No I haven't seen theTV series but I did watch the 2008 Italian Film (very grim). Yes Pompeii is definitely worth a visit. The cruise ship was very nice.

Glad you enjoyed it. We've been to Crete a few times but this was the first time by cruise ship. Crete is a popular summer destination for us Brits. We really enjoyed the ship and would book a cruise on it again. By the way, we will be heading to the USA in October, we're doing a transatlantic.
The food is good and there's plenty of places to get it. The drinks would be the issue, these can be quite expensive. There is included iced tea, lemonade coffee and tea in the buffet during meal times but everywhere else you would have to pay.

I’ve been playing around with the idea of Arvia from Southampton around the Mediterranean. I’ve done Sky and Regal on Princess, and love the Princess ships. I have done 1 P&O on Azura and wasn’t a fan (possibly because it’s an older ship) As you’ve done both Arvia and Sun would be grateful for your opinion. Tia 🥰
We loved Arvia on our transatlantic cruise, there was plenty to do and a choice of included restaurants. However, the quality of food and service on the Sun Princess was far better.
@@lorrainej4555we really love Arvia though and liked the included restaurants 6th st Diner and the Mediterranean restaurant. Food is better on Sun Princess though but Arvia has been our favourite ship so far

@@lorrainej4555I think the staff on Sun Princess are probably more cheerful but the staff on Arvia are good too. Maybe main dining room staff are better on Sun Princess. I’m sure you will have a good time on both

The included food was very good. Although the choice of included dining venues weren't as good as Arvia.
