I'm transitioning to a mostly plant-based diet (I say mostly because my family and friends aren't well off, so I'm not going to freak out and go off on someone if they try to hand me a hot dog lol) Your channel has given me so many ideas, and even while I'm switching my diet over, I'm cooking some really nice things. Today I sauteed some celery, onions, and garlic, and toasted some orzo, then put in a can of fire roasted tomatoes and some fresh baby spinach. Just a pinch of salt, and it's so amazing :) Thank you for giving me the inspiration to try new things.

I'm starting college in the fall and finally leaving my parent's house! Woo! I think I might try eating vegan or at least eating plant based more often. Problem is, my school is in a place that doesn't have many grocery store options apart from Wal-Mart. And I've never really tried eating plant based before because I live at home and my parents buy all the food. Is there anything that I should know before I try plant based in September? Or any Cheap Lazy Vegan videos that anyone recommends that I watch to help me out?

What an action packed day! I have read that not all beer is vegan. (Hate to burst people's bubbles. Pardon the pun.) Not an issue for those of us who don't like beer. PETA.org has a long list of beers that are suitable for vegans. Just an FYI for those who want to strictly adhere to a vegan lifestyle and who don't want to give up beer.

I don’t really get the 5am wake up thing... so to get 8 hours sleep you’d have to fall asleep by 9 right? Basically in bed ready to go to sleep at 8.50 at the latest. Maybe I’m just jealous you can fall asleep so early so easily haha! I have always been a night owl :)

Perla Aguilar Yay!!! Honestly when I first went vegan I stocked up on the vegan cheese and meat replacements- and I regret it because it’s taking up all of the room I have in my fridge/freezer. If you want to buy alternatives feel free!! But you don’t need them and you can make your own 💕 Rose has some grocery haul videos!! But honestly make sure you stock up on different kinds of beans, rice, vegan noodles, but some vegetable stock/broth, and fruits and vegetables that you like. My go to meal is vegetable stir fry!! One red bell pepper, one green bell pepper, one orange bell pepper, and sometimes one yellow bell pepper, one zucchini, one yellow squash, and one brown onion. Chop them all up to your liking (I usually do slices instead of finely chopped veggies) and fry them in either a bit of oil or some water, or even vegan butter until they’re all browned! I always add some (not a lot- maybe a total of one to two tablespoons) soy sauce while stir frying it along with garlic powder! Or you can use minced garlic instead, just add it in the beginning. Once it’s all fried up I heat up some corn tortillas (most are vegan but make sure that they’re not made with milk or eggs- it’ll tell you in the ingredients if it is) in the microwave for 10-20 seconds, and then I put some mild/hot sauce down in the tortilla before adding the veggies, and then after I put on the veggies I top it off some nutritional yeast (check in your stores bulk section to see if you can buy it in bulk- it’s much cheaper that way!) and shredded lettuce, and sometimes vegan sour cream! I suggest making your own vegan sour cream (Kalel has a recipe I believe- but so do many other vegan youtubers) but if you can’t kite hill has a decent one (it’s not the best but it could be worse) and in a pinch tofutti has one too, but again it doesn’t taste like sour cream so you might have to make alterations to it like adding some lemon to make it taste better. Speaking of, if you feel like it you can top everything off with some lemon and lime juice too, and maybe some cilantro. There are so many good vegan recipes out there, just find some you like and stick with them, and don’t be afraid to try new foods! I’m proud of you. 💕 It’s easier to be vegan if you always think about the animals while preparing meals and eating out. Feel free to talk to me at any time! I would highly HIGHLY recommend NOT stocking up on all the meat substitutes (boca/gardein/etc brand “burgers” and chicken, even Trader Joe’s brand “chicken” and “burgers”), don’t stock up on vegan cheeses either, all of that stuff is so packed with other crap that never processed through your body properly, has tons of sodium which can cause water retention and bloating etc. I’d instead stock yourself up on fruits, veggies (an array of colors, textures, fresh and frozen), find a good vegan seeded bread, peanut butter, soy/almond/coconut milk for smoothies, greens for smoothies and salads, a vegan friendly protein/supplement powder to toss if your smoothies, chickpeas, nuts, tofu. These are all very versatile things that you can use for any meal of the day in various combos, once you get through the initial week or two of going vegan, you may find your tastes have changed, you’ll crave things you didn’t before, like things you hated before and hate things you used to love so buying stock in processed vegan friendly burgers/chicken/cheeses etc is a waste of money to be honest, a box is fine to see if you even like them, I personally have yet to find a vegan burger or chicken replacement that doesn’t make me gag.

Beautiful mountains, cute puppy (what kind of dog is that?). Yea, rodeos suck! I grew up in a town where the rodeo was the big event every year. I was in band, and we always had to march in the parade, which meant a lot of drunk cowboys throwing beer bottles! I only went to the rodeo once when i was about 11, and it totally traumatized me! My friends and I begged their dad to take us home! It was horrible! I agree, they need to stop! Where I live now has a rodeo too (Pikes Peak Rodeo), but you will never catch me there! In fact, I should go protest it!
