@@JakobArnar Great respect from my side. How do you practice? What’s your routines?
@@hanielertel635 i dont have a routine lol, i just practice the pieces i feel like need most amount of work hahahah
@@hanielertel635 I believe he said 3-5+ hours daily elsewhere on here and goes to conservatory. Generally you just wanna be very regimented and strategic with how and what you practice, if you have a full time job/other work it may not be realistic. His physical technique with regard to weight transfer and mechanism is extremely good. His back is perfect, his elbows are the perfect angle, he uses small and large muscles in combination as opposed to relying on fingers. All this stuff is necessary to play this music. If you play for 10 years but don't figure these things out you don't get anywhere. For example, see how fast you can play the Chopin revolutionary without any weight transfer. The polish pianist Aleksandr Woronicki has some fantastic videos on this stuff! The Taubman approach is amazing as well, but I would mostly recommend that if you happened to find a Taubman instructor. Also talent exists, mostly in terms of how quickly your brain recognizes and retains patterns, but it's not a major deal
@@fink7968 I do about like an hour a week until recently. Took me seven years to get to this level and I regret not spending more time on it lol.

Dude looks like a disney character. But those running notes!! But speaking of progression, i've been playing the piano for 8 years but your progress is faster than mine. Keep up the great work!!!

@@ryansoma6782 that's what i thought as well!
Same, I've been playing piano for 8 years too and low-key feel like a noob watching this, but also I started at age 8, which is earlier than most of the people who's progress videos you see on yt. Adults can often learn better and faster so
I'm 15 years old and I just started playing the violin. I was really frustrated because I wasn't one of those child prodigies and thought that it's late for me to do what I love.
Seeing this video really inspired me and gave me the motivation and determination I needed!!! Thank you very much! Amazing performance!!💜 keep going!!
I've started learning the violin at 14 years old, I thought the same way you are now. My teachers have been reassuring me about my entry to cégep for a while, I don't know if you want to get a higher education in music but if you do, I hope you find success (im 16 right now and going to audition next year)
I started had my first violin lessons with 5 or so, because my dad wanted me to. I'm 16 now and there have been some huge gaps where I had no lessons at all. I'm really getting into it again and I'm so happy about it! I'm not specifically good, but I think everyone should do it for themselves first and foremost. The music is yours, nobody can take from you!!! And that's something beautiful.
@@luc2051 thank you very much for the encouragement!!! I really appreciate it💜💜💜 good luck for your audition and your whole journey in music!!!
@@keksfresse8553 My experience with music is similar to yours. I started when I was 9 because my parents forced me and I lost interest quickly after a year and quit.
You can't tell if I'm the same person from 6 years ago now!!! Music is my life!!
And of course, the important thing about music is that you enjoy it. Your skills can get better with practice!

you're a role model. many people think this is just being lucky and having natural talent, but that doesn't come into play yet. this is just a showcase of how to properly learn the piano in a mature and dedicated way, something almost no one is willing to do.
thank you so much man, i really appreciate it :)
Wow! You clearly have a superb natural ability for playing the piano. However, the impressive progress you made in such a short time would suggest you were lucky enough to have great teachers. I hope you keep studying under such mirable guidance so that you'll be able to fulfill your highest musical aspirations. Meanwhile, you are an inspiration to anyone who loves this wonderful instrument. 😀

There are probably hundreds of thousands of students that may have even had a better teacher than this guy. But made worse progress. @@JakobArnar How do you deal with times where you get stuck on a part that's very technically difficult and you can't make progress for a long time? Or is this just something only I experience 😅 for example I learned almost all of Liebestraum no. 3 and have been stuck on the 2nd theme (loud part) for probably a couple years now
Sensational performance, Jakob! It's so encouraging to see such a high level achieved from what is a relatively short span of time. Keep up the great work. May God bless you and propel you further in your piano journey.
Wow!!! Great job, this was amazing to listen to 😄
Excellent and beautiful playing, Jakob! This is one of my favorite compositions. Congrats! ❤❤❤

This calms my heart because for some reason, ever since I was a kid, I have always dreamt of playing classical music. But I have never touched a grand piano not once in my life. Maybe one day I could still find the time to learn and afford to play on one. You give me so much inspiration, thank you.
Holy wow this is amazing! The progress you've made is breathless! 🤯 Your suit is pretty on you 😳👌
thank you so much :)
That's insane! Thanks for sharing your perfect performance👏
Lovely, you articulate the piece very well.
Nice job, really well played!👏👏👏 I do believe the short time you’ve been playing. I learned this etude about three years in when I started playing in 2009. You must have a lot of passion and ambition for piano as well as a great teacher. And you must practice 5-7 hours everyday. I don’t think there’s another way to make it this far in such a short time. It’s a shame for people who don’t believe they just don’t understand that kind of passion and hard work. But keep it up!
I just see those comments as compliments hahahah
I've been practicing the piano for 7 years. But the first 5 years were with a very inexperienced teacher that never taught me the right way to play it. I've spent the last 3 years fixing all my mistakes and almost starting again since the beginning. Now after playing some Schubert and less demanding Liszt pieces, I want to learn a Chopin etude (Chopin has been my favorite composer since always). I aspire to someday be able to play the etudes like you do, you truly inspire me. I am currently beginning the Ocean Etude (op. 25. no 12) and I find it absolutely amazing and fun. The wave-like jumps really mesmerize me, even though they take some effort. Anyways, keep up the fantastic job! Cheers!
great to hear that man! How are you going about starting again?
@@vlrze Well I just had to start over again with a new teacher, she's taught me how to play with the metronome, how to play with correct fingering, and much more. I started over with extremely easy pieces just to get the hang of playing correctly. Now I am starting to learn more difficult pieces, like the Ocean Etude I mentioned here and the Erlkönig by Schubert/Liszt (I can actually play Erlkönig well slowly, now I"m trying to speed it up gradually).

It’s great to hear other’s committed to learning on their own, so keep at it! Just want to warn you though that liebesleid is incredibly more difficult technically than the nocturne, so don’t be discouraged if it takes longer than expected or you switch to a different piece. Either way, good luck!
