I don't think you need to invest into a new microphone right away, the audio level if your microphone input is a little quiet, and it picks up some Static background. the static isn't too bothersome. I'd also imagine not being able to / not wanting to speak too loudly, you can adjust your mic volume if you're using OBS to record, by increasing right clicking your audio sources, and changing the volume above 100% *(If you're already at 100%)*. If you don't want to have to mute and that all the time, you can also look at possible microphone settings lower the sensitivity. As in, have it only pick up slightly louder noise to be active. *(I am unsure if you're headset or microphone may have this feature)* it will prevent the background white noise 'fuzz' when you're mic is not muted. Something simple like noise suppression might work as well through OBS. If you do, I suggest using both Noise Suppression and a low Noise Gate, so that your mic it's self isn't being registered by OBS, and therefore not leaving a 'fuzz' sound in the background while helping potentially remove other unwanted audio. *(I may have worded some of this wrong, as I am writing this at 2am my time, and it may not be clearly conveyed. I will check back to questions if you need to ask about anything :)
Hi, thank you for the advice. Greatly appreciated, I will definitely have a look at my OBS settings and such. Unfortunately the head set is just a cheap RGB gaming one from a bundle pack few years back, I did find a new mic though so hopefully that will be ok when it arrives :)
Just had a look at all you said in OBS, did a little recording to test, Amazing. Completely cuts out all background noise, couldn't even hear the little one in the background, no reason to mute as you said because it doesn't pick up any sound until I talk/make a noise. also turned up mic by 25% over Monitor SFX Will adjust accordingly in the future depending what's going on, but this has really helped, So a big thank you, hopefully it shows in future recordings :)
