Going to LA ( Huntington Beach area ) from Toronto this Saturday for a week, and was really hoping that you would mention where you parked ( easy, difficult...) at the various locations, how you found the traffic(?)( being from Toronto yourself, I would have liked to have heard your perspective ), and some idea of the prices ( to park, to eat...entrance costs? ). Sorry, but I was a little disappointed that you didn't chose to include these things...
I would love to spend 5 days in LA! What a beautiful city and so many great things to do! I have never been to Disney and I hope to one day be able to go! When planning my next trip I will need to refer to this video so I need to take some notes! Amazing video as always my friend! 😊
Avoid driving in LA traffic is the order of the day for us 😂. LA has so much to offer besides the parks. Thanks for taking us on this grand adventure to see the sites and sounds!
Thank you for sharing your 5-day Los Angeles itinerary! As someone who has never been to LA before, your video was incredibly helpful in providing a well-rounded overview of the city. I appreciated your tips on how to beat the crowds and save money while still seeing some of the most popular attractions. Your suggestions for food and drinks were also spot-on - I can't wait to try some of the places you recommended. Overall, your video was engaging and informative, and I feel much more confident about planning my trip to LA now. Thank you again!
So much to do and see in LA! Love the pier too! Never been to the observatory but it looked really cool! Alll that food made Me hungry! And I love a good drive on the coast! Thanks for sharing!
I visited LA a long time ago, but did most of the thing you mentioned. We wen tot he beach, Disneyland and of course the stars on the boardwalk on the Hollywood boulevard! My kids would love to go there now, so maybe I'll be back! 😉
LA look so beautiful and happening, there is so much to explore and enjoy. Thanks for sharing your itinerary it will lots of travelers to plan their trip
I'm so jealous of your visit to Universal Studios Hollywood - it's been on my bucket list for years! The studio tour sounds amazing, and I can imagine that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was an incredible experience. The Griffith Observatory is also a must-visit, and I love that you can see the Hollywood sign from there too. Venice Beach looks like a fun and vibrant place to spend an afternoon - I can't wait to check it out for myself. Thanks for sharing your itinerary, it's given me so many ideas for my next trip to LA!
Basically the same things I did on my trips to Southern California in 2006 and 2019. I also avoided downtown. I drove a little bit around the San Fernando Valley, but it's not as nice as it was 50 years ago. I didn't make it to Universal or Manhattan Beach. I did get a little closer to the Hollywood Sign than you did, but not as close as many do; it's not easy to get to. I did enjoy driving up and down Sunset Blvd.
LA Native here! Great video! I was curious of what tourist does when they visit LA. This is a really good list, thank you for visiting hope you had fun !
You should have stopped at paradise cove in Malibu when you were driving up pch, it is a must see. Also, Disneyland is a far drive from marina del ray, I would have skipped that since you just were doing downtown Disney, and gone to maybe the Grove, and farmers market. I think it would be helpful to mention how long it took to drive to certain places, from your hotel, and also where you parked and how expensive was it? I know parking is really expensive at many places you visited. Thanks for an interesting video!
The Manhattan Beach is beautiful. The stuff to do in Los Angelas would be endless. So much to do. Definitely have to drive on the coast. Great video. 👍
You guys packed in so much in 5 days! Looks like a lot of time is needed in LA to see it all. Your itinerary will definitely help visitors make the most of their time there. I just love the promenade area and your coastal drive 😊
U guys played it really safe with all the burger joints… no taco spots, Korean joints, ramen house!! I guess you didn’t want upset stomach to ruin trip 😅😅
California is on my list to travel! I would definitely see the Griffith Observatory, Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood sign, the hollywood walk of fame, and Disneyland too. I would see Universal Studios too as well as the movie studios. Im dying to see SoCal!
Wow grip itinerary, Im gonna take note of this and hopefully someday I can visit this place. The video quality looks stunning, even the night shots @4:19. The seaside walk looks very relaxing, nice weather as well. Thanks for sharing this wonderful trip.
The weather during your whole trip looked amazing 🤩 I loved seeing you try places like Dunkin and Chick Fil A. We agree that the size of the Dunkin coffees are worth it....and the Chick-fil-A sauces....YUM! You two had a great itinerary filled with a variety of activities, I am sure the time flew by. I would definitely want to visit Manhattan Beach to walk along the side walk...and to see the surfers!
We had perfect weather while we were there - we were very lucky. I wanted to bring home some Chick-fil-A sauce but my hubby told me not to lol. It's a beautiful area, we hope to go back again.
That's just 4 million in the city limits. Add everything else around the area you're pushing 10 million. Oh In and Out! A sunset on the SM pier is fantastic. Gotta love Universal. I used to always do the hike up to the Griffith Observatory. I love Firestone Brewery! I mean y'all have Tim Hortons, I'd take Tim Hortons over Dunkin any day. Gotta add the Disney visit. So many good memories in Venice. The Promenade is definitely a great spot to walk through. Ah HWY 1, we used to take that route so many times living in Oxnard and visiting family in LA.
It's a massive city - probably a quarter of the total Canadian population. I loved sunset at the pier, and yes In n Out was a must. Tim Horton's is ok - but the novelty has worn off lol. Must have been nice living there - we loved the weather compared to our Canadian cold.
Weatherwise, food and culture it's amazing. Particularly living in the beach area. It's just a pain getting anywhere due to traffic. Smog during the dry summer months can get pretty bad too.
You definitely have to come to San Pedro to catch the ferry to Catalina island....you can stay in Avalon or go to two harbors and camp and hike..🤙🌟🤷♀️
Very informative video!!! Actually planning on doing a similar trip for my honeymoon next year, if you don't mind me asking, where did you go to rent your car? I was thinking of doing it directly from LAX but hearing it's much better to go away from the airport for better pricing!
Thanks! I booked it online a few months before our trip and picked up from LAX. It was just super convenient for us that way (shuttle took us from terminal to rental place) and we got a good deal booking in advance.
Thanks! We used Uber a few times in the city and it was very convenient and easier than finding parking in a few areas. But we also rented a car for some of our trip.
We did LA and a cruise so I didn't separate the costs. Depending on flights or how you get there it could be less. Probably 2-3k without flights including a car rental, hotel, food and drinks and activities.
Yes we liked it as a base to explore the area, lots of parking and it was self park not valet which we prefer, had a nice pool area and there were even some restaurants in walking distance. Our room was pretty nice too.
Thank you so much for your reply. Do you mind telling me was it close to the beaches and Hollywood at the same time? So do you recommend we stay there? I will consider your recommendation and share with my travel agent. I’m just super worried I chose the wrong hotel. I’m taking my 16 yr old daughter abs her friend and want them both to be happy.. it seems you visited a lot of places there and you know what’s best. Thanks so much again
@@TheAverageTourist thanks so much for the help im going to LA next march and heard some terrible reviews about the sixt rental so im looking for alternatives
H@@TheAverageTourist next time go to beaches in Orange county...Huntington beach, Newport Beach or Laguna Beach....also, come to see the Friendship Bell, the Vincent Thomas Bridge, Point Fermin and the Cabrillo Aquarium in San Pedro 🌟🤙

