Hello Jose. I'm new to home inkjet printing; I purchased my first photo printer last November. As I am still on the learning curve, I have been watching a number of videos. In your tutorial, you turned off the color management in the printer and did the control from Light Room, rather than the other way around. Does Light Room do a better job at managing the color, or is this just a personal preference? Thanks.
Anytime you let the editing application control color through a proper and specific ICC profile for the printer/paper it will be better than printing through the driver controlling color. So it's just not because of Lightroom or Photoshop.
No. ICC profiles are only used when you let the editing application ( PS - Lightroom ) control color. The driver loads a generic "so called Profile" when you let IT control color.
Hi Jose, When printing with LR on MAC, I have the option of a check box for 16 bit, under print job pane. Which I believe is not avaiable on Windows machines. Could you explain if this makes any difference to the printer. Thanks Si
Valuable info for those unfamiliar with LR. Most interested in seeing your next video that you teased using LR and the QPrint plug in.
That is coming next! It will cover exporting out of Photoshop CC 2017 and Lightroom 6.10 into Qimage Ultimate V 2017.122
Learning all sorts of things from Anthony Morganti. Thanks for the tip on you tube videos.
He is very good!
Thanks Jose, Very helpful video on Lightroom

OK, so this is true, even if the printer pulls in the same ICC profile? Thanks.

If your images are 16 bit rather than 8 bit you would use that check box. They
