Hi man, this is exactly what i was looking for! Thank you so much. Got my EC arctic metal, and it came with one stud broken in the tuner. The shop was so nice that instead of returning it, they offered a $100 refund. Considering the quality increase of these tuners, this seems like a pretty good deal to me 😀. Do you know maybe if the headstock thickness and the holes are the same for arctic metal and ec 1000? I have standard ltd locking tuners there now (without screw holes). Some previous versions were using other brand afaik. I heard the guitar itself is all the same, just different pickups config and paint, but it would be nice to confirm 100% before i spend money again 😁
Cheers!
If you're on the lower strings does it actually take more turns, /longer turns to get to the same note as if you were on a standard set of tuners? Say you need to go from low e to drop D, do you have to turn this gear more or less times compared to a regular tuner?
It would depend on the ratio of the old tuners. It might be more or less depending on the string since these make all the strings feel equal when tuning.
Hello, thanks for your video - it was really instructional! Do you have any idea if your guitar has the same LTD locking turners as an LTD M-1000HT. I have been looking everywhere for tuners that do not require drilling an additional hole and these ones were the only ones I could find (as you also mentioned in the video). Any insight would be greatly appreciate and , again, thanks for the video!
The Graphtech ones should fit you’ll just need to get whatever orientation that your headstock is. 3x3 or inline. One thing to note about mounting them directly is the tuners do sit a hair higher up without using the plates but a couple extra winds keeps the break angle at a good spot.
@@thatlocalguitarist Hello, thank you so much for your reply! Mine are six in line. The reason I am asking is that I am afraid that the drilling holes would devalue my guitar and I do not wish for this to happen. I think I will try the Graphtechs based on this video and I hope they will be perfect fit. What you did in your video seemed like a seamless modification.
@@lefteris_kef I would definitely recommend these then! Thank you very much for checking out the video too!
