We have i20 Diesel in our family. Made a 700 km x 2 trip in February. Nonstop 400 km averaging 130+ before a 10 minute break. The car didn't break a sweat. Comfortable and very fast and we got on average 18+ km per litre.
My father has also bought i20 And same complaints/things we also noticed in our car -Short 1st and 2nd car -Smooth sailing but difficult to tell whether revd high/low -difficulty in shifting 1st to 2nd gear in city traffic -low mileage in city(11-12) -less space in front seats Rest other pros Reliability Smooth sailing Easy to drive Good 1st car 👍👍
It's a life saver for me 🔥.had a collision with a running tyres(truck)at the speed of 50/60 .no one injured.only two people have minor injury.its a life saver man🤩 The build quality and safety of the car is really satisfactory. Every product has pros n cons.Mileage doesn't matter life matters bro.proud to be a i20 owner.
I am using i20 since 2018 .. great car in hatchback segment. Don’t worry about mileage.. I am getting 20 kmpl on highway with full loaded. I thing it’s all about your driving skills.. good suspension ,good space ,good stability, soft clutch and gear box, good rear space.. moreover I can say i20 is a value of money car in this segment
We have i20 elite 2015(18700kms driven only) pretty happy with the car. There are some minor issues but that's totally fine with us. Depends on everyone's use and needs.
I own i20 elite 2018, top speed 183 so far, avg city 12-15, highway 18-23. No issue with the engine breaking is super, cz it has abs so and build quality is damm good. I had an accident with baleno and alto both around 80 -90km/hr, my front bumper got only scratches not minor. But baleno turnerd into wagnonr and alto became phool gobbi from the back. No complaints, i will never sell it. Honest review. Steering is buttery smooth. I have kept it stock no alloys and no tire. And at the red light, i love giving fly by to chapri, to show them who owns the road for 500 mtr. Not a racer but i love every inch of this car.
My 1st car is i10 Magna of 2009. I have tested it vigorously. I am extremely satisfied. In 2020 I have changed my car. Bought a new Aura SX. It's so far going good.
i20 was introduced as a family car not a sports fun to drive car. You will get comfort, Driving pleasure, space and great handling in i20, all required for a long drive with family. You will never get tired sitting inside it or driving it. I get 14-15kmpl mileage in locality and 19-20kmpl on highways. Also mileage depends on your driving habits. But one thing i agree is that Hyundai is Jack of all, Master of none.
I am sure when you decided to buy a Hyundai Car milage was not your priority. Probably your priority was premium feel , luxury, comfort , safety. So why you cry over milage now.
My i20 (2018 Model) - Petrol gives average of 14 in city and 19-20 on higways (Delhi/NCR), It's true that in first second and third gear car takes time to pick up the speed.

I own an Elite I20 Asta MH12 passing, agree with the owner's review. Mine has clocked 20k kms and have same feedback. However, it gives 12-13 in city and 20 kmpl(MID). Approximately it gives 19 kmpl on highways with (85-95 kmph) brim to brim calculated. Mostly travelled on Pune - Indore - Bhopal. Power to weight ratio is the only disadvantage with 1.2 petrol since the weight is on higher side. Upcoming Turbo Petrol could be a deal breaker for I20. Impressions : Only for patient drivers seeking comfort & luxury.😁😁
I bought 2nd owned I20 Elite sports 2015 diesal Plus point - Great comfort - Great looks - 20 kmph highway/18 in City Negative point - low Confidence on speed even 80-90 compair to Swift - low ground clearance - lights are major problem - maintenance is high compared to other hatchbacks
I am also a proud owner of i20 2019. Whatever, he reviewed was totally right except ground clearance. The ground clearance is an issue many times, it doesn’t go smooth when the speed breaker is steep. I always cross speed breakers by taking slight turn, putting one front tyre at time. Overall, he reviewed genuinely.
Very nice video. Completely agree with you guys . I have i20 2015 model simply love that car good interior quality than Baleno, spacious and very comfortable. Average is around 15.5 on highway and 13-14 in city (pune). Not comparable to perfomance oriented cars of today like TSI or any other turbo petrols. This car has a different purpose all together (comfort, customer satisfaction, interiors, smooth city ride).

