    Hey Grace! I just wanted to comment and tell you how much your videos mean to me. I'm 27, with chronic illness, ADHD and autism. I work but everything is much harder for me. Most of the time I am so exhausted I can't do much outside of work. But where there was once empty silence now is filled with your joy and love of Christmas. I love watching your positivity and feeling included in society by just playing your lovely videos in the background. Thank you grace x

I had to be nosey 😊🤭 so I looked up the prices of your Aromatherapy items and jim dandy that was an AWESOME gift. Hard work and dedication pays of no matter what job you do. Your tree is so pretty! I bet someone has suggested this, but I got the advice years ago to water my tree with a mix of corn syrup and water ( mostly water, of course!) to imitate sap. Keeps it green through the holiday. Yes, I agree about the potted tree :) I got a real tree bc I got my kids all hyped up about the whole festive experience of going to cut one down. & then I immediately felt super guilty :( At least around my area, they will actually recycle them into mulch, which is nice. Next year, I am getting one from Balsam Hill 🎄

    Just a random thought; and I do not know if you are blessed with any lakes or ponds in your area, but maybe you could donate the tree to one. That is what we do with ours. Old Christmas trees are like gold in many ponds, lakes, and rivers. They provide much needed shelter and habitats for fish. Not only does our County Public lake and local river request them, we have sunk several in our own small pond for the minnows, bass and bream. Another great one! Keep spreading the joy.

    Depending where you live it is sometimes possible to hire potted trees, which get replanted by the company when they are too big for people’s houses. Worth investigating (though not cheap obviously). If you only find companies who do this for businesses, consider getting together with a consortium of friends and see if they will work with you…or just keep making repeated requests for a domestic trade arm. If you don’t create the demand they won’t do it.
    Alternatively, do your research and buy the correct type of potted tree which you can bring in multiple years yourself. If you get a slow growing variety and keep the pot on a wheeled unit this can last a long time. Don’t get a quick grower. When it is too large to bring in then there is the possibility of trying to find a local home for it such as a community garden/church/hospice etc with large groups if your garden isn’t large enough. We did this and I think we had it inside for about eight years and in the ground about thirty before it ended up getting taken down after another tree near it damaged it. But it never got very big.
    My elderly parents currently have a’wheeleytree’ which they push outside their patio window every year and put lights on. It’s grown about six inches in four years. It stays outside and they look at it through the window! Inside it a little fake one on a table that is out the way can’t make a mess. Not quite the same but it’s very easy to deal with and costs nothing.

    May I suggest that you get your niece/nephew (congrats to your sister!!!) an ornament every year that relates to their life or interests that year. By the time they get their first tree they’ll have a very personal collection ready to go. Even better if you make them one each year. So special!

  • @daisylarson4936
    @daisylarson4936 7 месяцев назад +1

    Warning against a potted tree ... My in-laws had one and it only stayed small enough to be inside for a few years. They planted it outside and now it's so huge that they have to pay an extra $500 every year on their insurance. Real Christmas trees will last better in a bucket of water. We always had one but even with care needed a fresh one on Christmas Eve to see us through the 12 Days of Christmas.
