- Is the Nikon D3100 still a capable portraits camera? YES! I would consider the D3100 to still be a VERY capable camera that can give you amazing results with the lenses I used here. The 35mm 1.8G DX, 50mm 1.8G and the 85 1.8G lenses really shows how well the D3100 can perform. I would HIGHLY suggest any of these lenses to increase the image quality on your D3100. These lenses will definitely bring your photography to another level, especially if you're still using your 18-55 lens. I really hoped this video helps you if you still have your D3100. Comment below and I'll try my best to help and answer questions about the Nikon D3100!

Hi, your channel is great because you show people that with some half-decent primes and a fairly inexpensive body, you can get great results. It's that whole "I want it, but do I need it" thing. Also, now that you have a z6 you can show us the best of both worlds, with mirror less and that adaptor.
Totally agree! Thanks for watching :D Z6 video is coming up soon so I'm thankful that you've asked :D
I love this camera. got it for 11 years now. I also had a adaption ring for my Minolta lenses from the 80's
Excellent... Great model.. and great that you are getting out there with the 3100...
Take note kids ! See what you can do with an affordable setup !
Man you’re an artist.
Красивые фото, очаровательная модель и позитивный фотограф!
I have a nikon d3100 for 12 years and I take lots of beautiful pictures
What lens do you use?
Great video and images. Nice to see the amount of quality a D3100 and the F mount primes delivered. It also reaffirms that good photographers can get excellent results; even without the newest gear.
Totally agree!
85mm for portraits in this case. But I’m sure you’d want the full profile. 35,50,85, but 85 popped the most with this level camera.
Awesome photos…awesome model…
Many thanks
With a model like that any photo will look great!!
I still love my Nikon d3100
Just bought mine for pictures of my sons came with the 18-55 vr & 55-200 vr for 150$ not sure if that’s a good deal but i went threw with it very impressed actually just kinda confused about manual setting
It's a good deal, especially with those 2 lenses. It's an amazing camera to learn with and learning manual mode is always an uphill battle but once you get the hang of it, it's going to really improve your image quality.
Great video, i just noticed what i see in almost all longer range zoom shots, it gets noisy with the d3100 ... (You are hitting the physical limit of the sensor)
I Have a d3100 too ... :) And i love it.
Thanks! Glad to know you're still using your D3100.
Fantastic shots
Thank you so much for reviewing this camera and doing a Photoshoot with it. I really appreciate you giving attention to old nikon models ‼💯❤.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
50 n 85 are definitely the portrait lens ... Great shots
Yes! Thank you!
Finally, this is what im waitting for 😍 thnk you so much for making the request 🖤 love nikon 🖤
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
@@BoostLeekdMedia next waitting for the D90 🔥
Thank you for this video! dude..
Because I learned a lot of things from you and behind the scene is useful because I can guess how far I have to stay away from subject(client) each of prime lens (35, 50 & 85). I using nikon d3100.
My pleasure!
Glad to se my d3100 in action ,I'm thinking about some full frame in future - d3 or d3s , but I will keep d3100 for sure 💪
Nice! The D3 and D3s cameras are slowly coming down in price too, which is insane since they're still very capable cameras.
I am very appreciated with this video 📷📸 thank bro for sharing
Thanks!!
Thank you so much for doing this!!
Thanks for watching!
this is great, awesome photo
Could you do a video on the Nikon D3100 and focus how to get sharp portraits and all the focus tricks and tips in that camera. Thank you!
Here's a video I did with the D3100. I hope this helps!

Really nice vid bro ! I have a d3100 too and I love it, thinking about the 35 mm f 1.8 now !
You should! It's a lens I recommend to new photographers. Especially since you can find used ones (in decent condition) for under $150usd.
@@BoostLeekdMedia yep, I'm searching used one ! :)
Love this video. Support from Philippines ❤️
Thank you for watching!
OMG D3100

This is such an awesome and very informative video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤️
Glad it was helpful!
Hey man thanks for the video, however can the d3100 shoot with wireless flash
I love your video. I have 35 and 50. I love it. I been using 50 a lot and using 35 sometimes. It is time for me to do more 35 more often
Thanks for watching! :D yeah, I love the 50. Sometimes, it's nice to switch back to the 35 :)
I just dont think its worth it to send that much on lenses for my d3100 since I hope to soon upgrade to a sony.
For context, i currently shoot on my phone and d3100 and am trying to get used to photography and editing. Once that is done n my parents anre convinced to pay atleast a part (Im 14) i plan on getting am a6000/a6100/a6400
Hey! That means you're ready to upgrade! Also, a good lens goes a long ways BUT the latest mirrorless cameras are amazing, especially if you compare it to the D3100. But, the D3100 with a good lens does go a long ways. I don't know how far you're at with your photography journey but I'd recommend getting some lenses for the D3100 before moving up to the Sony mirrorless cameras, UNLESS, you're doing more videos, then I'd get the mirrorless cameras.
Great clip and lovely photo's mate, well done. Just one quick question, have you or anyone else out there with a D3100 had any luck shooting videos in live view mode and had the autofocus actually properly autofocus consistently like it's designed to do ? I've tried many times and it will focus on something however when you move the camera to another "point of subject" the camera seems to just remains focused, or NOT focused for that matter, resulting in just blurry videos .... a few people have suggested focusing manually however this is not always practical as I want to set the D3100 up on a tripod and film myself and my vehicle driving past it for my channel. Sure I can manually focus on things when shooting ( still ridiculous if that's the only option ) out of the vehicle but how can I do a good tripod set up when it doesn't autofocus like it is supposed to ?...... very frustrating indeed 😡😢
Yeah, unfortunately, the D3100's video autofocus is not the best. Especially if you're in Live View and you're trying to focus on a moving subject. This is where Nikon's downfall is, the video recording and video autofocus capabilities for early entry-level DSLRs. It wasn't until the D3300, D3400 and D3500 where the video performance actually really improved.
@@BoostLeekdMedia thanks for that explanation but DANG, not the answer I was hoping for 😆😢 all good, I’ll see how I go with it anyway. Thanks mate, cheers from Sydney 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍
Please tutorial for settings
Settings really vary depending on your lighting situations and conditions. BUT, I do have a video of my portrait settings here: ruclips.net/video/na4vUJc3PDo/видео.htmlsi=UHvGmlto6FbRN9hC
Happy to see nikon d3100🤩🤩 done subscribe!✅
Thanks!!
do you think its good enough to take 85/1.8g,50/1.8g for my z62?s lens is far too expensive for me.
awesome work
Thank you!
I love your videos, thanks🥰🥰🥰.....

