If you're on the lower strings does it actually take more turns, /longer turns to get to the same note as if you were on a standard set of tuners? Say you need to go from low e to drop D, do you have to turn this gear more or less times compared to a regular tuner?
It would depend on the ratio of the old tuners. It might be more or less depending on the string since these make all the strings feel equal when tuning.
90% of my main gig is to replace entire boards on machines that cost more than my house. Finding the issue with individual components can be tough as in most cases you need to isolate each component to verify its value. This means removing it from the circuits. So just throwing a board it’s just easier and would cost less when you add time into the cost of the diagnostic.
Totally, this is a pretty simple circuit though. I imagine someone skilled could probably run it down but yeah for a $50 part it’s not really worth the time.
I have been invited over to many a basement
😬
Solid explanation and comparison. Thanks for sharing. 👌
Thanks for taking the time to check it out 🙌
Besides the fact on my particular order I didn't specify my keisel Aries was 7 inline reversed head stock(my bad) I disagree. These are better than standard tuners and better than hipshot that I love. I made my mistake when I ordered, but I still installed them anyway. Just had to drill holes and turn the key the other way. To me, no big deal. But for myself to buy a $3500 keisel and deal with there crap tuners was kinda of upsetting for the money. The kiesel locking tuners are not made by hipshot or gotoh or anyone respectable. The standard keisel locking tuners are trash just like ltd esp, charvel, ibanez,or jackson brands. Trash! These I recommend over hipshot no problem, and that is my favorite tuner. The name brands creek, crack and pop and detune strings where hipshot and these are smooth as butter and don't do that. These are premium, and I recommend every penny to get these or hipshot. These are slightly better imo. I have my 7 string keith merrow km-7 mk-iii with the hipshot and my mayones duvell elite with them as well, and they are great. But these really are a step above. Much smoother while tuning and better construction. I think they are worth every penny, except they do need to do a better job specifically to let people know what is a drop in for one guitar and what is not. I learned that the hard way, but it made my semi custom keisel even more personal as I had to drill holes to make mine work, and I accidentally went through the head stock on my last tuner lol. Oh, well. Just made the experience even better and my guitar more my own lol. Anyway, I recommend these over any locking tuners out there, and they are worth every penny
The more time I’ve spent with them the more appreciate them honestly. Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your experience with them.
I enjoyed this, but the sound overall of that snare was horrible to my ear. Just a splat.
Definitely not my favorite snare and it’s tuned pretty flat. Appreciate you watching and leaving some feedback though.
Hello, thanks for your video - it was really instructional! Do you have any idea if your guitar has the same LTD locking turners as an LTD M-1000HT. I have been looking everywhere for tuners that do not require drilling an additional hole and these ones were the only ones I could find (as you also mentioned in the video). Any insight would be greatly appreciate and , again, thanks for the video!
The Graphtech ones should fit you’ll just need to get whatever orientation that your headstock is. 3x3 or inline. One thing to note about mounting them directly is the tuners do sit a hair higher up without using the plates but a couple extra winds keeps the break angle at a good spot.
@@thatlocalguitarist Hello, thank you so much for your reply! Mine are six in line. The reason I am asking is that I am afraid that the drilling holes would devalue my guitar and I do not wish for this to happen. I think I will try the Graphtechs based on this video and I hope they will be perfect fit. What you did in your video seemed like a seamless modification.
@@lefteris_kef I would definitely recommend these then! Thank you very much for checking out the video too!
Cool video
Thanks for taking the time to check it out.
Boy, the only thing missing here is some super soft video. 10/10.
All the Pro-Mists 😒🥴
@@thatlocalguitarist as many as we can get
@ShotBySoftMistAllen 🙄
The mids in the first Mesa 412 are just so nicely in your face. Older cab by any chance? The stoneage sounds brittle and mid-recessed in comparisson. At least on my phone 🫠
Great ear, yeah the first mesa cab is one of the older straight slant models.
That Stone Age sounds really really good
It really does, I wouldn’t mind do a more in depth video on it in the future.
In my unprofessional opinion lol the first cab sounds a bit crisper where as the Mesa sound a bit deeper... Just what I noticed
They’re all opinions there’s no wrong answers here
@@thatlocalguitarist oh absolutely! I really loved the video guy's ❤️ keep the content coming with the gear reviews
Will do, thank you 🙏
Sounds awesome!! You can't go wrong with a dual rect...I kick myself every day for getting rid of mine... actually to a gentleman in Bay City 😅
😑 'promosm'
God damn give him my number make him teach me that shit lol 😅
Bet!
YOOOO I'm a michigan based compositor and i'd love to do some work together dude!
Seriously impressed! Think you definitely found your calling! x
sick!
This is nothing less than amazing! :D
Thanks dude, hoping you make an appearance in the next one as well 😁
You tease. 🤘😎We can see how busy you have been.
Yes indeed lol
Yes indeed lol
You have such a good eye for music videos! Keep it up bro!
🙌
great cover! amazing.
Thanks for watching!
