- EPISODE 37
A slightly shorter video this time I'm afraid due to suffering from a virus the last couple of weeks.
But progress is progress and I'm on the mend.
In this episode it is time to get on and give the new cleats some shape and detail using some nice old hand tools.
Once shaped they can be dry fitted onto the boat ready to bed bedded and bolted for the final time.
Moving on it is time to lay the portside cap templates onto the bulwarks to make sure all they are all tight and still the correct shape since they've been on the shelf.
Once happy i can take them to the bench and get the new caps cut to size.

Hey Finn, hope you're doing well! I'm rooting for you :)
Thanks Finn, good to see you back 👏👏👏👏👏👍
Always a good week when a Leo and a Finn coincide 🙂
Indeed!
Hear hear!
when did you last see Finn?? Months ago! 5 or 6
Really hope all is good with Finn, as he comes across as a thoroughly decent young guy, and I find his methodology very motivational for my own boat work. Especially loved his building of the shed with his mates a few years ago now............
Beautiful work as always Finn, and couldn't help noticing your smile of satisfaction as you were belt sanding the capping edge, you're a total inspiration to all who those who go down the track of restoring boats, well done on so many levels!
Don't swet it, sick is sick. Get better and continue is basically what you need to do. People who are sick invariably make mistakes, mistakes take time to rectify too. Better to heal and only then work. 😊
You owe me NOTHING. Especially an apology. I know as well as anyone in the world that working alone takes far more than twice as long with two. And a sick person has to be sick first for your health. You take the time you need, and I'll be watching with notifications on eagerly awaiting your next beautiful video. You take care of yourself. And thank you for your wonderful content. It's always so appreciated and impressive! Cheers!!
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Best of the season to all.
Cheers, R.
😎👍🍻
Glad to see you back and well, Finn. Caprails look really nice! She's coming along...
Great craftsmanship and superb music.
Love the homemade bench sander. Necessity, mother of invention.
Glad you are feeling better. Never good to be sick. See you next time.
Glad to see you're feeling better. Keep up the good work.
Finn! Stay the course!
20mm 👍

Nice work on the cap rails. Coming along well!
I'm glad you're doing better.
Thanks Finn. Relaxing viewing and the opportunity to pick up a few tips
That sander jig idea is genius. I'm heading out to the shed to make one for mine :).
Good one 👍 I like to 👍
More Fine Business!!! CHEERS from HERE!
Hi Finn! Thanks for the update
Looks great
Get well.
get well Finn--it's more important than a video.
So true 👌
great stuff.
Those 2 boat inspectors obviously agree that the overhaul is 👍👍
Keep up good work
20mm was the right call - looks wonderful. You'll thank yourself one day when you slip and land across it.
I've been watching you since you worked on Tally ho, love your work.
Be Well My Friend! Excellent Work!
All good, post when you are able. Always enjoy your content. Keep up the good work. Cheers and a very merry Christmas and all the best in the new year.

Excellent work.
Coming along nicely Finn⚓️
Glad you're on the mend Finn. No issue putting your health and well being ahead of us mere subscribers. Nice work on the cap rail, though. Thanks for sharing.
Nice capping rail! good job!
Not great feeling poorly and wanting to crack on with the project!! This time of year in Blighty it's always tummy and head bugs!! Capping rail larger round-over was a good call - looking good!!! Take care and hope the illness is over. All the best for Xmas and progress on your project Finn.
Always enjoy your content mate. hope you feel better soon finn.
The rails really accentuate her sweet lines. Glad you're felling better, now get back to the grind!
Best wishes Finn. 🇨🇦
Really enjoy your content hope all is well with you looking forward to the next video
Good to see you’ve got your cap rail scarfs running in the right direction. Not everybody does. Hope you’re feeling better.
All progress is good, please don’t feel beholden to your followers, you do what you can and let us enjoy that. Besides, that looks a hefty chunk of confident work. Well done.
We all get sick at some point, just glad to see you are still moving forward and as always, great work.
lookin good bud.
Illness is not nasty, it's healing from. Part of life that should be accepted and cherished. Great work!
Great Work!
Beautiful!!!!
Another great release Finn, sorry to hear you were down for a while ill, but I sincerely hope you're feeling much stronger now.
Not drawing any parallels against any other builds or restorations but I was just thinking of the feeling of achievement you will have when she splashes that (any expert work like the electrics aside) it was all your own work that got you both there.
Have a great Christmas and New year
🙂
Wish you all the best with your project! must be daunting and hard doing it solo. Keep it up!
Hope your feeling better and back to 100% mate. Cheers from Sequim.
Having the part at the end of your videos with just text scrolling means that many viewers will skip ahead, or just end the video early. This will be bad for your you tube stats and the algorithm will not feature your videos as prominently or pay as much per view. To counter this - if you must scroll the text, you could go for a split screen, with action or narration on the other half.
Glad you are back on track Finn, keep on fighting,
👍👍 Glad to have you back - Merry Christmas to you and the ones you love!
ITS SO SATISFYING WATCHING A CRAFTSMAN WORK 😀
Great going, Finn! Love your choice of music, too, btw!
Great episode as usual mate stay safe
Always looking forward to your uploads.
Very nice indeed.
How are things with insurance for Ferro boats now, I heard it was quite difficult to get it once on the water, perhaps it was for ones that are non virgin ie been on the water for a certain time.
20mm 👌👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Finn
Nice video don't apologise for being sick it happens glad to see you are okay health comes first but the woodwork you are doing is great she's coming alive well done 😊😊😊 ps have a great Christmas and happy new year
Great work Finn, hope you're feeling better now, you were right to hold off a week until you have more energy. I'm having an enforced break from uploading, thanks to my Neuroendocrine cancer coming back; annoying little critters... Keep up the good work, I'm using my rest time to enjoy my favourite You tubers, you are one I always look forward to.
It's progressing nicely. Thanks for sharing.
The caprail beautyfull with the 20 mm curve nice to see you back👍👍
Hope you feel better soon! Merry Christmas!
Well done, with your usual fine workmanship
Hi Finn thanks for the video. Sometimes I wish your vids were like a book so I could flip forward and see you sailing the ocean blue. Anyway, hope ya feel better, see you in your next video.

