- After years and years of looking in all the wrong places, I finally surrendered. It was like I had been walking in a dark forest for ages, and God said to me: "are you done? Are you willing to do it My way?"
And He was right. After years of doing things my way, I could only draw one conclusion: it's not working. Sure, I had seen success, and in some ways I was successful. But behind closed doors I was feeling increasingly miserable. The depression worsened each year. I felt small, insignificant. I seemed to pick up every kind of addiction along the way. The thought of ending my life was almost daily. It became my escape.
My crying out to God is the equivalent of this jailor in Acts 16, he cried out: "what must I do to be saved?" And in my case also, to be saved from myself..
Then Paul gives him a lengthy to-do-list..
Oh wait, no, it's only one sentence! 😱
This is what Paul says: "believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved!"(..along with everyone in your household!).
But surely, it couldn't be that simple? What about the sinner's prayer? All the terrible things in this guy's past?
Remember the murderer hanging next to Jesus on the cross? He believed Jesus was the Son of God and Jesus told him, you will be with me in paradise.
It's not our repentance that makes us right with God. It's our faith (Rom 10:4) You've done nothing to deserve it. It's His gift to you.
Believe is just another word for trust. You basically say: I trust You Jesus. I need you, I can't do this alone.
And you know what happens?
Well, I can tell you what happened to me. I was filled with gratitude, with love for this Father who I had willfully ignored all these years. There He was. Not a bad word about me or my past life. In the light of this Love I could see the mess I had made. The things I had done that'd hurt God, hurt me.
And I was committed to loving this God with all I had and have for the rest of my life. In the time after that I repented of many things. But it was a process. It took me a while to see and understand the things I had done. But when I did, I could wholeheartedly say: I'm so sorry for the things I've done. Thank You for Your forgiveness! 🙏❤️
I wanna give you something to think about. I see a lot of Christians post posts on their social media that shout: Repent!
That's not the good news. I can almost guarantee you that when you shout 'repent' like that in someone's face, it will harden them.
Don't do it. Say 'believe', and you will be saved. He's waiting for you, arms wide open. 🙌
PS Oh and do what the jailor did: get yourself baptised. You wanna drown that 'old man' (Rom 6:6) make sure he's really dead! 😉

Jes to believe is a good beginningx but it is not everything, since you have believe someone and in something to be saved, specially in the true Gospel that was preached on Pentacost. There the people asked Peter the same thing as they heard that he was crucified, burried and resurrected:

I encourage you now to read Ephesians 1-4 and ask God for wisdom revelation and understanding of what this says about Him and you. He's made you to be an over comer of all the past. You are more than able to know His truth and live above the firey darts of the enemy.

Yes!!!! To believe Jesus, we must repent of our sins (breaking God's Holy and perfect LAW). It is because of rebellion that most people never do this. They NEVER really intend to FOLLOW Jesus, they just want to steal His Kingdom. Christianity has no idea that they bear God's Name and Jesus Name FALSELY by being DISOBEDIENT to God's Law and by not FOLLOWING a perfectly obedient Messiah. True repentance bears GOOD fruit worthy of repentance......
Psalm 1 would be a good starter for Christianity.....
Or how about the Torah Laws given to the new Gentiles converts in Acts? Christianity doesn't even teach them!!!

Oh cool 4th of July and the whole new video and the book of Acts no less exceptionally good I was wondering when you were going to go there I have friends of many ages that are still saying I don't know if I'm good enough ugh I don't know why they say that and tell them always to believe and receive because you have to find some victory and what you're reading and what is going on in your prayer life with the Lord you have to celebrate that I've been blessed I have a gift of faith and people say weird things to me like you must be a better Christian than I am and I say everybody's the same in God's eyes no one's better than anyone else he loves us all the same I just know that I know that I know Even In My Darkest hours in my 69 years I know God is my savior Father Son and Holy Spirit so thank you so much for this❤ I don't do social media I'm not about likes and dislikes or anything about things like that but I couldn't stop rejoicing in the fact that here is the book of Acts end song I think it's exciting the whole Bible exciting❤

It’s not enough just to believe. One must be born of water and of the spirit as Jesus Christ said in John 3:5 KJV “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
What is that water and spirit Jesus was talking about? It is when one is baptized in Jesus name for remission of sins and receives the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 KJV “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
My question is to many of you, are you baptized in titles father, son, holy ghost or are you baptized correctly in the name of Jesus Christ?
@@Faith-Hope-In-Jesus Agreed, there is Scriptural baptism acc to Acts 2:38. I was baptized that way. BUT the general idea of this song is to show that our salvation lies not in what WE DO, but WHOM WE BELIEVE IN. In this sense, it is a great, and true song, and, to me, a wonderful interpretation of the basic idea of Acts 16. Salvation is only of the Lord.

@@Faith-Hope-In-Jesus But as far as I see it, Jesus, when on earth, always took the middle ground between the law of Moses and the love for the people. He went after those lost souls that the legalistic scribes had condemned. He fulfilled the law, yes, according to his own words, but saved those that were not capable of doing the works of the law, in themselves. Is Jesus not the heart of God, and should Christians not act the same way?

I pray that people looking for hope in Jesus Christ don't run into overly critical comments like this. The Lord Jesus didn't have a lot of nice things to say to the Pharisees. You should know better.
