  • Watch as I share with you all this informational video showing myself entering the hidden & mysterious “DEALER MODE” on the 2021 Hyundai Elantra SEL interface…
Back in March of 2024, my Reverse Back Up Camera STOPPED Working Completely…
It started off with a glitchy screen and then went to completely NON-FUNCTIONAL.
If my efforts to troubleshoot are unsuccessful in the next few weeks, I obviously am taking the next step and replacing the camera myself.
In this video, I share with you Reverse Camera Voltage Logs present in the dealer mode on the head unit, and erasing and deletions taking place, in an attempt to restart the camera’s function..
Any useful or informative information you may have regarding any of this, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT and SHARE, to HELP ANY AND ALL INDIVIDUALS in the same predicament as MYSELF… Many Thanks in Advance!!
Besides plain old malfunctioning and weatherization playing a factor on my camera, my hopes was and still is, to remedy the issue without having to pay out of pocket.
Please take extreme caution not to alter your own vehicle and user beware.
I am and was very cautious and patient and in a closed safe environment giving myself the time and pace and precision to remain cautious during this particular troubleshooting phase.
If you don’t know what you are doing, please DO NOT proceed in any way I share and show with you’re own vehicle. Proceed and perform at YOUR OWN RISK. I am NOT liable for any steps taken at YOUR OWN RISK. Many Thanks in Advance for your understanding and cooperation!!

    Thanks for watching!! 🤗 🚘 👍

You’re welcome. Sorry to hear about your issue as well… There are more just like us. Looking like this camera on top of the horns on these vehicles are defective. Definitely an inconvenience. It’s looking like a full replacement will be in the works, however I’m still troubleshooting other options at the moment before doing so. I wish you the best with yours!! 🙏 🚘

@@GMoneySaver I figure ta hell wit dis crud! I spent my life looking over my shoulder backing up and I guess I can still remember how to do it.
What gets me is that this is a world wide problem, for years, and yet Hyundai/Kia hasn't said a peep and no Hyundai mechanic has told us how to fix it!
Which is telling me, it's a simple fix but those mechanics are getting rich on this defective car part.

This should definitely be part of the 5 year “60,000 mile” bumper to bumper warranty…
Unfortunately for me, it’s my problem now at “over” that mileage coverage…
I ordered a new camera, and it should be arriving before the end of this month…Looks like a VERY complex top trunk take apart, requiring new seals possibly, to ensure no future water problems incur…
Hopefully I’ll be able to post a video with the step by step process…for some, simple fixes fix the problem…Either way, in my opinion, “this” and the horn should be recalled by Hyundai direct.
Thanks for wondering!! I wish you the best!! 🙏 🚘 📸

@@GMoneySaver i don't think it's the camera...i am having the same issue on a SantaFe2021, and the problem is intermitent: sometimes the camera is displayed, and other times it is not, when in R...i would say the problem is with a module...the camera is not connected directly to the head unit display.

@@sweetmali27 If your mileage is under 60,000 miles, and your vehicle is under 5 years old, you would more than likely qualify for a free replacement camera, or free diagnostic testing at e dealer. Every new Hyundai comes with a complimentary 5 year/60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, where everything is covered by that warranty, with exception to normal wear and tear parts, like tires, brakes, wipers, owner abuse, etc. I hope your mileage is within limits!!! If so, contact your nearest Hyundai dealer to set up a “free” evaluation of your problem at hand!! Best of Luck, and feel free to update us all on your personal outcome!! 🤗

No. I ordered a replacement camera & unfortunately it wasn’t compatible. I tested it prior to unraveling the trunk… I plan on ordering a different one & attempting the change out sometime before winter. For now, I’m doing without. I believe it must’ve shorted out and fried the components of the camera, but until I find a true match compatible, I can’t be certain for now… I WISH, hope and PRAY every day, Hyundai recalls the reverse cameras AND horns for all of their customers!! Until then, I am sorry you are in the same boat as a TON of US!!! If you’re mileage is under the 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, have Hyundai replace it for you FREE OF COST under a warranty claim IMMEDIATELY, before you travel out of warranty… Best Wishes for now & I hope all works out for you & yours!! 🙏

@@freddycontrer69 Nice change! 👍 It’s just ridiculous Hyundai isn’t recalling this “SAFETY HAZARD” ‘yet!’
As I’ve told every one prior, I’ve NEVER had to “have to” change a horn before in the millions of miles I’ve driven within my lifetime on ANY make or model!! Last time I “purposely” changed out a horn was on a 1990 Chevy!! I should not expect any of us to have to do this for a NEW car!! Very upsetting!!

    • @GMoneySaver

Either it’s the camera, a short or maybe even the entire head unit!! 😳 However, I bought a camera online and APPARENTLY it was the wrong match even though it said match… When I have more time next month I will have to try the other part. If it’s the camera, it’s a difficult task to task on taking apart parts of the trunk lid… However, my cars mileage is WAY past warranty…
If yours is still under 60,000 miles and under 5 years old, I’d definitely look into the fully covered replacement at the dealer under the bumper to bumper warranty coverage…
Either way, Best of Luck!! 🙏 🍀
