- SITD Winner CI 2.Pro - Wooly TV Surfboard Review #47
Yes this one won the Stab In The Dark (SITD) for 2023 with Italo Ferreira but how does it go for the average surfer? What waves will it work best in?
Wooly weighs 87kg/192lb and is 6'1"/187cm tall - more like 90kg on most days :)
Wooly is riding
6'2" x 19 1/2" x 2 9/16" - 32.8L

From CI
Meet CI's 2023 entry into Stab in the Dark, the CI 2.Pro. The 2.Pro boasts the same outline and bottom contours that won the 2022 SITD, with Jack Robinson, but utilizes a reduced overall rocker to better match the surfing style and waves we believed would be on offer for 2023.
When launching the CI Pro, both rockers had been tested and proven to work well in a wide array of conditions. Since that time CI have discovered that much of our team likes the CI Pro curve and others prefer the 2.Pro curve, both being widely used by the team globally for over a year. While considering the waves to be surfed in the 2022 SITD we thought the more rockered-out version would complement the power and shape of the waves in Hawaii, as well as Jack Robinson's surfing. When looking at this year's contest, we had a sneaking suspicion the surfer was Italo Ferreira. Taking into consideration his style of surfing and the wide variety of waves that might be encountered in Brazil, we felt that the slightly less rockered 2.Pro would be the right fit.
Maintaining the goal of ultimate performance, the 2.Pro introduces added speed via the reduced rocker, making it easier to surf for a wider range of surfers in a greater variety of waves. Having a 1/4" less overall rocker compared to the CI Pro, the 2.Pro maintains the same subtle single concave to slight double through the fins allowing the board to sit in the water and create that familiar connected feeling through transitions.
CI's experience has been, if someone was a fan of the CI Pro, the 2.Pro enhances their quiver as some team riders will order the 2.Pro for lesser conditions; if someone was intimidated by the CI Pro, the 2.Pro opens up new possibilities to them.ever in small waves.

Woolie as a 6'1" 92kg surfer who goes ok, you are my inspiration.
All my life I've faught off the "oh you're a big bloke, here's a slab of a board". When i was young i used to lie about my height and weight when ordering customs.
Keep ripping big guys!
It’s so nice these days to have boards for bigger lads that still perform!
Been waiting for this one! Thanks! I'll leave this one alone and get a two happy 😁
Having grown up through the 90s these type of boards were all we rode. Now with the move to shorter, lower rocker volume boards, I've got so lazy on flat sections. I've forgotten how much work we used to do through flat sections. My monster 2020 feels like it's got a handbrake when i hit flat sections.
Yeah it’s been good to have the wide variety of board these days. I only ride Monstas when the waves are cooooooking
I had been to surf at trigbeach in Perth in1993
&took short trip’s around Margaret river .I love WA👍
West is best!
@@WoolyTV that located looks like three big rocks by cliff if that calls 3bear when I surfed daddy’s ´mammy’s ´ baby’s
Sweet review! Never rode one of those, but my CI Pro goes great as long as the wall is steep, really sensitive and easy to fit in the pocket! Yeewww
Yeah from what I hear the Pro needs a good quality to wave to get moving!
RIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPIIIIINNNNNGGG YEEEEEEWWW. GREAT REVIEW.. looks like as long as there’s some curve in the wave you can get it going
Yeah I good waves it feels good!
Good review mate I rode the pro and it was such a good wave board wouldn’t generate any speed through flat sections
Yeah that one has a lot of rocket and needs a good quality wave to get moving but in the right wave it feels great.
Thanks wooly i finally followed your advice and went fir the xero gravity carbon. Wawawiwa!11😊
Sweet! Hope you are loving it!
Those outakes are great.
It’s all about having fun
sick review mate!! get them to send you a fever it has a lot more relaxed rocker and great all rounder!
Yeah I heard the Fever is an epic board!
Please do a Pyzel radius prime review, it has less rocker than this board also
Its not on the list as yet but I think I will do that model.
@@WoolyTV👍👍
@@WoolyTV Ohhh, mate, I am also looking forward to see Pyzel Radius Prime or Pyzel Highline under your feet.
Seems like the kind of board you have to surf on rail 100% of the time to make the most of it!
Cheers for the review
Yeah best in good waves and kept on rail.
Love the Quentin Tarantino vibe in this one 🤠
:)
I’m currently in between the js xero gravity, dhd phoenix, or pyzalien 2 any recommendations for medium power beach break
Very hard to go past the Xero Gravity in those conditions but the Phoenix will grovel very well in the smaller stuff.
so sticky for average joe 😂, this needs to be put on rail on very good and punchy waves only!
Yeah I found its best in good waves!
definitely, needs good waves. its not your average daily grinder for small mushy average waves
Funny that while it does need some fast, punchy walls, my experience with the CI Pro was that the board wasn't super hard to surf, actually pretty straightforward (riding 1" taller than me in stock dims). I don't take it out as often as my Happy Everyday tho, which I ride 3" shorter than my height, stock dims too
@@JoaoPCavalcanti thanks for the info..
Inlive in bali and got a 6.1 for better days mentawaii sumbawa even rite it works amazing. Didnt try yet in smaller waves only head high ++
Great board for me 10 years ago . Been playing with Album surfboards lately . You might have start including your age with your weight and height stats soon .lol
Yeah I would like to try an Album.
Hey there, Cowboy❣️
Thats me
Great review hopefully you can review some of the boards by album
I would like to try one!
Which SITD did it win? The one now that hasn’t been released yet?!
Last year
@@WoolyTV got it, thought you’d dropped a spoiler haha
@@timeandtides8701 nah I put in the notes below that it’s 2023
Hepes and syphilus
The CIPro is so much easier to surf than the 2.Pro.
That’s interesting. I haven’t ridden the CI Pro
And your mother sounds interesting
What was it about thr CIPro that you found easier? what sort of waves were you riding it in? Cheers!
@tamtheoneandthebest the CIPRO is looser in the sense that you can initiate a turn more easily and finish the turn with more punctuation. It feels right at home in the pocket. I surf Indo waves.
Not a Wooly type and definitely not for me.
I enjoyed it in good quality waves
