Hi Ken may I suggest LED tail lights over the original incandescent globes for safety and eliminate the problem you mentioned when you were 16 yrs .

Hi, I noticed that you have an early 30 from the three holes for the cowl band on each side of the cowl. Can you tell me what holes the top cowl band brackets go in? These brackets should have been slid into the cowl band and screwed down with the screws for the gas tank but I cannot tell which screw holes the go in to. I.E. the screws closest to the hood bracket or the next set of screws. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Ken

Hi Ken. You are correct in that my car is an early ’30. I can also confirm that it was manufactured in early 1930 by the square, not round, u-bolts that are on the front cross-member of the frame holding the leaf spring in place. At the top of the front cowl band, there is only one hole. The band itself dips down a bit in the firewall to allow for the hood rod to be above it. At the bottom of the dip in the band is a hole for the screw, which screws into the firewall. There are two screw holes just beyond the cowl hole for attaching the hood rod holder. It looks like those two screws also screw into the firewall. Unfortunately, I can post an image for you to see. Hope this helps.
