That's probably what Volvo was hoping LOL I know it would be hard for me to give it back but good God at what it takes to move it hopefully he can get a heaping scoop to where it only takes 3 to fill Barney only thing that may hold him back is counterweight
@@lmsendit9531 adding a day at either end of the job plus an enormous cost to move it and add a other run for the bucket. Then you can't capitalise it unless you run two site loader trucks so it must be close to the same thing as running 2 smaller machines or just taking longer. I was really surprised it couldn't pick a bucket of mud at full reach
My company had a Cat 374 delivered recently had custom built undercarraige extanded 2ft on each side it ran down the road 16' wide on the trailer. Spread out to like 20' 6" or so. We had 2 wheel loaders help spread the tracks out. Pretty big ordeal to do that, bolt counter weight, and pin the 30ft stick on.
I wonder how much equipment Volvo sells as a result of seeing on the letsdig18 channel. I bunch I bet! New Challenge - pick up an egg with this beast. It would be a lot handier if the big bucket had a thumb.
Loaded out the same as your other excavators, and probably a bigger counter weight, this thing would put in the work! Though time saved with it working would have to balance out the extra transportation effort.
one heck of a production getting the big machine off the trailer and then finally going down your driveway, AFTER you put pieces of the trailer back together, LOL..Digging will not be an issue but seeing a issue, concerning how close you have to be to any dirt you are removing, since you can not reach as far to put the piles a bit further away from you, without the machine tilting and tipping to one side or the other.

I’ve seen these trailer hauling before but never seen how you disassemble em and stack em like this. I’m glad you filmed this process. Quite the operation.
Check out JPAYDIRT's web sight, every time he has to move his D9 Cat dozer, or his Cat Scrapers he uses a similar rig with the jeeps
@@jmwarden1 I like how the scraper becomes the frame of the trailer.
@@Kriss_L If they move them with a cradle setup yeah
Gets a 550 to move yardage, instantly body slams tree before getting dirt on bucket. Lol I love it.
Chris, your skill is amazing with these machines. It's like watching a pitcher pitch a no hitter. I'm a big fan, that is a true beast.
Is that a gift from the Duck mafia 😂
Mr Donnie could haul that, just needs a scout vehicle to run ahead and spot for DOT!
He might need more than two chains to hold this one on!
Man!..Can’t wait to see this big girl really get to work!💪🏼💪🏼
Those transpo guys were making me nervous. They were putting out that... 'We don't quite know what we're doing'... vibe. Looks good though! Who knows, you might have a whole line of scrapers some day.
Thought the same thing. With the way they were doing things they have been VERY lucky so far.
@@Blazer02LS That whole operation had me waiting for a disaster! 🚑🚑🚑🚑
They were crazy being under the load the way they were. One pop of one chain and one of those guys were going to be lights out. What's this machine cost if one is not lucky enough to have a partnership with Volvo?
Awesome Chris congrats on the big girl can't wait to se more vids of it in action
Love these kind of videos thank you very much for this one let's enjoy
Chris, you are so much higher off the ground in this one you're a big boy now your not gonna want to give it back when your finished with it
That's probably what Volvo was hoping LOL I know it would be hard for me to give it back but good God at what it takes to move it hopefully he can get a heaping scoop to where it only takes 3 to fill Barney only thing that may hold him back is counterweight
This has got to be the T.REX of excavators… What a beast!!!!
A couple of those helpers had me stressing. Too many people.
And giving contradictory singles, glad no one got hurt.
Loaded out the same as your other excavators, and probably a bigger counter weight, this thing would put in the work! Though time saved with it working would have to balance out the extra transportation effort.
The size comparison between the two buckets is IMPRESSIVE!
WOW what a beast... can't wait to see how much dirt it moves....
Beauty machine. You're gonna have fun with that one. Looks like you may need a bit more counter weight though. Have fun with it.
one heck of a production getting the big machine off the trailer and then finally going down your driveway, AFTER you put pieces of the trailer back together, LOL..Digging will not be an issue but seeing a issue, concerning how close you have to be to any dirt you are removing, since you can not reach as far to put the piles a bit further away from you, without the machine tilting and tipping to one side or the other.
