I have seen Dio many times but the best show I saw (Not counting with Sabbath?Heaven & Hell) was in 2002. It was at a club with about 1500 people and we were on the 2nd level right above the stage. He started with this song. Doug Aldrich was the guitarist then and he is probably the best guitarist Dio ever had and he's had some great ones. Dio made a DVD of that tour it's called "Evil or Divine - Live in New York City".
My heart is warmed that father & Son share music. I do this with my son. He's 25. I'M 57. I GREW up as a teenager in the late 70s to the late 80s! Keep this near to your heart!
Hi guys! Well I thought it went well. I can never tire of Ronnie James voice. The pace was good. It is the kind of song to fire you up for something. I can always like Dio! And Larry added the pollllll Thursday!!
Dio always has at least one fast song on every album and stand up and shout is Holy divers version. I grew up on this stuff so I don't consider it heavy at all.
Well, you know me. I am a happy camper when you react to Dio. Check out their 86' live version of Last In Line and Holy Diver. Thanks and have a great day!🤘
I have this vision of you out in the woods with your pop-up tent and a massive ghetto blaster blasting this out. And then Mr Sasquatch comes along to complain about the noise...
Hola, good to see you guys are back. Dio is one of my all time faves, always something to think about with his lyrics. Great reaction as always, much love&respect💜🤘💙
nice! Always love Dio. If you're looking for live vids, their whole ''Sacred Heart'' concert from 1986 is available online i think.. Rainbow in the dark is great on there, as are other songs you would probably like (Sacred heart, hungry for heaven and Rock N Roll children for example). You can find the DVD version online, but also other ones where the crowd is louder. :)
-love this song ..its like one of those "concert openers" ..the guitar is shredding instead of being a melodic solo...another type of song like this is..WE ROCK...the opener for The Last in Line album...Try it out anyways

Ethan, you're so right - this is perfect for a sporting event (like in WWF, when the wrestlers make their Grand entrance from the back, and make their prideful walk to the ring !) If I we the band's studio engineers, I would've cut the song's length in half - too much energy for it's current length. Great rxn - thanks Ethan & Larry 👍🙂🎶
You should check out Liliac- Holy Diver, Rainbow in the Dark (Official Music Video), The Last in Line (Ronnie James Dio Cancer Fund Tribute). Wendy Dio personally asked them to do that last one and Vinny Appice, Dio's former drummer gave them an unreleased extended version of that track and they had 1 week to learn it. Melody Cristea, Liliac's lead vocalist's inspiration is Ronnie James Dio, she went to his grave and sang Man on the Silver Mountain to him even though she had never met him. Vinnie Appice nicknamed her Melodio and said that he sees her as a reincarnated female Ronnie James Dio. She's humble and super nice too, she collects everything related to RJD. She is 19 years old.
Dio was the one of the best singers ever and his first solo album is stellar. I love this track, but then again, LOVE the heavy stuff. The song is non-stop intensity with no breaks no chance to catch your breath but it still rocks. First song on the album then they slowed it down with Holy diver the second song
Hi Kathy ! Hope all is well. Thank you for the cool comment: Dio isn’t for everyone , but I am happy you hung in there and watched anyway !! Hope you are doing well and staying safe -Larry
Gentlemen. The record stores categorized DIO as "Heavy Metal" or "Metal". RJD put all of his hopes and dreams into starting a new band. He was nearly broke, moved to opposite coast, and threw the bones to try his fate. You agree that this song is anthemic. Indeed, Stand Up And Shout was a concert-opener! There was no better way to whip up the crowd, it was going to be hard-hitting, fast, and a slap in the face. There's no need to complain about how fast Vivian Campbell zerg'd this song. Complain more about why you can't feel the blood in your veins when you hear it. RIP RJD.
I like it fast and heavy. But honestly listening to a song once is never enough. There are songs that instantly hook ya and maybe you tend to tire of them more quickly, but once you really get to know a song, all of a sudden it hits you and then your like "damn this is good"! Then you can thrash around a little and have fun. Lol. Dio forever! Thanks for the song.
Hey guys. Sorry it has been so long since I stopped by to check out one of your reactions but I have been quite busy. I along with others have launched a campaign encouraging reactors to do their best to show as much love as possible to the artist they react to. Providing links to the original video and the official RUclips channel for the artist in the description to your video is a big help. Not many viewers read the description so giving a shoutout, requesting viewers to watch the original video, give it a LIKE and leave a comment certainly helps just like those simple things help your channel. All this is especially true for aspiring artists but even older artists appreciate the support. I am sure the two of you will find your own creative way to inspire your viewers to show love to their favorite artists. Stay well and live life with hope.
