Born and bred in Stamford, a true stamfordian not many of us left! Glad you liked it, the traffic is a nightmare and getting worse, we keep trying to tell the council but nobody listens, they’re destroying our town ripping out all of its green space and building on the land, it’s causing chaos and the fumes are blackening all of our beautiful buildings. So sad to see. 😔
Stamford is my local town - so glad you enjoyed it. The A1 (Great North Road) actually used to pass through the middle of the town and over the bridge so although the traffic can be bad now, imagine how bad it could have been if the A1 hadn't bypassed it! Thanks for giving the town such a good review - we love it hear and still find time just to wander around the narrow streets and take in the wonderful surroundings.
Hi, Andrew. In the 1980th I visit Stamford many times as a "german student" in the summer holidays. My Guestmother lived at Melrose Close 8, Sybil Brittle, with her daughter Caroline. I think she married again and relocated. Do you have a suggestion, how I can find her ? - Thank you for using your time. Thankful from Germany
This place is now my favourite town. I would love to live there one day. I went there today for the first time , I spent my day in the park where you were but I didn't see any swans. The people are the most friendliest unlike my home town.
The thing I love about you two is that you are just so natural. No airs and graces just downright decent honest folk…..your vlogs are always very entertaining and interesting. Enjoy your travels and keep safe but goodness, don’t heat the pie, pickle and pie are kings.

Just watched this one Dan & Mazzy, it’s local to us and no surprise you liked it, you should visit again and take in Burghley House and it’s smaller neighbouring town Uppingham and Rutland Water

great to see you guys near to us .great town, we live in the vale of Belvoir 45 mins away, your more then welcome for lodgings if you want a stop gap on your travels .
That’s a nice clean and tidy looking town, with some attractive buildings in it. I can see why it is rated as one of the best towns in England. Some other towns are dives compared to this one. Enjoyed it.Cheers.
We live a mile from Saffron Walden (you should have popped in for coffee 😂) Stamford is a great place too we go there a lot - you missed the grave of the heaviest man buried in 1800’s he was 50 stone !! Looking forward to tomorrows video 😀xx
Hi Dan and Mazzy, what a beautiful place, thank you for the tour, everywhere you looked there was history and the buildings were amazing, the age of them, it didn’t look like any modern influence had got there, which is a great 👍🏻 thing.. I hope you had a great restful 3 days in the haunted pub and hope your birthday was amazing Mazzy.. Take care, love from me ❌❌❌🥰🥰🥰🇦🇺🇦🇺
Nice town, there has been a few films 🎥 made there, Pride & Predudice, Elizabeth etc. If you cross over a bit, Melton Mowbray is ok, grab yourself a proper pork pie 🥧 also a campsite on the edge of town for your campervan...🙂👍🏻
@Dan, the Pillory, to answer your question is also known as the 'Stocks'. Used since medieval times to publicly humiliate criminals by locking them in a standing position in a public place, where locals were free to laugh at and torment. Remember in the old films, villagers throwing rotten tomatoes at the poor villian in the stocks?
It looks lovely that town and that roof looks like its gonna cave in hope they sort that oot or is that the style of it lol..That pie looks really filling and could have it on its own without the chips lol..The next town that your gonna visit mite end up on your best town list as everyone has their own opinion
Loved this vlog Dan & Mazzy. Stamford is definitely on the list to visit one day when we have a little motorhome. Loving this series. That pie looked gorgeous Dan, hope you've got mustard and some pickles to go with it 😉 Mazzy, love that hat xx
Like like this video splendid 🤣😂🤣 😍 Dan & Mazzy 💕 I have a small favour to ask. Dan Told a beautiful history story off a boat ⛵ & 2 airplane ✈️ incident,, I lost vlogx the dates & famous film, name?Pls🤑
"The pillory is a device made of a wooden or metal framework erected on a post, with holes for securing the head and hands, formerly used for punishment by public humiliation and often further physical abuse. The pillory is related to the stocks." From Wikipeadia
Mazzy try taking CBD oil for ya bad leg it has worked wonders for my bad back 8 drops or so under your tongue twice a day and hold it there for 5 mins before swallowing it works great for me ! x
Stamford is lovely, thank you for reminding us to look again with fresh eyes. Being our local town, you just take it for granted. It was the traffic which made us move out of the centre of town, can take ages to get in and out. Are you really going to heat that pork pie? Must be eaten cold - preferably with some pickle 🥰 Will have to get one now!
pillory a wooden framework with holes for the head and hands, in which offenders were formerly imprisoned and exposed to public abuse ... loving your vloggs.... Sue & Colin
Every Thursday I used to deliver to Harrison and Dunn Hardware shop on Sheep Market. I used to park just where you stood looking at the pointy statue 😏. Very interesting in a HGV navigating those streets...
Glad you’re enjoying Stamford, make sure you also have a look at Rutland Water if you have time. Fabulous area of nature and various activities. Pop in to look at the Famous George Hotel before you leave Stamford which you were close to when you walked along by the meadows and on the bridge . I live in a local village with beautiful stone houses and a river. Love our travels too in our motorhome. Glad you liked it 👍🏻
You missed a taste sensation with Stinking Bishop, it has a creamy texture but it does smell. I had to put it in the wrapping it came in and then 2 plastic boxes to stop the fridge smelling! Take care Gill
I doesn’t matter about cloths if you like it wear it, Mazzy you do know it’s ok for women to wear men’s cloths in the name of fashion but when men wear woman’s cloths it weird, why is that? Don’t get me wrong I’m not a cross dresser but I’ve seen some women’s cloths I think look good on men! Through most of human history men and women clothing were basically interchangeable they would wear the same things! Do you know what changed all this what point in history let’s see if you can guess and it had to do with a mode of transportation!
The pillary was the contraption that held one's hands and feet. I believe they are the same as the stocks. The those passing by could curse, spit and throw tomatoes at you...
Beautiful ! I was as a "German Student" in the 1980th many times in Stamford ! Thx for the remembrance !

That took me back. I used to work in the Halifax in Stamford. It's such a lovely place, only downside is you can't get a phone signal anywhere
The tall pointy sculpture is on the site of an Eleanor Cross. There used to be an information board at a viewpoint in the bus station.

I've been to or through Stamford quite a few times. The wooden beam across the road from The George was where they hung highwaymen (not recently).
Beautiful town, clean and tidy. Enjoy your pie Dan. so good Mazzy to see you walking again without pain.
lets hope the pain stays away.
Welcome to our home town, glad you enjoyed it 👏👍🏻
My home town! Born and bred here! Lovely seeing you walk round it :D

Great place you found and really nice buildings , and so many shops , take care both.
When Stamford for first time on Friday loved it.
the busy road through the centre of Stamford use to be the A1 or otherwise known as the Great North Road until the by-pass opened in 1960.
The by-pass doesn't seem to be doing its job.
Been to Stamford a few times lovely town we buy meat online from nelson & grasmere farm online but stopped at Stamford an few weeks ago as came back from North Yorkshire and had breakfast at cafe black

The buildings in Stanford look beautiful 😊
The shop for rent was once Hawleys toy shop, the BEST toy shop ever! Was gutted the day that closed. 😢
I think you are thinking of the battle of Stamford Bridge, which is near York up in your neck of the woods, it was just before the Battle of Hastings.

Nice look round Dan and Mazzy. GoPro is working well. Just check your anti flicker setting - Preferences, General, Anti-Flicker should be 50hz.
Thanks Bob it was on 60hz
@@TravelTrollsTV thought so, GoPro comes set up for American NTSC system which is 60hz. Means you see the Flickering shop Leds running at our 50hz.
