ha! i've discovered this 'pinoy mall' exactly a month before lockdown in malaysia in february 2020, it was really chaotic but fun place to visit lol and especially if y'all wanna buy pinoy snack, their local meals or even beautician stuff imported from the phillipine, etc but yea well done Dale, this is truly what a traveling all about, exploring real gem!

As a Filipino, I'm really enjoying this video! :) The leche flan is basically a creme brulee :) This made me crave halo-halo. Good thing I'm in the UAE, where there are also lots of Filipino restos :D
@@penzo1110 yup, that's the only difference. leche flan is not burnt, but the ingredients are pretty much the same, eggs, cream, sugar, etc. Have the same taste as well.

The restaurant owner was super hospitable and accommodating. What a sweetheart! My sister in law is Filipino so I'm well aware of Ube lol. You can get ube anything, ice cream, cookies, cake, smoothies. It's such an amazing flavour, hard to describe, but it's sort of like a milky sweetness. Almost tastes like shortbread, but still doesn't quite describe it. It's so good though. It's trendy here in the Vancouver region right now, as we have a ton of Filipino immigrants. Maybe the friendliest people in the world.
One thing I like about Dale is he don't feel guilty/ashamed for bargaining the price if he think that's right, but if he meet nice people and like the service or stuff he will give a big tip for it
Wow Kota Raya has changed - it was the place to go in the 80s/90s before the onslaught of premium retail chains - now occupied by foreigners - remember going there to get cassettes - there was Victoria Records shop there before.

Also Leche flan is just milk custard like the European Flan, creme Brule, creme caramel...they were a Spanish colony (Spanish words) then an American colony after (English words).
How you interact with our fellow Filipinos who work hard there amazed me, hoping to see you here in Philippines. I also recently discovered that you are a professional poker player, which explains why you always bargain.

Only in Malaysia u can try so many difference food from others countries.. Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Burmese, Cambodia, Vietnamese, Arabic, Turkish, Western, Chinese, Indian, Malay, Japanese, Korean, Bangladeshi, Nepali, Sri Lankan, Pakistani, African and so many..
