Well, Darryll ... the same to me. I'm also not a big fan of helicopters but it's always very impressive to have one of this huge pieces in front of my camera. Thank you very much for your kind comment and that you being here at my newest uploads. I appreciate that very much. Best regards, Horst
I seen a lot of fantastic RC helicopters both on youtube and in person and this one is the best I have seen. Amazing detail and very steady flying. Nicely done.
I was a HUGE fan of the movie and Blue Thunder is my all time favorite Heli. Your Model, Sir, is OUTSTANDING. Very nice work. I would love to see this fly in person.
If you ever accidentally lose control while flying this, make sure to radio in "Central, this is Blue Thunder, it seems that we have a ship down... Somewhere in the Watts area..." In a British accent, of course. ;)
thank you for your kind comment !!! who knows, maybe the owner already did something like this ? there are many, many additional features which can be applied to a model like this one.
WOW!!! A beautiful model and amazing skills exhibited by the flyer!!! My favourite part is where it banks left and flies away from a hover (*at 2:19)! It looks so realistic (compared to a full size chopper) it's just brilliant! I cannot begin to imagine the time and dedication it took to build it - let alone learn to fly it so skillfully. Many thanks to all.
Ahem, the makers of the movie *did* have something like this. Including RC F-16 fighter jets. In the movie they look like CGI but that the technology wasn't as far developed at that time (early 1980s). Of course they had constructed an actual full size helicopter, I believe based on the French Gazelle helicopter. But for the stunts (like the loop) they used RC helicopters.
Exactly as AudieHolland says. I had a magazine with an article about the build as at the time it was the only way to find out about these things... no internet. Both the actual helo and the model were described as "nose heavy as the Ayatollah" which is a rather dated phrase. Look carefully and you can see the loop was filmed with the RC bird.
Nice to know I'm not the only one who was thinking of that line. Jafo: "Oh, c'mon!!!! This stuff is GREAT!!!!" At least that's the way I remember it. I may have gotten the exact words wrong.
What I particularly enjoy about RC Blue Thunder Models is that the Fan in Tail and Turbine combo means they actually sound like the original does pretty much. and much more so than say an RC Airwolf sounds like she does in her show.
Hallo Christian. Freut mich, dass Dir dieses Video gefällt. Danke für Deinen Kommenatr und den Daumen hoch !!! ... Wir sehen uns in Sarre-Union. Viele Grüße, Horst
As far as I know, on most of gas or Jet powered helicopters you can see this vibrations. There is nothing wrong with the tail rotor. Thanks for your comment. Best regards, RCSA
Thank you so much for your kind comment, I really appreciate. You're absolutely right. This copter ist very detailed and the pilot know how to fly it. Best regards, RCSA
Thanks for watching. Sorry, but I don't have any more data about this heli. I'm just the guy behind the scene. I'll try to get some more informations when I meet the pilot next time.
Thank you for your kind comment. Sorry but I don't know about the type and functionallity of the gun shot. I'm only the guy behind the camera. Best regards, RCSA
Now that was an incredible demonstration on what a R/C helicopter can do. Not to mention that it’s a Blue Thunder helicopter. The way it took off….I wondered if it was nose heavy like in the movie, or if it was just over-all heavy. Thank You for posting this, & of course best wishes to you RCSA.
Beautiful model and smooth flight; compliments pal. From the small electric 500 size AH-1W Super Cobra I use to pilot, I look at yours and I'm impressed. I love it! :)
loool, I did not mentioned it that this is the biggest rc heli. I've uploaded some videos of a "Lama" with 3.4m rotor :) Many people watching rc videos because they love it. No matter if someone know the stories about each single type. It's important to me they enjoy watching it. I've seen your RB Cobra video some month ago.
That is from a movie isnt it? Can you remind me what it's called? I believe its with Tom Cruise, but I havent seen it in yeeeears so I cant remember what its called haha.
"Blue Thunder".. oder auch "Das Fliegende Auge"... grandioses Modell zu einem sehr unterhaltsamen Film von 1983... Kompliment an den Piloten, super schön geflogen... so muss Scale-Flug sein
ha, i forgot i was looking at a model as the pan was happening so i almost jumped when the giant in the red shirt appeared! Blue looks so awesome in this.
I know - some other guy made some contributions to my list (the search for the biggest RC scale heli). So I was lucky to see this cause I love this one. I'll have to check out the Lama - 3.4m Rotor would really make it the largest one! Thanks again for the nice videlos!
It still looks as magical in 2020 as it did in the 1980s. Such a beast of a helicopter..
Well, Darryll ... the same to me. I'm also not a big fan of helicopters but it's always very impressive to have one of this huge pieces in front of my camera.
Thank you very much for your kind comment and that you being here at my newest uploads. I appreciate that very much.

Scratch the line about building it...it's a kit! :-)
Thank you very much for your compliments. Much appreciated.
This is the best RC helicopter I've seen! This thing looks and sounds awesome.
Besten Dank, Oliver. Freut mich, dass Dir das Video gefällt !!!
Oh my god!!!!! Almost the same sound of the original!!! The best helicopter ever, both this scale model and the full size... Tnx for posting!
I bet the makers of the movie wish they had something like this. The realism and detail is insane.
Thank you for your compliments, which I really appreciate.
I'm very pleased to know, that you liked watching the video.
_Regards, RCSA_
RCScaleAirplanes how can I buy one

Actually they did. Certain scenes were filmed using their RC scaled model.

Thank you so much for this great comment which I really appreciate.
Thanks Buck. Much appreciated !!!
Wow, awesome helicopter! The F14A looks fantastic too!
Thanks for watching, buddy !!!
Officer Frank Murphy - "she's nose-heavier than the Ayatollah." Loved this movie. Great model, almost looks real.
I think that line was a wink and a nod to the fact that the modified Gazelle used was very heavy at the nose with all the props bolted on.
Nice to know I'm not the only one who was thinking of that line. Jafo: "Oh, c'mon!!!! This stuff is GREAT!!!!" At least that's the way I remember it. I may have gotten the exact words wrong.
@@charlesballard5251 I think you nailed it
"You're crazy, this stuffs great. Hey, let's see what's on HBO tonight!" --- Officer Richard Lymangood
oh yes, it is built very detailed !
This was very well flown. The sound,.. . it was so much like the show!!! Marvelous piece of work!

As you might know, the XH-A1S is a semi pro camera and uses DV cassette. It's just another way to register digital images ツ
That is awesome, you can even hear that high pitch whine that you could hear on the real thing in the movie too!!
+BudgieFan39 yup, nothing beats a turbine.

I've seen your RB Cobra video some month ago.
Ok, I'll admit that this is pretty darn impressive. BUT I will only take one if it comes with Turbo boost & Whisper mode. :)
Well ... this is a fair request. But then the price will rise for another $5k :)
RCScaleAirplanes Haha. Fair enuff!
That is from a movie isnt it? Can you remind me what it's called? I believe its with Tom Cruise, but I havent seen it in yeeeears so I cant remember what its called haha.