Absolutely to the point! I myself drove my i20 from 2014 till now , never had any issue apart from air conditioning and gearbox. Changed ac and gear box till now. It's a absolute pleasure if you want a decent drive! Never got average above 14 - 15 on highway.
I also have 2017 i20 sports petrol Same issue even mores = 10-12 city mileage Hardly 15 highway = dead power / everytime need to press full escalator for pickup = low ground clearence = seats are not comfortables / neck pain waist pain are common issues = if you drive 150-200 km a day You will be tired for sure ! & 1 free tip for you guys = go for diesel anyday !!! ❤ You will never regret for life !!! Now come to the comparison part with Baleno. Baleno is definitely better than i20 in terms of mileage only. But if we talk about safety, roughness, toughness,buildquality,style,outer, interior etc..i20 is much better than Baleno. i20 is very heavy car 🚗 than Baleno ,u will feel U are driving something premium..I m satisfied with i20. Bhaisahab elite i20 li maine 2019 mei. Usme to aise koi issues ni huye mujhe. Asta model hai apni. 14-16 km/l aur 18 -20 km/l highway par. Mai kabhi 2 unit ke upar ac chalata hi nahi chalata cooling bahut perfect hai. Steering responsive lagi kaafi mujhe, daily 30km commute hai aur sunday ko 250 km highway ride rahi hai. MID pe gear shift indicator ke hisaab se gear shift karo mileage milegi. 3rd gear pe 80 km/hr khichoge to mileage kaha se aegi bhaiya 😒😒😒
i have 2018 i20 sportz diesal. it gives me city mileage 13 to 16 and on highway if speed 85 to 100 then 24kmph. and if speed 75 to 85 then 25 to 26kmph
I have a i20 elite asta petrol and must admit the car is a perfect premium hatchback. Yes the car lacks push when picking up on 1st gear but then on 3rd and 4th gear the car picks up really well. After 2nd service, the mileage has improved a bit. Was getting 8 to 9 kmpl mileage initially untill 2nd service in city. After 2nd service have been getting 13 kmpl in city with moderate to low traffic. Need to see mileage once lockdown is over the traffic resumes. On Chennai - Bangalore Highway, i have received a mileage of 20 kmpl with a average speed of 90-100 kmph.

I have i20 2016 asto(o) petrol. My yearly run is approx 5-6000. I got 13kmpl in city and approx 15-17 kmpl on highway depending on driving like if u drive on high-speed it will drop on highway as low as 14kmpl..now talk about service cost i have service record with me first service cost is nil.. second service I paid 1291...third service I paid 1200 after free services paid service cost me 3600 in which they did break overhaul +service+airfilter.. one main thing I made links in service center so they said to me not to go for wheel alignment until unless it is necessary..now the main thing is I didn't find service expensive because I had swift in past and they make same bill as of Hyundai only thing is we need to be extra cautious will service that what they are going to do with car..if we don't show interest they can easily hike the bill by saying these things need to be done..hope my view help somebody..

First of all I would like to thank Team Man&Motors for bringing us the practical driving experiences about the cars and Mr. Karan for his views on this car. The reviews are good, covers many of the issues that mostly confuses first time car buyers. but at one point of time where you said about the Gear shifting i.e. from 2nd gear to 3rd gear at speed od 25km/hr or 35 km/hr, I would like to suggest you some tips as a friend that will help you for better drivability not only with this car but in future when you own any other car. Wish it will help you a lot. Now coming to the point you should change the gear when you reach at a particular speed as folows, change the gear to 2nd from 1st when you reach speed of 20km/hr, to 3rd at 40km/hr, to 4th at 60km/hr and to 5th at 80km/hr. Similarly when down shifing you should follow the same. below the speed you maintain the particular gear. and one more thing may be you are following that while shifting you should shift gradually like 1 to 2 then 3, 4, 5 and same in reverse order. never skip the gear and jump to the upper gears directly like from 2 to 4 or 3 to 5. Accelerating at wrong gears or changing gear at wrong speed will have impact on the performance of the car and milage. Like you shoul not push you car to speed of 80 at 3rd gear, the moment you reach 60 change to 4th gear.. I understand the case of i20. It feels lazy sometimes due its weight.. Generally we feel smooth at upper gears and tend to upshift early but it forces the engine to work hard to match our requirement. Above tips will help you for any car you own for smooth driving experience and better engine life and performance. I, congratulate you if you have already owned a new car. Stay safe and drive safe...

I had previously owned Hyundai i20 Magna (optional) variant having Engine Capacity of 1200 CC. Though it was a good ride for city, it was really a dead cow on hills, on several occassions i have taken that car to hills (mostly in Himachal Pradesh) and it every time disappointed me. I had to fully press the acceleration pedal to make it move.
This perticular episode I like the way you both given great respect and honored dignity of Mr Karans wife and made her so comfortable to speak to people without any hesitation.. I have both cars polo high-line plus n i20 asta o but i like i20 because it is premium features loaded vehicle but cruise control ,rain sensing wiper n auto dimming mirror is missing But polo is safety car but lot of space problem n maintenance is too high. In polo i changed my hand rest it is broken costing of 6500 rs but i20 servicing cost is 3998 rs . polo is ok for city drive n cabin is very noisy But i20 you get comfortable travel both city n long drive.