Sweet vocals dude. Keep it up!
Thanks for checking it out.
About to get one of these for my 5150iii and I'm honestly excited as hell 🤘
Sick, let me know what you think of it Sean!
@@thatlocalguitarist Just got the Mk2 today from someone who sold it for $180 on Reverb and it's probably my favorite overdrive I've played so far. It's so tight and brutal which makes it the perfect tone for what I'm playing (Blackened Death Metal). With some slight delay and an MXR 10-band EQ in the loop--I was just filling the room with pure stank face riffage🤘
Sounds like a killer setup Sean
I bought one.. used it for a month or so. And I'm disappointed with it. When you hit A and B to bypass, it'll turn back on if you hit AB within a min, but any longer and you literally have to unplug and replug it back in so I can hit AB again to turn it on... If that's the way it's supposed to be I'm not a fan
That's interesting, did you reach out to Darkglass? I'd be interested to hear if you ever found an answer.
@@thatlocalguitarist ahh I spoke to Guitar center and Zzounds both companies could not help and I did not reach out to DG which is my fault. But regardless the tone wasn't what I was looking for. So I sent it back and grabbed the B7k ultra. I really enjoy the clean channel
@@coreyu4590 I don't blame you, the cleans are so much better on the B7k
For low tuning, tune with the harmonic at the 12th fret.
That definitely works, seemed like something worth noting though.
I just could not stop staring at the gorgeous pick guard on that stingray lol
@@zekt976 it's sick for sure, I'll have to have Rick drop a link to the guy who made it.
Wow. Am I the only one not impressed by this thing? My AOU does a way better job as a clean preamp as well as dirt tones.
No it was pretty disappointing compared to some of their other products.
I really wanted to hear what that Stingray sounds like through the ADAM... mainly because I play a Stingray and want an ADAM
at 1:30 when you were demoing your first preset you have the compressor cranked (which also increases the input gain a lot). Have you tried getting some kind of “low gain” with the compressor off, so you retain more dynamics?
That's an excellent point Derek, we did not mess around with that when we made this video. I'll have to ask Richard if he experimented with that.
YOU did what I was wanting to know 🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝 Thanks man ✌🏽🙌🏽👏🏽👍🏽
Glad we could help Silent Note, thanks for checking it out.
On preset C all that can be heard is the pick hitting the strings plus a tuneless buzzing noise. Virtually no actual notes whatsoever. What’s the point of this? Might as well just listen to a washing machine going through a cycle.
For me,X Ultra Is Better. More cleaner tone! I was thinking to replace my X Ultra+Hyperluminal, but i'm pretty Happy with my tone! ADAM Is Cool, but i don't like the sound..sometimes to much fuzziness, the tuner isn't Easy to read! Thanks anyway for your demo, now i love more my X Ultra than before!
Me too Patrick. I was thinking of getting the new adam for it’s new features and all but after seeing videos of it I kinda like the x tone more till now. I also have the x ultra on my board and loving it more like you do😄
My exact thoughts Patrick, the tuner isn't a huge deal from my perspective but the inherent fuzziness in it limits applications in my opinion.
Cool demo but keep it mono. No reason to pan your bass to the right and your voice/room mic to the left.
Angel that's a mistake on my end, the vocal/camera mic records 2 different levels left and right and I honestly forgot to point it properly. I appreciate you taking the time check it out and let me know.
Nice demo man👍🏻and wanted to know which drive sound do you prefer between the x ultra and Adam?
Definitely looking to pick it up to combine with my DG X ultra
Woooowwweeewoooweeewowowow that's some shit! Now I'm setting here with my coffee all enraged n shit!
That most definitely is some shit!
That’s my bud!!!!
Pretty slick!
Dude that sounded dope good one Reagan!
Thanks man it was my first one😅 let's hope the next few are better
Love this so much!!!! 😍😍😍
He was my friend first back off!
@@TehBoogyMan N E V E R 😜😜😜
Hyped for my friend Reagan!
He did an amazing job
Aww thanks guys I just saw this lol
Happy birthday!!!
What are you playing out of? That overall tone is the TITS!
All the tones are the default setting of the Neural DSP Omega plugin aside from the lead section at the end which is Plini also from Neural.
Sounds great! I have a Direwolf and Phalanx on pre-order for October, can't wait. The chugging on that last riff is killer bro! I'm also waiting for the Gehenna by LICHTLÆRM and a Ceres by KSR. I have an old Peavey half-stack, I'm hoping one of these pedals or combination of them will make this amp sound great. Ya dude, keep making demos, you got some dope riffs.
Thanks! Those pedals should really wake up your amp. I love most of the older peavey stuff and the Direwolf should work really well with them.
Yeaaah, the last riff is killer 🤘🤘
Thank You!
Cool man! Just ordered a set!
That's awesome Jason, hope you enjoy them as I have.
I just want to know what it sounds like tuned to 440 and plugged straight into a Marshall...?
These will definitely be making an appearance in some upcoming videos with some different tones.
fucking guitar SCIENCE!