Now you would think there would be a couple of small rams to push the frames out. Maybe not through the rotary coupling, but just on some QC hoses.
As you could tell from the torque on those holding bolts there must be too much stress on the undercarriage for it to be readily moveable.
That’s how our crawler lattice boom cranes are. They expand the tracks hydraulically. That Volvo seems 30 years behind on that feature.
@@williamdavidson2233 yeah I thought they was years behind on that cuz that definitely should have had some type of hydraulic to slide it in and out itself without needing a second machine
@@bfcmik Holding it with bolts is fine, but automate the movement.
How often do these bigger machines move. Does it make sense to add the equipment if it is only used infrequently.
Nice buddy you making me gels I like to work with the excavations but never with one that big I dug-out a big hole for a 10.000 L water tank.
I use a Volvo excavator 3t it took me a while to get it done, if I had an excavator that size the job would be done faster.
You'd think this is the first time they'd done that.
Edit, the trailer.
Can’t wait to see how many scoops it takes to load the off-road !!
Likely a 6 cy bucket. Compacted in-situ clay is about 109 lbs/cf = 2,943 lbs/cy x 6 cy = ~8.8 tons per scoop = ~3 scoops for a 30T truck. Unless Chris brings on more trucks, that 550 will idle most of the day.
21:41: I thought you were in strawberry shortcake 😂
Nice rig!
Cant wait to see the beast moving earth.
What's the capacity of a bucket like that? 5-8 yds?
Thanks to Volvo for having Chris demo your equipment. Good choice!
I'm happy for you Chris.
Dang Chris, A beast of an excavator for a beast of an operator. What a process to get unloaded.
Finally Chris has been giving a real demo, this is like the holy grail of demo, an only you Chris could pull this off, you've showed Volvo equipment in your videos for years now, what took them so long, gonna be some sweet in cab coming can't wait, thanks for sharing Chris, your channel has been the best for years 👌🇺🇲💪🤙✊
Chris was this revenge for that tree that gave the 220 a hard time
Don't know how far they had to haul it but I guarantee you it wasn't cheap
By the competence of the crew, I'd wager it was the absolute lowest bidder.
I saw you unload that behemoth from the transporter........I thought you had gone crazy and purchased it, but read up on the comments and see that Volvo has placed in your capable hands for demo purposes......it is a HOSS, Chris.......anxious to see what you do with it.........
Feel like Timmy needs to come back to help run all this stuff
what ever happened to him
I think he went on to bigger and better things. No where to move up with Cris he said
@@randywilson6869 fair enough. I feel like he could've moved up with chris, a lot has changed since. You only find these things out by trying though, can't blame him
I think it was the county he went to work for though he did come along a few days on the 5 ac pond job.
I think the buckets too big for the machine unless you put some more counter weights
Did the cameraman about trip back up when you push tree over??
In America 🇺🇸 they do it big. This is a beast! Boy we in for a treat!!
It's nice Chris, I want one now,,, you just need to upscale the new LD thumb to fit, then it's untouchable in your town.
Holy shit I can’t believe they sent you that monster. I was hoping for the 750 or 950 but that’s a much different transport and then assembly.
This is why we don’t use these size machines for anything other than massive excavation projects lol. Still badass that you got this opportunity.
Wow it take alot of steel to get that transported better that don't get around like the 220
Well holy guacamole Chris, I know Volvo has even bigger excavators, but this is still impressive. “Who’s Ya Daddy” is on site & ready to go🦾😬 Great video watching the unloading, packing up the trailers & extending the tracks out, quite the operation. Volvo know when they’re onto a good thing with sponsorship. Take care & cheers🐨🦘🥰
When that beast is on the low hauler it's just big
I should add I'm retired heay haul includes RGN
I thought hydraulic cylinders were used for the widening of the tracks, this seems like a lot of work 😮