@@TheAverageTourist Ahh that makes sense. I have done the same thing myself. Sadly in my case it was a meh experience when I visited 'Waffle House' and 'White Castle'.

I would also suggest taking the Paramount Studios tour. Seeing the I Love Lucy, Brady Bunch and Cheers sound stages.

A very nice tour of all the fast food chains offerings 👍🏼
What can I say, we love trying out new fast food places 🤣
I think you are from Canada, I'm traveling to Montreal tomorrow, I'd like to know some travel tips especially from the airport to Downtown Montreal
Don't know that Canadian love fastfood so much. At least you have free Healthcare:)
Would you recommened to avoid public transport these days? I heard its a bit risky these days...
Hey guys, lovely travel. Have you had any experience with Ubers/Lyft? Would you recommend it?
Thanks! We used Uber a few times in the city and it was very convenient and easier than finding parking in a few areas. But we also rented a car for some of our trip.
@@TheAverageTourist Thanks for the feedback. So america is not necessarily the car driving heaven, esp. if you stay inside of LA i assume?
california tradition..free birthday cakes
Nice video ❤..
LA❤❤❤❤
I want to go for 5 days but need a day for universal and Disneyland lol
Hello, is there any major driving difference? I am fine with Ontario, but it will be my first time there. I have been thinking to rent a car as well.
Not really. Just like driving the DVP or 401 but worse traffic all the time.
I wonder how much the whole trip costed you guys together? I wanna plan a trip with me and my bestie.
We did LA and a cruise so I didn't separate the costs. Depending on flights or how you get there it could be less. Probably 2-3k without flights including a car rental, hotel, food and drinks and activities.
On average, what does a 5 day excursion like this cost?
Im heading to LA next week for about 4 to 5 days. But i wont be driving, getting Uber to those places, will it be ok?
Uber should be fine we did Uber a few times. And there is also a hop on hop off bus if you're sightseeing.
What to recomment please
How much did it all cost I need an approximate figure lol I want to plan for this trip please
For the hotel, rental car, food, and activities, it was probably around 2500.
Were you happy with your stay at the Marina Del Rey hotel?
Yes we liked it as a base to explore the area, lots of parking and it was self park not valet which we prefer, had a nice pool area and there were even some restaurants in walking distance. Our room was pretty nice too.

Total cost with flight?
We also did a cruise so I don't have a breakdown for just LA. Flights were about 2k though. Hotel was around 250 per night and car rental was 600.
Is downtown worth visiting?
Not in my opinion, we found it quite dirty and didn't feel the safest.
Los Angeles will be built on Mars
Do people actually swim at the beach? The water looks so shallow and I never see anyone in the water… lol.
We saw a few people go in, but not many. It was kind of cool on our visit.

Chic fil A really? El Pollo Loco or Roscoe's would have been a better choice! I avoid big national chains when I visit a new city.
We like to try the local chains we don't have in Ontario in addition to other places that aren't chains. 👌