Looking good Finn; ALWAYS enjoy watching your work progress...cheers...rr Normandy, Fra.

Wish you well and a speedy recovery to health. Love seeing the progress.
Good stuff! Thanks Finn!
Looking Good Finn!
Nice work mate ! She’s looking beaut
She's looking good Fin, great work!
Great work Finn! I’d like you to describe what tool you’re using and why. That Drawknife would have been a good candidate to explain as you’re evidently skilled at using it. 😎
The capping rail is definitely a lot better for the 20mm round over. Looking good as always.
Looking good !!!
Happy Christmas Finn to you and your family. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Nice work.
Cheers Finn. X
Braco. beau travail
Hey there Finn!, - wishing You and Your family a great Christmas and a fantastic New Year chock full of more exciting achievements - both personally and that of on the boat! No doubt (as gleaned from friends up in Scotland) you will be glad of your boatshed with all these storms the poor old UK is having! Take care and hats off to you for all you have done to date and continue to do. Kind regards from NZ.
Your fantastic soundtrack would have been sufficient for me! I notice that a Steve Earl numbers among your patrons; please could you tell me if your friend is the famous musician of the same name? I am a huge fan of the latter and I thought that I recognised the style.
The boat is progressing very nicely and I'm looking forward to the final stage before launch.
May I ask about your long term plans for this beautiful craft, global or local ? I hope that you can stay healthy from now on.
Are you doing okay Finn? Just ask’n. Cheers from 🇨🇦
Oh man Finn…can’t go to bed yet….
My goodness, it looks like you dropped 20 lbs. Please take care of yourself. Fine progress, get well...tm
Hey Fin,how are things going?I was thinking to myself that you hadn’t posted in a while.I just didn’t realize it had been so long.I hope all is well and look forward to seeing your next post!
We’ve all been getting that awful respiratory virus. Sucks. Knocked me on my ass for three weeks. Ginger tea with lemon and honey. 😊The bulwarks look like they belong.
Hi Finn, love your videos mate! Positive feedback for you: More lights in you shed, so your videos look better, especially on deck (throw a red light in there for warmer colouring). Also, don't talk and then show, just show and voice over. Your music is GREAT! So start with showing & music, then voice over can come in to explain. Easier for you as well, VO is less work than recording yourself.
I wish you the best of heath, only to be jealous of the time you get working on a dream! You got this👍
Is that old wooden wheel on the wall the wheel you are going to use on your boat?? It will definitely look great
Hello Finn, Are you OK? We have missed you so I hope you are in good health.
Yo, Finn, how goes it? I have been rewatching Leo’s Tally Ho videos from the beginning, and I have to tell you I thought you did some amazing hard and smart work for him. I really enjoyed your appearances. I hope all is going well with your reconstruction. Keep the faith, brother
...absolutely, I thought of Finn and Pete and all their hard and great work in Tally-Ho too, and whilst they are not there in person, I am sure like me, a host of others think of them very much when watching Leo's amazing achievement, - and wish for them both the same success and happiness in their various conquests. Hope all is well with you Finn, and it's just the (understandable) demands of life that has taken over for a wee while before we see you back "on deck" both figuratively and literally! Take care, and yes - "keep the faith brother!".......
Better Hurry, Tally Ho is going to beat you to the water : )
👍
