Hold My Bubber Beer: Yr response is *Best* short/incisive YT comment ever. Bob P. & Matt D. of Rockathon Records approves/agrees ;-) 'Bubber Man is prolly best shortest pop song ever w/full verse-chorus-2nd verse-chorus-solo-refrain structure.'
to think: I will see this guy and his talented band of drunken cohorts on Sunset Blvd in about 4 days. This was the first thing I found & thought it was OK, charming. Then the next one. After that, hooked.
They are such an awesome band and Robert Pollard is the only artist where I will not skip his solo stuff or any bonus songs! He has such an amazing output with little to no bad songs
"Gelatin, Ice Cream, Plum" is as tough a psych/power pop song that has ever been put to vinyl. Man, is that Greg Demos playing those groovy bass lines? So fucking cool!
When member of 'Postal Blowfish's, Dan P. (GBV Vinyl Collector Extreme) put out an interweb mailing list shout-out that 'Static Airplane Jive' was only Guided By Voices 7" that was missing from his collection. Promptly sent him my copy. He was a very good Dayton, Ohio person. Have no regrets re: said 'gift'. Also, C'mon Bob Pollard, pls make another 100 copies of Suitcase 3 - Up We Go Now! edition. Don't own that Gem :-( Will pay upwards of $99.00 Over/Out.
Even 30 years later the line "Anyone Can get Nothing Free." Pops up in my head very randomly....
Every song on here should have made them a million bucks.
It may yet...
They’re not that great.
Damn Good Mr. Jam makes me feel warm inside
Just when the voices have guided you everywhere...
quite possibly the best collections of songs on a 7" EVER!
0:00 Big School
2:26 Damn Good Mr. Jam
6:03 Rubber Man
6:39 Hey Aardvark
7:31 Glow Boy Butlers
9:27 Gelatin, Icecream, Plum
doing the good work there DongusK
an ep that you can treat like a replayable lo-fi prog rock epic
all the EP's are great
Big School has to be one of their best songs right?
one of MANY checkitout ;)
Me whenever I listen to any gbv song:
I have a test pressing of this that Mitch Mitchell gave me. :)
Bubber Man is probablly the shortest pop song ever that has full verse-chorus-2nd verse-chorus-solo-refrain-structure.

David James Buckner how bout the show? it was good? i would really like to see them
I caught them back in November and it was fan-god damn-tastic. That was my third GBV show and they still remain my favorite live band.

I love how Pollard is singing like Joey Ramone on the second song. He is a cool and crazy dude
Hey Aardvark could well have been an outtake from the Beatles' White Album, so cool & 60s sounding
Great EP......Thanks for the upload.
Just realized..... The sound at end of 'Hey Aardvark " is indeed an off-balance washer or drier rattling around.
aNYTHING fOR fREE ??
