The MIL says she can drive heavy equipment and do anything she is asked. Can she put in an IV. Can she listen to someone's breathing and tell if there is a problem. Can she insert a catheter. The point is they each has a skill set that the other has no clue about. The MIL will pop up and claim she could learn how to do anything the DIL can do. In nursing I would have big doubts she could. But I would bet the DIL would have less trouble learning MIL skills. Also the Crack about her not cooking was petty. Some people can be married 60 years and still not know how to cook. Cooking is more than just boiling water. It's an art not everyone can master.

Theres nothing wrong with a man who cooks. I hate that she had to throw that little bit in there. My boyfriend is an amazing cook and baker and he is proud to cook for me and I praise him for it. We are partners, so I do all the prep work and he does the actual cooking and then I do the cleanup. Sorry for the rant but sexist comments like that really upset me

MIL is a Narcissist and jealous of her own son’s wife. As a parent you want your children to grow up, meet and fall in love with a good person and be happy. She is awful, and damn lucky if she doesn’t lose her son and granddaughter for good.
