Comparing last year’s perfect biking conditions to this year’s forecast 20 mph cross headwinds on the hill to Hawi, and 10mph headwind from Waikoloa to the airport? I don’t think so.
I have the same power meter. They need to get rid of the magnet. If you notice he has a white cover over it. It is a bit ugly. Luckily it is small and most people would not notice. I am still suspect about left and right power numbers if they are accurate.
Not the regular arione thats found on road cycling. It is Arione K series which has much more paddings especially at the nose. They don't sell em anymore though.
Well I run ospw’s on my road and TT bike Look great - particularly the 19tooth model on dura ace 9100 Do they work - kiss goodbye to smooth quick shifting - I am guessing the research was done and like the got talents tv programmes it’s a no Having said that maybe marginal gain with a SLF Motion Hyper - A jockey wheelset with a fairing 🙈
Fast fitness tips channel pretty much destroyed ceramic speed - my own 2 cents aside from the changing gear, the limit on sprocket size on cassette is their is a theoretical watt gain with chain line I do however buy into the 165 cranks - however all my bikes are blessed with 172.5 until I chop one of them in
Yep - Princeton Carbon - side note I am running Zipp 454 front and 854 rear NSW’s once wind gets over 15kph front will stall the wind shear Brutally! Not enough to throw me off but enough to back off 10-15kph on descents etc (Pin F8) The idea works but you still need to hang on when it’s windy - but in conclusion when I put them on over my shallow rim Mavic I am 2-3kph faster for same power
I thought Mark's pronunciation is way better than GCN's attempt from last year, who went for an english version. At least, they said they cannot pronunce that.
trainer road has awesome training plans available (either $20/month, for $190/year), and they plans for Ironman, half, etc. They include all swim, bike, run workouts, plus their podcast and forum have so much information. Zwift has training plans, but I think that's more specific towards cycling. However, I can be very wrong .They do have applications open for Zwift Academy Tri 2020 if you're also interested in qualifying for Kona. Other alternatives would be using TrainingPeaks plans (pay one time for the whole plan), IRONMAN may have training plans (I'm like 60%sure that they do; if not they have info on nutrition and training in general), Triathlon Taren also has a new training platform as well, Matt Dixon has a podcast (Purple Patch) and book you can use (Fast Track Triathlete). One more option off the top of my head: join a tri team (collegiate or club) and sometimes they have training plans (or a coach for advice and a bit of guidance if you're lucky); not all teams provide that, but a few do. Good luck in your endeavor! -Fellow uni student
Cam is pretty cocky guy so I hope someone bikes faster than him this weekend. However with a Bike like that, I think he will be the fastest guy on the bike this year.
The fastest gear on that bike is 56-11 now if you compare this to Chris Boardman, who broke the hour record multiple times, on one of the occasions that Boardman broke the hour I remember he was using 52-12. So if one of the greatest ever specialist time trialists in the world has 52-12 then that triathlete might be over gearing, or just gearing unless he wants to be pushing it on loads of down hill sections. No triathlete will ever come close to the ability of a pro cyclist on the bike. Boardman is the only guy in the world who in a tour de France prolog has caught his minute man. If you are pushing a harder gear than Chris Boardman then you're over gearing. When you look at the 165 crank arms that will help someone who doesn't spin enough who just tries to over gear it and push a gear that is just too hard. For this bike I'm guessing that whoever rides this could benefit from using the rollers or a fixed wheel bike in training to help his pedal speed. And I would say take the 11 and 12 off the cassette to make it more of a straight through until you really need some big sprockets. If your having problems with your cadence then the last thing you want on a bike is big jumps between gear ratios. This bike might belong to some great triathlete, but I'm guessing from the bike and knowing nothing about the rider that there are problems.
Matthew Baynham Hello mate, I just think that Cameron’s preferred cadence is lower than that of Chris Boardman. Cameron has an average cadence of 82rpm on his strava, so a larger gear ratio is necessary to cover the same distance. Chris on the other hand set his record at a cadence of 105rpm. Additionnally, a larger gear ratio means less resistance due to chain friction (that is the science behind the ceramicspeed oversize pulley wheel for example). Neither is better or worse, it is just a question of the cadence at which the rider feels most comfortable to unleash the watts. Besides, Cameron Wurf is an extremely talented athlete and his accomplishments are truly impressive. I wouldn’t question his abilities, or go as far as saying that his choices are wrong because chris boardman did something else. They are two completely different athletes.
@@sg-hn2zi Good points in your reply except where you wrote "Additionnally, a larger gear ratio means..." focus on the word "ratio". Larger sprockets would mean less chain friction, but using the word "ratio" is something I would disagree with in your sentence. He is using an 11 sprocket, that's going to be the most chain friction you can get on a cassette.
Matthew Baynham What causes efficiency losses in the drivetrain is how much the chain is bending. In general, more total teeth (front and back) = bigger average radius = less sharp bend on the chain. In theory, Cameron’s drivetrain is more efficient thanks to the 3 extra teeth. But then again, rider preferences are a key aspect of the setup.
Do you think Cam Wurf will break the record for a third consecutive year? Let us know!

yes, getting stupid and ridiculous!
Is there any reason why using GP4000S2 on the front and the new GP5000 only at the back?
Triple 1 or (1 1 1) actually means it's a prototype tyre - not a limited edition

Cams going to rock Kona again this year
I'd like to check the weight (I know it's not important on that kind of bike but I want it anyway) and have a hubb sound like on GCN 😉
Thanks

Still don't understand how Cam is riding this road Fizik Arione saddle for 180 km with World Record.

Because it does not help make him faster. I have never see pro cycling team use it.

This definitely not standard jokey wheels. The red at the center sounds like ceramic upgrade ;)
