I am also a home crafter. I make cards for family and friends. I like a lot of your ideas. I am glad I found your channel. A while ago I saw someone who did a "catalog" of their stamps and dies. I tend to think of my products by company, so all my Lawn Fawn products are together, etc. When I get a new set, I photocopy it, like you, and put it in a binder by company. I have a lot now so I realized I was forgetting about some. Now I can sit down with my binder and look at the pictures of what I have and plan the next card. I also have a binder for my glimmer foil plates and my betterpress plates pictures. This was a ton of work to get going because I had a lot of stuff to photocopy but I think it was worth it. Now I just try to keep up with it. I like your embossing folder technique and I will do that as well. I also sew, but, lol, that is a whole other room!!
Awesome! The organization is almost half the battle with crafting. I have not gotten into the hot foiling yet- you'll have to let me know if you love it or not. I do the foil flakes and it seems to scratch the itch for now. I'm going to try the binder too. My method is outgrowing itself. Thanks so much for your comments- I love meeting fellow crafters. And thanks for watching!
No need for embarrassment regarding your "before" - I think all of us (well, most of us) have been there at least a few times in our crafting life (if not regularly)! How wonderful to have a supportive and handy hubby. Those shelves are gorgeous and love that topper for standing! Such a refreshing change of pace to see non-white shelving! Your craft room is amazing, and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
You are so welcome! I agree, I almost hesitated to post it as most have these elaborate organizational contraptions plus reams and reams of color coordinated paper. You get it. Thanks for watching and your sweet comments.
Have watched this probably 3 timed. It's great because I make cards just for family , friends, and church. I use a magnetic bowl from Harbor Frieght to corral small dies. ❤
Wow, that makes my heart happy! What a great hobby this is. I'm a little bit of an overdoer and a bit perfectionist. This is such a great outlet for me to be creative, less precise and I take my time. It's a joy! I'm glad you enjoyed my craft room renovation- I am thankful for it every single time I craft cards. Everything is so easy to get to and easy to find. Thanks for watching! And commenting ☺️
love the fact that you cut your stamps up and dont store them by company name or what have you, you are the first person that does this that i have seen, i do it too! i mix up all my different companies and store them by "sentiments" etc and use my label maker to tell me whats inside the cases. i do have some stamps stored the "normal" way too, but i use stampin up cases to mix up a lot of my stamps, it works for me! by the way i am going to see if my nephew can build me something similar to what your hubby built you, thank you so much for sharing ! 💜
Thanks for your comments! I have another video coming out soon where I talk about some of my "not so normal" organization techniques. I hope that is useful too. These cases are great but not quite as wide as the Stampin Up ones. But they are thicker, so I get more in them, but have to cut them up a but more. I'm so glad the video helped. Thanks for watching!!!
Wonderful! Isn't it the best hobby? I'm in my happy place whenever I get to craft cards...and now its such a pretty happy place. Thanks so much for watching!
Yes, I’m in love with my new space. I’m definitely crafting more as a result, just because the space feels so pretty and useful. Thank you for the nice comments!☺️
Great space! One piece of advice, store your spectrum Tri blends horizontally. When they are vertical all the ink will “pool” towards the bottom making the top marker seem drier than the bottom color. That will be the same if the middle nib is pointing upward when stored. 😉 just turn your box sideways. 😊
Such a great tip!!! I am using a tissue box for them…ha! But I will store them horizontally, makes sense! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment…and watch.
Hi Jen, your room is great! I can tell you that as a StampnUp demo you have your ink pads stored incorrectly. The pads are automatically upside down. So the ink is always at the top. By doing them the way you have them the ink is pooling at the bottom. I do agree with you that it is the best ink, beautiful colors that go with all of their cardstock. Thanks for sharing, great video.
Oh thank you! I just figured that out a few days ago when I watched someone from Stampin Ups' video. Ha! Leave it to Stampin up to figure that out! I love those stamp pads!!! Thanks for letting me know and for watching!!!
What a gorgeous and beautifully organized space! I love your idea for using the magnetic tape on the putaway box. I am definitely going to try that!! TFS!! 💕
Girly, I have never seen stamps stored the way you do it. To each their own! I have way to many stamps to be able to do it that way. I do the acrylic bin with my stamps in Avery Elle pouches. I love your craft area and I wish my husband would build shelves for me! I subbed. Thanks for sharing your ideas and I look forward to more videos!
I know, a little different but it works for me. And when they get too crowded I seperate them further. I may need to change down the line... we'll see! Thanks for subbing and for taking the time to comment!
