Thanks for watching the fourth annual MAVERICKS AWARDS, recognizing outstanding achievements in big wave surfing across three exciting categories for both men and women. This renowned event brings together the world's top surfers and videographers, celebrating their remarkable feats on the towering waves of Mavericks, California. The in-person event is taking place on May 4th at the San Benito House in Half Moon Bay. We're excited to premiere the show for all the fans at home to watch starting at 9pm PST.

These exceptional surfers and videographers have demonstrated unparalleled skill and dedication in their pursuit of big wave mastery. The Mavericks Awards offers a $25,000 total prize purse, with 60% of the winnings going to the athletes and 40% to the videographers capturing their breathtaking rides.
Winners are chosen by an esteemed panel of big wave experts and veterans in the big wave community, including: Mavericks pioneer Jeff Clark, 3-time Mavericks champion Darryl “Flea” Virostko, award-winning surf photographer Fred Pompermayer, former WSL Big Wave Tour judge Heather Hamilton, and Santa Cruz Waves founder and former Mavericks competitor, Tyler Fox.
“We are excited to host the fourth annual Mavericks Awards in Half Moon Bay,” said Mavericks pioneer and Mavericks Awards Co-Founder, Jeff Clark. “I wish we could give everyone a trophy,” continued Clark. “There were several swells this season that arrived much bigger than forecasted with magical windows of clean conditions. There are always a few surfers that find their place on the edge at Mavericks, and now they’re coming from all over the world with the hopes of that one magic moment, and it does happen, but you have to be truly committed.”

The Mavericks Awards is a digital video performance contest in which big wave surfers and videographers submit their best surf content from Mavericks from the entire winter season. Founded by Jeff Clark and Chris Cuvelier, our mission is to celebrate Mavericks and the brave men and women that surf it.
