Upgrading to the Ryzen 9 5950X would have been enough for your bottlenecks. But agree about the quick sync thing on the Intel chips igpu for video editing.
I'm trying to build a rig for Starfield and the Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty expansion, looking to make it future proof while targeting 4k at 60-120fps. I also intend to use it for video editing. Hence, I figure this CPU would be a good fit. I'm curious - what kind of cooling and power solutions would you recommend for i7 13700k paired with an RTX 4080? Should it be a 1000W power supply? I'm somewhat reluctant to make the switch towards water cooling - what are the things I should know about it? Do you think a Peerless Assassin dual tower air cooler would work?
I think the AM5 platform got more lower power CPU that works very well with air cooling.. and I mean they did get shipped with air cooler like those 7600-nonX 7700-nonX and 7900-nonX.... in some ways I think even the 7800X3D works well with a good air cooling solution... maybe not optimal.. but.. still works.. I am using one with BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4.
A dual tower cooler is a must for a 13700K if you’re going air cooling. I recommend the Noctua NH-D15. A 1000W PSU will also work great with your setup.
That difference is huge, it is prolly best to not buy the best cpus when they come out and get the mid or high range cpus as you are paying a less but loosing minimal performance. Buying the i9 and R9 is kinda wasting money as the i7 and R7 CPUs and handle most of the tasks good nower days.
I agree somewhat. Some workloads will require the extra cores, but for gaming and a lot of workloads, the i9s and Ryzen 9s are a bit overkill. Incredible value can found with the i7s and Ryzen 7s though! What CPU have you got in your PC at the moment?
I think GTA V will stutter if you max out the engine. Usually have to enable vsync or something to get rid of this. I've ran into the same issue and thats what my comments said.
Okay, but you upgraded the entire system just to get stuck on a dead-end platform, and will have to replace the motherboard and CPU the next time you want to upgrade again, unless you want to upgrade to the 13900K, but that's not going to be a meaningful upgrade except for heavily threaded performance, and the 7950X is already a better alternative than the 13900K for heavily threaded workloads, especially because of the huge efficiency advantage.
If his current motherboard can support the 5800X3D.. that will be quite a good upgrade for gaming without spending on a new motherboard... until he build a newer PC on the next gen of Intel or the AM5.
It did, but I mainly use this PC for video editing first and gaming second. The 5800X3D isn’t a great value in premiere pro. (Performs worse than a 5800X)

Sweet upgrade pal enjoy 🎉
Thank you mate! Did you see this big of a performance uplift when you upgraded?
Nice upgrade and performance bump
I know right! I never knew I was losing so much performance and I hope this video could be useful for anyone who potentially has a CPU bottleneck!

@@ProYamYamPC I currently have the R5 5600X but planning to get the 13600K in the future or the 14600K whenever that comes out.
power consumption?
Well deserved upgrade
Thank you bro! Have you got any upgrades planned?
@@ProYamYamPC nah bro I’m good at this moment maybe ram in the future

Thanks for letting me know! I was wondering why it did that. So basically, I'm suffering from success?😂
And the Power draw? XD
Way more with the 13700K😂

I mainly use Premiere Pro for video editing work. I went with Intel because of QuickSync. It really helps with my workflow
@@ProYamYamPC Yeah for productivity software.. cannot go wrong with Intel.
Also I think that 14th gen is gonna be refresh of 13th gen, So probably it will support Current Lga 1700.
