Her name is Kate Wolf - a Californian folksinger who died young, before getting her proper recognition. She wrote a bunch of great songs that you might want to check out to do covers of, like “Give Yourself To Love” and “Redtail Hawk.

Maybe I could save you some time and lead you to a few more of her best songs: Unfinished Life, Carolina Pines, Eyes of a Painter, Emma Rose, These Times We’re Living In, and Ballad of Weaverville. Those are some standouts for me, but there are are slough of others goodies if you poke around her catalogue !
