  • **We recorded this months ago. Since then Devil Pig Games have seemingly gone under and our money is gone re: The Pacific. That doesn't change my opinion of the gameplay, but yeah, looks like we're taking a bath on that one.**

I think I am correct in saying, devil pig games closed their doors. I do not think that the Heroes of the Pacific is going to print as a result. That makes me sad because I have just about everything they made short of heroes of Stalingrad, I very much liked the system and hope that it will be a way to bridge my son into gaming either way hex and encounter or miniatures games

I love the Heroes games, shame the business wasn't well managed. I've got everything except Shadows (which i regretfully sold). I store all my units in storage/hobby boxes, organised by unit colour bands. Extra storage makes the set up so much quicker and easier if you want to play crossover games, say 40k Orks vs Soviets😉. The latest rules are still a bit unclear but i've never played a bad game of it, they're always fun and/or funny. I hope Pacific get salvaged.

Having only recently found out about this game I was hoping to see some of the components, for a 21 minute video there was only a few seconds showing the counters near the end of the video.

I love the art work and the ease of play. It really presents beautifully as a miniatures board game. I like the series a lot. Luckily, I acquired essentially all their WWII products before they folded - and dodged the never to be delivered Pacific. It would be nice if these products could be resurrected, but I'm not holding my breadth. I've used necklace storage boxes for the counters. Even though no longer produced, this is really worth looking into.

Amazing game horrible company. I have almost everything printed. Love the orders and the tokens and the ability to mitigate the dice rolls. In all honesty the Shadows over Normandie system is great. It is not a "lark". I found that the best storage system is small Tackle boxes. The first edition rulebooks are some of the worst I have read. The new books are much better. Again it is a shame that such an amazing system was owned by such inept businesspeople. They almost went out of business multiple times and actually ran a Pig back form hell kickstarter to save their company. Should have just sold the system and gone under. Yeah I took a bath on Pacific. My claim is in with the Bankruptcy attorneys.

@Alexander; This plays great when you put 6mm minis down for the game( Bacus/GHQ sales hint hint and then you have mico armies to use in Panzer, and many other board games ). Its so a minis game in a box.

Thank you Gents for the upload. Always has been curious how you liked the system. It’s been on a market for quite a why now. I wandered if you gave up on it or simply there was so many games and so little time.
    Cheers

I like to play the game without the cards, this way the fog of war from orders matters a lot more as does predicting what your opponent is planning.

The company went out of business, so the Pacific version is basically history, so to speak. That money has gone the way of all unfulfilled campaigns.

They have a 40k game in the system too.

Just goes to show that if you see it and play it and like it, buy the extras and add on's before they stop printing it or go out of business.

Very few board games are better on the iPad. This is one of them…simply due to storage and set up. Oh…and the pew pew sounds.

By the way how are you, the expansion adds lots of options to the system, much needed imho , Black Reach has some beautiful map boards and shadows is the best as U get 3 armies in the box, the whole thing is a rabbit hole , no way out buDd 😎👍

Can still get some but not the solitaire box and I won't buy without that. Greg and Alexander, don't bother with bankrupt systems,

Thank GOD funagain or whoever was originally slated to do shipping on the Caen stuff fell through and it it didn't deliver until AFTER the Pacific campaign kickstarter ended! I was all ready to pull the trigger on an all-in for it, but made a deal with myself that I couldn't do any more crowd funding until I had the the previous ones in hand. It's a bummer that they went under, I was looking forward to eventually adding Pacific to the collection. Now I just have to settle with picking up 1st edition stuff here and there when it goes on sale (which it does for crazy cheap) seeing as it's all compatible.

why not show the game boards and the units? Is there a copyright problem? Yes you are both attractive but we would like to also see the game components occasionally.

O,M,G, there's at least 100 scenarios just playing one side , that's not Including the Shadows , Shadow Hunters, Desert Wrath , Civilians under fire , Black Reach, Dust, Guardians, Cathulu lot , u can even get cards for all the WW ll armies to tackle the deep ones, mythos lot ,(if U can get them ), !!!!! One rule's set basically and u should master it !!!! , yes a little card counting needed, lol, get familiar with the cards, yes u have to know what the opponent has , like if u haven't seen it and he hasn't played it ,and you don't want him to play it , well u have to assume the YUP , the worst , ps learning new rules is the pits unless you have 2 hours to waste,,,, thus and still not getting it ,,,,blahvblah blah blaggggh arggggh 🕊️😊👍

Great game, great designers (Yann and Clem)! Sadly, the design and production rights were bought by a 3rd party. This new company badly mis-managed the game, lied to the designers, and let it die.
Yup, there was a 40K version of the game called Heroes of Black Reach. There is also a computer game available on Steam for the base game plus an expansion or two.

There is some errata for this game; unfortunately, Devil Pig Games is the only company I know that sells their errata back to their client. With shipping it cost more than the game. Pretty scummy.

GMT is selling their errata (replacement) counters right now for some games that are fairly new. So they are not the only ones.

The solo system is ridiculously complex and doesn't cover everything in the system. It was a big disappointment for me. I love the game and I hope someone picks up the IP and runs with it.

I think you can give the solo another try. I played it also some times and first i had the same issues like you. i searched bit arround get some conclusions from orher solo players and now its a very nice and also hard experienxe to play solo. Im with you, hopefully somebody take over the IP and maybe the designers and brings pacific on its way again.
