@@goldenmotorNA Great video, but that 'music'. Jeez it was awful. I dont need or want it. You have a good voice, good presentation, drop the music. Just my opinion.
I bought one of these couldn't wait for it to arrive, it's a weeks pay for me so I was excited right. It arrived, and soon after I was riding, riding without the chain falling off. I rode 9km when the chain dislodged, I have to say I take it easy on my BBSHD, when I whent to put the chain back on I saw that there was a chunk out of the lekkie chain ring.... Devostated. Long story short, I was inquiring on a replacement of the $300 Bling Ring, unfortunately to no prevail. 9km of awesomeness is all I experienced. I think mine may have been a one-off dud, is why I think all the more reason to have replaced mine. I couldn't be selling these things Lekkie.
Very informative. People are ever so rude in passing blunt comments. Mute it if it gets on your nerves. Simples. Hello this crown that ai mounted. How much offset to,!? Another question the red flywheel that you put serves for decoration ..... Or does it allow you to descend again towards frame sheaths,!?? I fight with my 142×12 tank and there is no way. I have BBSHD 1000wat Bafang 2021. I spoke to the likkie website. They say I only recover 4mm with this crown that you show. It's true
So for the same offset would a larger sprocket eliminate the need for the engine cover change ? Also to determine the correct offset would using a straight edge across chainring and measure to centre sprocket on cluster be the way to go, also ( sorry) your thoughts on using a front derailleur to stop the chain from coming off just on the lowest gear the others are ok, thanks
What is the weight difference between the Lekkie cover and the original cover? I am aware that the chainring from Lekkie is much lighter but what about the cover? Cheers.
My problem was that my riding area is very hilly. The Bafang BBSO2 stock 44t chainring with the 16/46 freewheel was overheating due to ghost pedaling up a long hill. So dropped down twice 38t then a Lekkie 28t. This did the trick but I still have chain line issues with granny gears. but gear ratio is suited for my riding needs. Motor running much cooler.
If I understand correctly, if you want to return the chain line back to the original chain line the bike had before the motor was installed, then you need to correct the 9mm offset that the BBSHD motor produces. Is that correct? And that means that the 46T is the ring that will return it back to "factory alignment". Is this 9mm the same with the BBS02 which I have? I am trying to make sure I order the correct Lekkie and not have to return it from your web site. thanks for the great videos.
i got my 42 tooth today. I ordered the motor, battery any everything a day before ordering the 42 tooth blind ring HD from you and your part was the first part to show up so thanks!! i'll be buying anything else i need from you. The place in cali only produced a tacking label but my parts still haven't shipped yet grr. Hey i see the 42 tooth i recieved has a 22mm offset, do they make anything with a bigger offset in case i need it? I think ill be good the chainring might be off a half inch from stock at worst.
I got same kit and bought 42 tooth bling ring from lekkie but didn't have to put spacer or that add on part. I noticed if you get the really small bling ring I think its 32 tooth it has a add on part. Thanks for video.
Thanks! Exactly the issue I’m having with my build at the moment. But how to know which chainring and offset is needed? All I see is a number of teeth and no info on the offset. If anyone can help, please help. Thanks
Great video, and looks much better, but it still looks like the chain will pop off on the largest gear on the rear wheel. Did that happen after the new offset?
@@goldenmotorNA - Thank you! I just bought an "Acclomile" 750 Watt Bafang bike. Straight out of the box it was popping the chain and I notice the same exact problem you had. Your video tempted me to keep the bike, but I will likely just pay the $250 to send the bike back.
I use a different brand here in France (Precialps) who has 40T and 42T versions. It really helps for a perfect chainline with an offset that put the chainring closer to the frame. I can use all my 10 gears smoothly, on my bike the 42T can't fit as it touches the arm, 40T fits, this version just needs either new motor cover or slightly file the original plastic cover at the output boss.
Yeah I started out with the 40T on both of my Bafangs...but tried the 52T on my BBS02 road bike n what a difference! Way more acceleration, Strava verified. Then I went 28T on my BBSHD fat tire bike. Whoa! It pulled hills so much easier it was phenomenal. So to me, 40T is middle of the road, King of none.
not always if you are using spacers between the motor cover and the chainring then you would not need to file it off. but if not spacers then you would need to file off a bit. or you can change the cover too
Just change your cassette. It's much cheaper and easier to change your cassettee, & you can easily get a much lower gear ratio. Buy a cassete and a derailer extender. My cassette came with an extender. I went 11-34 to 11-42 but I could have went higher. I have a 42t up front and had a 34 in back. 42÷34=1.24. 42÷42=1. Lower = easier to pedal. If I changed my front to 40t. 40÷34=1.18. See. You don't gain much by changing the front from 42 to 40
All that can be customized through settings with an app you can install on your mobile and connect the controller to. Has nothing to do with motor power
I really why you changed the cover of the motor. Look like change only the color. How much deetp is 28T chainring? How you will connect it to the motor?
Hi Chan , two types of offset 1) negative offset brings the chain ring closer to the frame of the bike. 2 ) positive offset brings the chain ring away from the bike frame. BBSHD stock chain rings might be ok if not you will need to find out if you need a positive or negative chain ring to give you a straight chain line.
Hi I put my BafaBBSO2 kit on my bike and it makes a clanking sound when I use the throttle and when I pedal it but when I just run it without me riding it it doesn't make any noise could you help me out with this thank you

Depends on the application. If your want more speed go with 52t if you are looking. For more hill climbing go with 28. If you are looking for a balance 42t
Best way is to use single speed wheel and rings on the back. Your solution just move chain to one direction. Every bike is different, what if someone need to move chain in opposite direction? Plus using cassette with more than 250W is worthless. In my bike cassette is broken after two months, around 2000km. Its just too much power for small teeth in cassette style wheels.
Why would anyone pay $200 for a lekki ring with 20mm offset when you can pay $80 for a luna eclipse ring with 24.8mm offset that can be modified with spacer?

Does this Lekkie work with a 12 speed sram?
For 12 speed , you will need the 42T HD PRO. Higher offset on the PRO series
Thing I like about this video is that I'm currently doing all the same things to my 2017 Norco Storm 9.1.
I'm baffled why Bafang doesnt provide a chain ring like this from the beginning. This adds a good $100 to the mix.
You answered your own question Mr. Johns.

Is 1 mm enough of a gap between the chainring and chainstay? I’ve been told my setup with a 2mm gap is too close?

Loving the high quality video. Thank you! Installing my bling ring now.

Where can I purchase a bafang ultra mid drive boost chain ring adapter bcd104 ?

How did you take out the bearing after you remove the gear if you don't have extra bearing? Did you use a mallet also? I want to buy one.

Just change your cassette. It's much cheaper and easier to change your cassettee, & you can easily get a much lower gear ratio. Buy a cassete and a derailer extender. try my luck here.

My chain (kmc x12) does not wrap properly around the chainring. There is a shift between teeth of the chainring and my chain.
Can anyone enlighten me ?
Looks like the stock 46 tooth would have moved the chain line in board. And maybe would have given a more desirable alignment. No ?
Oh gosh, I just got my BBSHD test fit on to my bike and I have a 30T in the mail. I am gonna have a rough chainline oop.
How do you figure out how much of an offset you need? I have a Cannondale Rush that's probably 12-13 years old. Thanks
Put the chain in the middle of the cassette, it should run straight. However much it is off is your offset. On belt drives its called the fleet angle.
