What if you are seeking ashy results? It seems entirely logical to add the warmth back into your hair after it's been stripped, but it also just seems counterintuitive to use a warm brown color if your desired result is an ashy brown. Or more specifically for me, a mushroom brown result. How do you add just enough warmth to keep from going green while still ensuring you don't end up with a warm brown result?

Hey! I have bleach/platinum blonde hair and I want to dye it to my natural color-which is 6N/6A. I am planning to fill my hair with a copper-orange semi-permanent dye mixing it with conditioner, then use Igora Royal 6.0. Would it work?

HI Nick~ Great Pro Tips :-)
*including as much detail as possible so that you can give as accurate of suggestions/instructions as possible for me and whomever else may need this.
** How about this scenario~ My natural born-with-it hair colour is a very intense, deep dark brunette; not black, but very Irish Celtic Deep Dark Brunette and I carry the red hair gene, so in the light it always had multi-tones like red and some deep purples.
I just started to get some greys; maybe an 1/8 - 1/4 inch of the hair but of course it was in very obviously visible places like my part-line, crown, and temples. Root touch ups were worthless and faded or washed out quickly I believe due to heavily chlorinated/ chemical/heavy metal tap water so I quit trying to cover it.
One feature I have always been identified with is my naturally dark, silky, shiny, fine and medium volume, long, healthy hair.
~My son's solution for me was to follow his lead and go Ultra Bleached Ash Blonde like he did.
The first round was pure bleaching with L'Oreal Quick Blue Powder bleach and a 30 Volume developer after mega conditioning.
Of course I had 'hot roots' and pretty much looked like a tiger deep orange red only on the hot spots- roots, hairline, crown.
I wore a hat for 2 weeks so my fine hair was not so damaged for the next Round of processing.
This time we used the Quick Blue Bleach and a 20 developer ONLY on the Tiger Red parts.
3rd processing was a couple of weeks later and we used the Quick Blue Bleach with a 20 vol. developer on the entire head of hair.
Ok; this whole time we were told to ONLY be using the Shimmer Lights Purple Shampoo and Conditioner to keep the hair this new pale yellow blonde. My hair was not 'my' silky shiny beautiful hair anymore though; it was very damaged even with intense Keratin Pak conditioning treatments and I did not like the Beachy Yellow Blonde Color.
So- step 4 was to use the Wella Color Charm Toner and a mild volume developer; I think we used either the T14 or T 18 and FINALLY it worked!! my hair was a beautiful pale ash blonde not platinum, just really pretty. BUT once my own naturally deep dark brunette hair started growing out of course the natural RED tone in it along with its deep brunette colour emerged and looked stark and strange next to the sheer pale ash blonde the remainder of it was.
The woman at the Sally Beauty supply said that 'all you need to do is Quick Blue Bleach the roots and only use a 20 volume developer and only leave it on 10-12 minutes and rinse it out, then a week or 2 later you can apply the Wella Color Charm Toner T14 or T18 on that part again.
I did exactly as directed and my hair broke off at the roots in several places at the back of the crown and on top of my head; like really short on the top layer of hair but yes it worked and it did bleach out the regrowth of Red roots.
Now here we are 5 months down the road from when I first started this Ultra Blonding process and I want my Natural Dark Brunette Hair Colour back AND I want to cover those grays; which actually came back multiplied after all of this blonding.
** I watched your videos on 'HOW TO FILL IN WITH RED SEMI OR DEMI PERMANENT COLOR' FIRST and then COLOUR IN WITH WHATEVER MY CHOSEN CHOICE MIGHT BE WHICH IN YOUR VIDEO WAS A 3N.
Since I and many of us out here are not licensed cosmetologists and can't buy the Redken Shades EQ 6 CR to go back to Dark Brunette; what Colour Line(s) and Shades would you recommend for me/us when many of us shop at Sally Beauty or other beauty supply stores? I want to try the ZOtos Age Beautiful Line with their Bonding Developers because they say they have melanin and keratin and other helpful ingredients to help with aging hair.
I would need the Red semi or demi permanent colour and whatever developer in a 5 or 10 vol. to fill in like you said
then the 3N or whatever colour in Permanent + what level of developer to get my hair back to dark brunette.
And most importantly- What color and what type and what level of developer do I use to cover or highlight the grays?
** Could I leave out some of the grays and ultra ash blonde before filling and coloring the hair and then go back over those areas with a lighter brown for 'highlights over the grays? Sort of a 3 Step process; Fill, COlour, Highlight?
Thank you! Hope your reply can help lots of us :-)

If someone put brown over blonde without filling previously leaving the client with a level 6 muddy light brown with slight green tones at the end couldn’t you still cancel out the unwanted green tones by doing the same steps in the second video? Placing Redkin shades 6cg or 6cb let process, wash, dry, then go back in with their goal level 4N for a nice neutral dark brown?

Yes, I would clarify the hair or you some kind of gentle color extractor first just to lift more tones out. Give her a mask to even porosity, then fill and color :)

I went to a hairstylist and I’m pretty sure they I didn’t filled my blonde hair before. I want to be darkest brown but my hair look splotchy. If they used permanent dye can I still strip my hair w harsh soap and use the toners you mentioned and then used a 2N or 3N on top?

I was thinking of going a dark brown. My hair is bleached blonde, but my roots are a dirty blonde, not a dark brown. So I was wondering if that means I need to fill using a different color? I was just confused because most of these videos are directed towards people going back to dark brown, but I’ve never had dark brown hair before. Should I still fill my hair? Thanks!❤️

Great advice, how about coloring 70% silver to a black or brown with the silver? Embracing the silver, or maybe coloring the roots to a mahogany brown without hot roots?
    Thanks in advance ☺

When you add the warm brown, do you combine it with a developer? Something low like 6% vol?

I believe 10 volume would do because you're not trying to go lighter

I’ve got a level 9/10 bleach full head with regrowth level 6/7... do I still use the same filler you used but put a 6n on instead to match my roots? Thanks :)
