What an amazing adventure you guys went on. I'm sorry you didn't get at least one clear day, but I thought the fog and mist made for an interesting story in itself. Just for your info only. The highest peak in south east asia (exclude indonesia because they are a group of islands), is mount kinabalu in sabah malaysia. It is about 4095 metres. It is the 3rd highest peak on an island on earth.

It does snow in Sapa once or can be up to twice a year roughly every 1-3 years. Just look at the snowy RUclips vids of Sa Pa a few years back

I've alr booked my tix to Hanoi and planning to go Sapa with my sis this end of Dec, and after watching this vlog, we'll try to remain positive no matter what weather! haha, it's all about the experience! Me and family was here at Fansipan on 17 Dec 2023. I really echo the same experience going through bad weather, strong wind that coincided with the Typhoon Jelawat heading towards Philippines. We did not expect the harsh weather but enjoyed the special moment as it was super icy blast all over. There are many temples at every point of hike up and you could take shelter which was very helpful to keep warm. Listening to the bell chimes and soothing music was very positive and inviting, so we went all the way up and walking back to the cable car station

What a pity that you couldn`t see much of the gorgeous scenery of Fansipan because of the fog and the rain. You should go back again now ( springtime ) or on Fall to enjoy the stunning landscape there . I was there in September 2019 . It was warm , but sunny and clear so I was able to admire the whole beauty of this mountain . Believe me , it`s worth a second visit when the weather is nicer .

Never heard of this place Sapa. Feels different from the rest of Vietnam.

It is in the North of Vietnam, near Cambodia!😃 We also felt that Sapa was extremely unique to Vietnam and definitely a place to visit!🤗🥳
@@NEXTCharlChristine dude, it’s close to China and Laos, not Cambodia. Sa Pa was a village of Sip Song Chau Tai (12 Lands of the Thais) and merged into Vietnam in the late 1800’s. That’s why it looks so different from the rest of Vietnam
@@NEXTCharlChristine It's wrong. Sapa town is in Lao Cai province which is next to Yunnan province(China). Both Laos and Cambodia is located in West VietNam. Laos is northwest, Cambodia is southwest. Unfornately, Sapa did not have snow in this year, although it was thick last lunar new year(up to 60cm thick).

Hi guys, I was at Fansupan on2/19 and I ran into same weather like you did. No fun so I came back same year in November and this time we were lucky. Weather was beautiful, sky was clear , sun was shinning. If you both want different experience , come back in Oct or Nov. Im from California snd it was worth it

Walking up 600 stairs in the middle of the rainy, foggy winter, you guys will stay young and beautiful for a long long time .....If you ever get the chance to go back to north Vietnam try Tam Đảo, a French resort town also up high in the mountain but closer to Hanoi. Tam Đảo is beautiful but so underrated. Videos of Tam Đảo in Vietnamese is limited so foreign tourists videos are even less.

That is february, about -6 -7 degrees. In 2021 january, Fansipan's degrees down to -20 degrees. To be honest, this month it can down to 0 degree or below, I have seen it in the weatherforecast for nextweek.
