LG UltraGear 27" that has 90% dci-p3. Which one is better in terms of color accuracy?
whic is better dci p3 100% or 100% srgb?
If you have a laptop with a lower color gamut %, like in the mid 60s, can that percentage increase if you plug it into a nicer external monitor?

would you recomend the macbook m1 for the colors ?
So how willl i check these on my monitor ...
damn this is what I've been looking for I've been rushing to buy a monitor for my ohoto edting work. very informative ❤

now that some OLED displays exceed 100% DCI-P3, can you provide Rec.2020 coverage numbers? in your reviews.

Anyone knows what is the colour coverage of a midrange smartphone?
Can anyone please tell me... I'm about to buy a laptop with 45% NTSC, 100% sRGB.
Is it garbage?
Ahhhh loved this video, thanks for this!!
Glad you liked it!!
My Xbox 360 has rec. 2020.
It is not UHD.
Is 45% NTSC or 62.5sRGB better?
What about 17 inch Dell XPS 9710?
Nice video
I think Sean Cannell dropped your name on a video recently. That was pretty cool to know you may have work with the think team
Really? I would love to know what video. :)

Awesome! Thanks a bunch!!! xo
Times have changed now and I can see that DCI -P3 is best for the creative streams. Adobe RGB still has to do something better.
Yeo watching as colourblind

Which screen is better? That with 8 bits colors, but with 45% ntsc, or 6 bits but with 72% ntsc?
8bit one

Hi, does the MSI prestige14EVO have a color accurate screen?
has very low brightness so keep that in mind.