@7:45 that valve issue bro, same thing happened in my Elite i20 Magna. It cost me ₹6600 in Delhi. AC of Elite i20 performs pathetic I'm extreme summers. I have driven 40,000 KMS my Elite i20 and the major cons are > Low Powered car although it performs good on highway, AC issue in extreme summers.

Gari ki ground clearance bohut low hone ke bawajud bhi bohut uchalti he, aur surprisingly body roll bhi bohut jyada hain. Suspension ekdum bekar hain iske. Chote chote gaddhe bhi bohut jor se feel hote hain. Pick up bohut slow hain. Gears bar bar badalne parte hain. Breaks bhi itne acche nehi hain. Santro ya grand i10 jaisi nehi. 4 log bethane par gari ki body aur niche ho jati hain. Mileage bhi bohut kum hain. 11 - 13 se jyada nehi deti. Music system ekdum ghatiya quality ke hain. Lekin kuch acchi cheezein bhi hain. Iski build quality bohut solid hain. Apko andar baith ke feel hoga, doors bohut heavy hain. Overall body kaafi heavy hain (unladen). Outer sheet bohut acche quality ke hain. AC strong hain. Boot space bohut jyada hain. Lekin isko chalane main ekdum maza nehi aata.. Long journeys main mentali bohut thak jata hun.

I drove on the Mountain area Ladakh, Himachal & Highway side around 100 hkph feel stable.
I am also a proud owner of i20 2019. Whatever, he reviewed was totally right except ground clearance. The ground clearance is an issue many times, it doesn’t go smooth when the speed breaker is steep. I always cross speed breakers by taking slight turn, putting one front tyre at time. Overall, he reviewed genuinely.
Should I buy i20 magna of nov2019 only 8k km run in 6.5 lakh??

Very nice video. Completely agree with you guys . I have i20 2015 model simply love that car good interior quality than Baleno, spacious and very comfortable. Average is around 15.5 on highway and 13-14 in city (pune). Not comparable to perfomance oriented cars of today like TSI or any other turbo petrols. This car has a different purpose all together (comfort, customer satisfaction, interiors, smooth city ride).

I have i20 asta and Yes Karan is absolutely right mileage on Highway is 15km/litre .and in city 12 km/litre..People who are claiming more than that are fake.
Now come to the comparison part with Baleno.
Baleno is definitely better than i20 in terms of mileage only.
But if we talk about safety, roughness, toughness,buildquality,style,outer, interior etc..i20 is much better than Baleno.
i20 is very heavy car 🚗 than Baleno ,u will feel U are driving something premium..I m satisfied with i20.

I have a diesel i20 elite 2015 model and it's perfectly fine. The turbo boost gives you immense power and I don't feel any problem in overtaking.

Bhaisahab elite i20 li maine 2019 mei. Usme to aise koi issues ni huye mujhe. Asta model hai apni. 14-16 km/l aur 18 -20 km/l highway par. Mai kabhi 2 unit ke upar ac chalata hi nahi chalata cooling bahut perfect hai. Steering responsive lagi kaafi mujhe, daily 30km commute hai aur sunday ko 250 km highway ride rahi hai.
MID pe gear shift indicator ke hisaab se gear shift karo mileage milegi. 3rd gear pe 80 km/hr khichoge to mileage kaha se aegi bhaiya 😒😒😒

i have 2018 i20 sportz diesal. it gives me city mileage 13 to 16 and on highway
if speed 85 to 100 then 24kmph. and if speed 75 to 85 then 25 to 26kmph
It was an extremely educated and well given review. However I used to have a elite i20 diesel and I used to experience alot of vertical dive.

I have a i20 elite asta petrol and must admit the car is a perfect premium hatchback. Yes the car lacks push when picking up on 1st gear but then on 3rd and 4th gear the car picks up really well. After 2nd service, the mileage has improved a bit. Was getting 8 to 9 kmpl mileage initially untill 2nd service in city. After 2nd service have been getting 13 kmpl in city with moderate to low traffic. Need to see mileage once lockdown is over the traffic resumes. On Chennai - Bangalore Highway, i have received a mileage of 20 kmpl with a average speed of 90-100 kmph.

