It would have been nice if you talked more about the different methods of cleaning ducts that companies use rather than just listing one method. What about the giant vacuums? What about the whip on the end rather than the brush? Is there a way to clean flex duct that is less likely to damage it? There were so many things I wish were talked about in this video.
Great point! Thank you Cello, yes I will be doing a video on that. Don't want to make these videos too long. I will actually have a duct cleaning company come on with me, since they are the professionals when it comes to cleaning. I really appreciate your input!
Thanks for taking the time to watch our videos and sharing your suggestion! I think your idea is awesome! Stay tuned for upcoming contents, we'll definitely keep your suggestion in mind as we continue to create. 😊
Did you recommend having two separate filters, one at the grille and one at the air handler? That's not a good idea, I don't care how low your static pressure is.
For the average system, already installed, you are 100% correct. However, if the system statice pressure is properly designed, meaning designing for a .8 or .9 static which would allow two filters each with a decent MERV rating to function properly. Both filters don't need to be MERV 13. One could be MERV 8 to catch the bigger stuff, and the other could be MERV 11 or Greater. This issue is most systems are not designed with high static pressure from filters. This can NOT be done, if the system is not properly designed for it. I really appreciate your feed back.
@@procalcsuniversity1484 You are correct. Thanks for the reply. There's just so many problems I have seen from people trying to put filters at the FAU AH and also at the grille, especially if you get a new homeowner/tenant and they don't know there is a seperate filter at the AH, nevermind the static pressure problem.
I saw hygienic flexible aluminum ducting which had double of standard flexible ducting prices. Do you recommend this for homes? Or are they only feasible for hospitals etc?
Hello, @GaddarKerim1 Thank you for your question! When considering whether to use hygienic flexible aluminum ducting in homes, the decision depends on several factors, especially the cost and specific needs. Hygienic flexible aluminum ducting tends to be more expensive than standard flexible ducting. If you have specific needs or concerns regarding air quality, allergies, or other health-related issues in your home, investing in hygienic flexible aluminum ducting may be beneficial.
More than cleaning the coil and blower the insides of the furnace and evap will often be very dirty.
Another Great point!

@@procalcsuniversity1484 That would be great. I would also love to see if there has been any independent research done on duct cleaning as well.
Can you do a video on the positive and negative effects of totally closing a grill off?
