    Good to see you back Pierson. I’ve got hardrace arms and have 0 complaints about them, definitely worth going rubber over pillowball for the street, it’s no hassle!

    What i did with my s15 was bought R34 front calipers, lighter than the s15 calipers and is also a 4 pot front, but the R34 runs 310mm rotors so its a cheap brake upgrade. However you have to cut the dust covers to fit the bigger rotors and also drill out the mounting holes as the r34 uses a M14 bolt.

    • @PiersonWillis
      @PiersonWillis  3 года назад

      Ah yes i'm familiar with these kind of OEM+ upgrades. I did a similar thing on my r32gtst - it ran GTR rotors which were 330mm or so? Something like that. I imagine anything with 'R34' infront of it these days costs a bazillion dollars.

      @@PiersonWillis from memory for the two calipers was $400-500ish

    If you do plan on going for a BBK, the Evo calipers are relatively inexpensive and will set you back about 3k for a bolt on assembly including lines, BM57 and all the required adapters from Alpha Omega. If you aren't super fussy you can always look at 350z brembos, about 40-50mm larger rotor size over stock and will fill out the wheels alot more whilst still allowing plenty of choice in wheel specs. See how you go, as other's are saying the R33/R34 brake setups are a bit more of a better Oem alternative if you aren't keen on going all out, but even those parts are getting stupid expensive.

      @PiersonWillis  3 года назад

      I was really just thinking one of those cheap BBK's like ATTKD or D2 etc etc. 330-350mm 6/8pot front's for ~2k.

    another great video man. when i had my s15 i ran slotted DBA rotors from Brake Direct and some project mu HC pads . the pads generated some mad dust but other than that no complaints about either product.
    unless your doing a decent amount of track days a year where your hard on the brakes (not drifting basically) big brake kits imo arent worth it. if you just want to run up and down a mountain and maybe a track day here and there just get some good quality standard size rotors and pads and youll be good rather than paying 2k+ for brembos/big brake kits
    some flashy brembos or some AP Racing callipers are always good for isntagram clout though haha

      thanks mate! yeah 100%. I've never maxed out the stock brakes so I agree a BBK would be overkill most likely. I really just like the look of a large BBK.
      Oh you know me - all about that clout. :p

      Cannot disagree more. Have ap on the front end and projecmu hc80 rear stock callipers and being able to bomb into a corner is the absolute go + being able to pull up from 110 / in Oz kangaroo land

    • @RogueCowTurd
      @RogueCowTurd 3 года назад

      @@brent1835 all that is possible with stock calipers though...
      Having big brakes doesn't increase your stopping power, it just helps prevent brake fade which unless youre being a total fuckwit on public roads, should only be experienced on a track

      No issues so far mate, all is going well as far as I can tell. I'd be happy to recommend the arms if you need some more adjustability over stock.
