    This video is very well done, as are all of your installation vids. In this video you mention two options for installation, but you only show the rear installation. I would love to see how it is installed near the front shift mechanism. I just ordered a BBS02 kit from you. I'm looking forward to installing it!

    Not only was this a helpful video it was totally chill, soothing and relaxing. FYI in my instance I didnt even have a cable covering so I was able to just install it without cutting anything. Zip tied it up nicely and hopefully it works! Thanks!

      Do you have to undo it at the top .or just pull the outer casing out. Also do you have to undo the chain

    I see lot of videos of this install and I've seen where the sensor wire is installed in both directions. My question is does it matter which way the sensor is placed or does it have to be placed a certain way.

    • @Ezio470

      I think it doesnt matter. as it's goal is to cut power when a change is detected

    I’m having a hard hard time getting the cable to push through. Would a small amount of some sort of lubricant help? Would it alter the performance of the sensor if I put a small dab of grease on the cable to get it to slide through? Also, there are two screws on the sensor … is it possible to temporarily open up the sensor, feed the cable through and then close the sensor housing?

    • @Ezio470
      @Ezio470 3 года назад +2

      This should have been the default way to do it though: open housing of sensor and place on top of wire then close it back. we
      would only have to strip a small part of the wire ...but i'll admit we risk cutting the wire inside doing that

    Break and shift sensors are optional? I have mechanical brakes and shift sensor is extra install?

    • @oddiosanto
      @oddiosanto 3 года назад +1

      Yes they are optional, however the motor won't stop when braking or shifting gears. You'll have to stop pedaling to stop the motor. I suggest reprogramming the motor to istantly cut power when you stop pedaling.

    Hi, Do we need to have a Y-splitter as well or only the grear Shifter? And Does it work with 1000W (BBSHD) motor?
    Thanks

    • @MicroRCFiend
      @MicroRCFiend 4 года назад +4

      You only need the splitter if you version of BBSHD doesn't have a dedicated gear sensor cable.
      All newer ones of BBSHD and BBS02 have the dedicated cable coming out of the motor/controller.

      @@ViljamiDrumming I'm not sure. I can't see clearly enough online pictures and also can't find the manual. Do have the motor or manual?
      I'd expect it to have this function since it has to be used in various bikes with various setups. I'm also under the impression it's only older non torque sensing setups that didn't have the function.
      I still don't actually know if it has the same higo connector for it though.

    Hi! Is it possible to adjust the engine shutdown time from the controller? I am thinking of installing a 750W bafang with the LINKGLIDE system from DEORE, but apparently changing gears is slightly longer. It probably doesn't matter, but I have a slight concern.

    "Use appropriate cable cutting tool". Folks, you can get a serviceable cable cutter online for the same price as a decent diagonal cutter. Use a cable cutter for cables and housing, please.

    • @hieungo7766
      @hieungo7766 3 года назад

      The Gear Sensor momentarily cuts motor power when shifting. It mounts inline with the shifter cable and detects the cable movement. It sends a signal to the controller to cut motor power while shifting gears.

      bei dem Gangschalten sollte die Kraftübertragung unterbrochen werden. Es könnte sonst die Kette, die Kettenräder oder der Kettenwerfer ruiniert werden. Fallst Du beim Schalten zum pedalen aufhörst stoppt der Motor auch und Du brauchst das Ding nicht. Aber niemals vergessen! VLG aus Kalifornien

    • @HighVoltageKits

      Maggie and David Cogswell It is no different. It's just a little wheel that detects the movement of the cable and triggers a sensor. That cuts the power. I don't bother with them. They are pretty crap really. You can use a brake cutoff to do the same job much better.

      Going to be installing one of these on a Terra Trike Rover I-8. Was wondering the same thing. Do we have to split the sheath on the shifter cable closer to the shifter to install this thing? And with the I-8 you stop pedaling to shift gears. Wonder if I will even need it? Can't see where I would unless I was running non pedal assist and only using the battery.

    This bike was really easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