I'm using diesel i20 top end model since 4 years. Diesel i20 having 220 NM Torque. It's a really ROCKS on the hiways. I'm touching almost 167 kms/hr on hiways. I can't comment on petrol i20.

I have i20 2016 asto(o) petrol. My yearly run is approx 5-6000. I got 13kmpl in city and approx 15-17 kmpl on highway depending on driving like if u drive on high-speed it will drop on highway as low as 14kmpl..now talk about service cost i have service record with me first service cost is nil.. second service I paid 1291...third service I paid 1200 after free services paid service cost me 3600 in which they did break overhaul +service+airfilter.. one main thing I made links in service center so they said to me not to go for wheel alignment until unless it is necessary..now the main thing is I didn't find service expensive because I had swift in past and they make same bill as of Hyundai only thing is we need to be extra cautious will service that what they are going to do with car..if we don't show interest they can easily hike the bill by saying these things need to be done..hope my view help somebody..
My i 20 shows 17 KMPL in highway & 13 in city. It highly depends in our driving nature.

First of all I would like to thank Team Man&Motors for bringing us the practical driving experiences about the cars and Mr. Karan for his views on this car. The reviews are good, covers many of the issues that mostly confuses first time car buyers. but at one point of time where you said about the Gear shifting i.e. from 2nd gear to 3rd gear at speed od 25km/hr or 35 km/hr, I would like to suggest you some tips as a friend that will help you for better drivability not only with this car but in future when you own any other car. Wish it will help you a lot.
Now coming to the point you should change the gear when you reach at a particular speed as folows, change the gear to 2nd from 1st when you reach speed of 20km/hr, to 3rd at 40km/hr, to 4th at 60km/hr and to 5th at 80km/hr. Similarly when down shifing you should follow the same. below the speed you maintain the particular gear. and one more thing may be you are following that while shifting you should shift gradually like 1 to 2 then 3, 4, 5 and same in reverse order. never skip the gear and jump to the upper gears directly like from 2 to 4 or 3 to 5.
Accelerating at wrong gears or changing gear at wrong speed will have impact on the performance of the car and milage. Like you shoul not push you car to speed of 80 at 3rd gear, the moment you reach 60 change to 4th gear.. I understand the case of i20. It feels lazy sometimes due its weight.. Generally we feel smooth at upper gears and tend to upshift early but it forces the engine to work hard to match our requirement.
Above tips will help you for any car you own for smooth driving experience and better engine life and performance.
I, congratulate you if you have already owned a new car.

I had previously owned Hyundai i20 Magna (optional) variant having Engine Capacity of 1200 CC. Though it was a good ride for city, it was really a dead cow on hills, on several occassions i have taken that car to hills (mostly in Himachal Pradesh) and it every time disappointed me. I had to fully press the acceleration pedal to make it move.

Brother I do have i20 Asta 2019 Model, it’s average on highway is around 17-19 depending on how you drive. Attached is the screen capture where it delivered 19.4 for 112 kilometres on a speed from 75-80.

I have both cars polo high-line plus n i20 asta o but i like i20 because it is premium features loaded vehicle but cruise control ,rain sensing wiper n auto dimming mirror is missing But polo is safety car but lot of space problem n maintenance is too high. In polo i changed my hand rest it is broken costing of 6500 rs but i20 servicing cost is 3998 rs . polo is ok for city drive n cabin is very noisy But i20 you get comfortable travel both city n long drive.

I have driven 40,000 KMS my Elite i20 and the major cons are > Low Powered car although it performs good on highway, AC issue in extreme summers.
@Ashish Ranga is there issue in every Hyundai or specific i20 for AC because one of my known also face the same in his i20.

Gari ki ground clearance bohut low hone ke bawajud bhi bohut uchalti he, aur surprisingly body roll bhi bohut jyada hain. Suspension ekdum bekar hain iske. Chote chote gaddhe bhi bohut jor se feel hote hain. Pick up bohut slow hain. Gears bar bar badalne parte hain. Breaks bhi itne acche nehi hain. Santro ya grand i10 jaisi nehi. 4 log bethane par gari ki body aur niche ho jati hain. Mileage bhi bohut kum hain. 11 - 13 se jyada nehi deti. Music system ekdum ghatiya quality ke hain. Lekin kuch acchi cheezein bhi hain. Iski build quality bohut solid hain. Apko andar baith ke feel hoga, doors bohut heavy hain. Overall body kaafi heavy hain (unladen). Outer sheet bohut acche quality ke hain. AC strong hain. Boot space bohut jyada hain. Lekin isko chalane main ekdum maza nehi aata.. Long journeys main mentali bohut thak jata hun.
