Wrecks, Wheelies and Roosts at the Florence, OR Sand Dunes!!

- Come along for the ride as Steve and I ride the Florence, OR Sand Dunes on Steve's four wheelers! He has a Yamaha Raptor 700 and a Suzuki LTZ400. We ride along the beach, on the trails, and out in the open dunes. Watch us both wreck! Follow along as we find a beautiful lake, see a Coast Guard Helicopter, roost each other and Wheelie across the dunes. This was an aweome May day exploring the dunes. The sand was pristine after having several months off from any vehicle traffic due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Nice vid! My hubby and I are new to riding quads on the dunes! We are hooked!! Before we were riding up in Sisters and Shotgun Creek. Now our favorite spot is Florence! We have been 2 weekends in a row and heading back again this next weekend, hopefully for 2 days instead of just one. I have a 2006 Raptor 700R with a twist throttle. I used to race dirt bikes back in the day and miss riding them but loving my Raptor. My hubby has a bored and ported 2003 Banshee that is a dune monster! Keep riding and stay safe! I've had one good wreck so far at Shotgun creek, I went off a jump and it kicked my back end up and bucked me off. I went over the handlebars and my Raptor ran me over and we both rolled into a ditch and pricker bushes. Like you guys I just got back on and kept riding. :-)

I’ve ridden quads a couple times on the sand. It’s a workout for sure! I’ve got an early bronco that takes up most of my play time on the dunes 😎. Great video & well narrated!!

I don’t think I have the courage to ride the AT on the sand. I’ve seen others do it and it looks tough!

Looks like alot of fun I just pick up 2020 450r se how do they run out on the sand with out paddles? all I have ever ridden is Desert and track and I'm planning a trip to florence next month
Thank you for watching! I’m guessing that 450r will do excellent on the sand. The paddles are definitely helpful. If the sand is wet the stock tires will be fine. If it’s dry and fluffy you’ll have to keep your momentum up. But overall you’ll have plenty of fun on the stock tires. Paddles definitely change the game as far as getting traction.
Just watched your video with the jeep at florence. And you said you were in Philomath. Do you happen to live in Philomath? I'm in Corvallis... we should hit Florence and the quads together soon...
The Jeep lives in Philomath, it’s owned by a friend of mine. Thank you for watching! I actually don’t have any sand toys of my own. I just ride along with friends normally.