Hi Cathy - thanks for watching! To answer your question, do you mean the standing desk box that my husband built me? If so, that sits on top of the desk and I have a mat under it to protect the desk. The box moves a tad, but the shelving is right behind it so it can't move but an inch or so. I would say you could put those non-slip furniture pads under it like this ( I am not affiliated, just a thought): www.amazon.com/X-PROTECTOR-NON-SLIP-FURNITURE-PADS/dp/B06XG8GHYD/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1AO6SDMJKD5H4&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.SxEh3MBIABu7OdQKj81FEnCeH2LwAEBBSsc0K577ALmrSUCk4Kvlmf1iLGa7zqlSCfg2Vn4oMl8Eamoq9GpY3MMTN9dbC3dPYmCU2v9-lsiweed74LCF4TMtjOwvGCTWniFeJHB8WzsVloLy8W2LZeSbg2QcBcTks-0W6qvY23KWewF8HcP9Pkp8DyiSiIO13agm3kOyzoTM29-vf_vNKgbndesad32yDMbxTTmasB8TlNB--HS4jAMHOPY94jzs3JEOUF2LvozpLu-doAL1S2xyTHwoKF6-BUCWsBiS7-Y.NWwlH3qMx8lEVS1gud85HP47BchIc0nXbCU_BvB6Ggc&dib_tag=se&keywords=sticky+pads+for+furniture&qid=1710792871&sprefix=sticky+pad%2Caps%2C125&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1 I hope this helps! I like it to move as I need to get to the tools behind it and move it off and on my desk at times. Thanks for leaving a comment!
I have a few lights in my craft area, but I think in the video the only one you see is the one I use to create my card crafting videos which is above my crafting desk? That Ring Light (Ring Light Kit:18"/45cm Outer 55W6700k Dimmable LED Light, Tripod Stand, Remote Controller, Box for Camera) is from Amazon, here is the link (I am not affiliated): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09J56CXTY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I hope this helps. If you meant a different light, let me know. Thanks for your kind words and for watching!
Love everything about your craft space! I'm new so was looking forward to seeing all your doggos , looked at your photos on the shelf for them even lol. Also....do you happen to have the list you showed of all the sizes of cards and bases , like a link where I can get it please? I only do cards for family too (when I have time) and have my channel just to show what I'm making, I don't sell anything either, all just for my hobby and keep my anxiety down. Thanks so much for taking time to be so thorough too. Hugs from Ontario, Barb
Thank you! I have a website that has the measurements in a previous comments. I’ll find it and comment again. I have a video about my 5 rescued dogs so you can “meet “ them that way☺️ thanks for watching and for commenting!
Nice, may I borrow your husband? I bought ikea kallax units and they do the job, but yours look nicer, as they should being an open space. Enjoy, and keep on crafting. Just subscribed, T4s
A lot of people use those IKEA ones, so they must be good. We have low ceilings as it’s a loft so this set up worked better for the space. Thanks for watching! I appreciate the comments too!
Thank for watching and the nice comment. Usually you use metal dies to cut out shapes. But you can also buy them already cut- like butterflies, flowers, etc. they are pretty and offer some dimension. I hope this helps. If you want me to send you examples I can email or messenger you. Just let me know.
I will make a video soon. You can take chip board or other media and add embossing powder to it. You'll need parchment if you want to experiment... enjoy! Thanks for watching.
I just found your channel and I am thrilled to find a stamper/crafter so much like me! I would love to know how I might obtain a copy of your envelope sizing chart, please? Oh, and btw, of course, I have subscribed! Thanks so very much
Hi, thanks for watching and I’m glad you found is to be so similar! I can email you a copy of the envelope sizes? Just email me at jentasticjourney@gmail.com and I’ll respond with the document.
Hi, thanks for the comment- and for watching! I got them on Amazon! Here is what they are called-“Sanfurney 36 Slots Ink Pad Holder and Stamp Pad Storage Organizer for Stampin Up or Ranger Ink Pads Diamond Painting Tray Rack for Crafts Supply, Stackable Wall Mount”. They have different ones for different ink brands. Stampin Up and Distress Oxides don’t fit in the skinnier ones. I hope this helps! Look forward to seeing you in future videos! P.S.my daughter is a NICU nurse! 👩⚕️
I wish I could ask my sister to pick them up for me but she "has a thing" about Hobby Lobby and won't step foot inside any of their stores. Don't ask! 🤣
Oh that is a bummer, they are so functional and pretty. Maybe they will come back in stock... I wonder what your sis doesnt like about Hobby Lobby. Their stuff is well priced and I feel like I am in my happy place when I am there...so many crafts and decor😉