Should i buy d90 or d3100 or 1100d getting at cheaper price ❤️any suggestion
I don't know if you have Nikon or Canon lenses but if you have more Nikon lenses, stick with the Nikon cameras. If you have more Canon lenses, stick with the Canon. At the end of the day, it really depends which camera fits your needs and how you like the user interface of the cameras. Between the D90, D3100 and 1100D, I would choose the D90 because you can use older Nikon AF-D lenses.
I have a d3100 I am happy just that I do not know what lens to buy to have portraits with the background blurred behind the subject.
which lens do you recommend?
I would highly recommend the Nikon 50mm 1.8G.
Brother, I am requesting you to take a photo shoot with Nikon d3300 and 50mm lens
These are some great shots! Did you edit these photos?
Thanks! And yes, these are edited images.
Share the lut please 😭
Hey I just bought the D3100 I’m going to try to use it on my brother. What is your highly recommended mode, shutter and aperture for a black backdrop with two soft boxes ? Using the 50mm
Depends how much light you're working with. You'll need a good amount of space as well with that lens. I'm usually using Manual mode and depending on how much light you're working with, I'd say between 1/100 to 1/500. Keep the ISO between 200-800 (this really depends on the amount of light you're working with. As for aperture, I would stay around F/2-2.8 to get 'sharper' images but also make sure you're shutter speed is high if your subject is moving around.
@@BoostLeekdMedia I was using two soft boxes and white background. I tools a couple pictures and they came out grainy
Can You Do Us A Video About The Nikon D2H ...
Oh yeah, if I can find one. A relative had one and I was just amazed at how big of a camera it was, haha. Now, it's definitely a classic.
85mm
Sar can I do weeding shoot with nikon D40 or 60 please help me I am from India
You could but the Autofocus on the D40 and D60 is very slow. You will be able to get good shots with the D40 and D60 IF you cant rent really good lenses. But, the D40 and D60's autofocus is not that great for weddings. Especially if the subjects are moving fast.
Is it good to use 18-200mm
Yes! I have the 18-200 and it's an excellent lens with the D3100.
50mm sharper than the 35mm. Also give you better DOF/ BOKEH. 85mm get you better BOKEH than those 2 lens. But if you want to take pictures or recording video indoor inside your house or apartment, get the 35mm.
Why the 35mm for indoor?
With 35mm, you will get wider image in the tight space/room..
who best bro
d3200 or d3100
plz ans i want to buy
Between the 2, the D3200 has an improved sensor compared to the D3100 BUT, the D3200 does cost more than the D3100. If cost is not an issue, the D3200 is a better performing camera. But, at the end of the day, it really depends on how good the photographer is.
Another dope video bro! Keep up the dope content!! #YupYup
Appreciate it!!
who best nikon d5000 or d3100 plz ans i want to buy
Please try nikon D5100 😊
Will do! Stay tuned! Thanks for watching :)
Do you use aperture priority mode ?
I do not BUT during the beginning of my photography journey, I was! It's a great way to learn your settings. Have fun in a Aperture priority mode!
Great
Thank you!
Nikon D90 portaits photography plz review sir...
can you do tutorial on how you got those great shots
Mostly composition but I will in the near future! Posing/directing a model is super important and quite interesting too!
My Nikon D3100 does not for beyond 1/200 shutter speed on trigger, Why?
Unfortunately, the Nikon D3100 does not support Auto-FP (the option to have higher shutter speeds with a Off Camera Flash). I just tried to use my D3100 with the Godox AD200 and it would not go past 1/200 shutter speed. There are no settings in the camera to let me go past 1/200 with my Godox Ad200.
Would you recommend this over the D5000?
Personally, I like the D5000 because the D5000 has a flip screen that you can utilize. If the D3100 had the flip screen, I would choose the D3100.
Thanks for answering.
Hi! are these raw photos?
These are edited photos. But, I will add that the D3100's RAW files are VERY nice to work with still!
Where I can find a D3s?
Wauuuu my god
Love from india
How can i set up the F 1.8 ??? on the D3100 i am just able to reduce to F 3.8 but not below
you need a lens that has the F/1.8 aperture.
Ohh thank you, apparently this is not the case :(
Friend help !!!! How to set up the NiKon d3100 to take photos as a couple .... HELP !!!!

very video ❣️
is it Original Picture from nikon?or after edit?
edited. but even for a D3100, the raw files are surprisingly good to edit with.
