Thank you for this video. I've been camping for awhile and could never figure out how to get the tent in the bag nicely. I usually spend 20 minutes and tons of cussing, sweat, and tears trying to get it folded. I managed to follow your easy to remember directions and fit everything back in the bag. Bonus- It doesn't look like a 3 year old did it. It actually looks professionally done. Now, can you have a video on how to fold a fitted bed sheet? :-)

This saved what was remaining of my sanity!! I had never packed away a tent before and I was told to do it the COMPLETE WRONG WAY and it just wasn't working. After 30 minutes of that I googled how to do it and this video came up. Thanks Camping Guru!! (Really wish I was exaggerating but I'm not)

I got an ozman dome tent for christmas because my friends and i love to go camping a lot, and after we used it for the first time i just couldnt figure out how to get the outer tarp to fit in the bag! Spreading it out inside the tent makes a lot of sense, thank you so much for your help!
Man you did that like a boss. This has always been an issue for me (and I'm guessing for many others).. I was so excited when I saw this video I had to go in the backyard, take the tent out of the 2 bags we had it in, and fold it per your instructions, and now it's back in the factory bag no problem. I got the Oztrail Genesis 9P from Anaconda.. pulled pegs out etc once I layed it all out and then followed exactly your steps.. done in 10 min.. thanks mate.. champion

thanks going to have to try this. i just bought a new tent and put it up it was super easy. going up and coming down. but getting it back in the bag has been a nightmare. i can get it close but not quite in it. and it fits in a crate i have on the back of my motorcycle. and now it wont quite fit. maybe it will once i try your method. thanks again.

Yes i have always had trouble folding a tent canvas and fitting it into the bag although having a zipped bag rather than a draw string bag help as with the latter you just fit it around the tent. Anyway now i know the problem i have been trying to fold up the three items sepertely. So with an old two piece tent of mine which i found in the attic and although it is only a two piece with the fly sheet and the inner tent combined i tried this method and for the very first time in all my years of camping it works!. I hope with my new tent when it arrives it works with the usual three part of fly inner tent and poles.
This was brilliant. Packed up the tent this morning after it had rained at the camp site and did all 3 parts wrong. Now that I’ve dried it at home I will follow all your steps. Can’t wait to see the magic 🪄
So I tried this method with slight adjustments on our Ozark Trail 10 Person Family Tent. Worked like a charm. (Note if your working on a tent as big as ours add some slack when your folding I prepared a little too much slack and the fiber glass sticks in the middle is directly poking the bag [this is something you can perfect in about 2 tries but for now I'm too lazy to refold it or adjust the fiber glass so yeah])
I am watching this in 2020 and if the COVID lockdown ever ends I am supposed to be doing the coast to coast from Tynemouth to Silloth and back again and I'll be cycling and camping on the way for about 3 nights all in all. Honestly, I had never thought of putting the outside of the tent (flysheet) into the inside before packing it I've struggled with stuffing tents into bags for years and no one ever showed me that top tip "Good on Ya Mate!"
LOL, I wasn't off by much - but it was enough to cause issues ...with your technique I can probably even fit the ground cover in the original tent bag!!!
I'm a seasoned tent camper, owning many tents over the years. My personal inventory consists of five premium tents. I have to speak out, that whilst this may be a seemingly working method to pack a tent, is has it's problems, the main one being you've just put a dirty, dusty, mold spore ridden fly inside the tent. What is going to happen to your tent eventually if you keep doing this in the WRONG conditions. I know... it's best to wipe the underside of the floor clean, and dry, then roughly fold the fly, and place it along the inner folds before rolling as you showed. Never put the fly inside the tent. It'll work while the conditions are right, but if they are not, it's a bad idea. If camping on the beach, or dirty environment, pitch the tent at home, and wash that grubby fly! Someone gave me a Colman Timbertop 6V dome. It needed some repairs, and someone at Colman factory had put one too many sections of cross pole on in legnth. The fly was very dirty after only being used four times the owner said. So dirty I had to use the bath tub with sugar soap which naturally disolved the waterproofing seam tape, but that's ok, the seam tape is crap anyway. Nikwax UV and waterproofing spray was used on the seams and rest of the fabric. The tent is like new, but goodbye crappy seam tape. My canvas tents are all folded like they were in the factory. I treat all my tents with care. I take a bit more care treating, and folding a synthetic tent so the fabric lasts longer, and doesn't wind up looking like a crumbled old looking thing.
When l researched my Oztrail Tasman 4 person nearly all the reviews said bag too small for tent. The salesman guaranteed me its not. They just dont know how to fold it. Its my first tent and being 5 feet nothing it was a struggle to put it up alone let alone get it back in the bag. The fly sat stuffed ono the back seat of the car for a month until this! Not quite as easy as you did it 🙄 but its in! Thank you!

I don't want to damage the zipper from holding more do I want leave the tent up in the day so I just roughly fold it into a carry on luggage.
