Hi Dale, I am Sabahan. I do not recommend any tourist to go to the "Filipino market." Those people will always mark up the price when they see foreigners. rm60 for that fish & rm 12 for a vegetable? Even with cooking. That is expensive. You may think the stalls sell cheap food, but not with these "people." I am trying hard not to be racist. But really hate their attitude, dishonest people. It would be best to go to any local Sabahan seafood restaurant, like welcome seafood, near your hotel. They have a price tag and set a price per gram for fish. You can compare the price there. It should be about the same if not cheaper, at least restaurant quality & cleaner. I personally also recommend you to try: Suang Tain Seafood Restaurant and Grill Fish restaurant(shop lot in front Sutera Habour). Cheers mate.

28:50 The reason why there’s only One management now handling the Mt Kinabalu climb packages, is because a few years ago, there were so many incidents of scams happening (because private guides were allowed, and you would be able to arrange your own climb, scams were mushrooming here and there). Fake packages were advertised, to the extent of the scammer actually being in contact with the climbers group etc. After reaching the Kinabalu National Park, unfortunately, you would find out that your package never existed, and your deposit would have already been with the scammer. Another reason is for safety purposes, since the earthquake happened in 2015 and lives were lost. Now with only One management, they are limiting the amount of climbers per day, hence the more expensive fee, but it’s easier to keep track of each person’s whereabouts & safety. Prior to 2015, when private packages were still available, there were several incidents of some irresponsible climbers doing irresponsible & disrespectful activities once they reached the summit (such as taking half naked selfies, littering everywhere, vandalism of the mountainous rocks etc).
1. RM 60 for that serving i'd swallow every bones and scale that came with the fish and wash that plate to bring it home and still felt scammed... the normal price is somewhere below RM 30 for that portion, for KK roadside stall it should be cheaper. 4. they are hustlers from abroad the inbetweens so you got hustled, but they did leave you a good experience and gained few new subscribers. finger crossed it tasted decent i reckon. 5. as of now i know you're already in KL or maybe even leaving KL already, try to enjoy the developing busy wet city and keep safety as your main priority. bon voyage!

And if u ever want to stay in Romania I have a free room for you! I live in America but all my family is in Romania! I’ll fly over and meet you!
You got caught with your knickers down paying 60 ringgit for that fish , especially in Sabah. Seafood is generally 1/3 the price in Sabah because of its location.
That snapper price for 60+ ringgit is actually in the middle between cheap and expensive (for local) so i think its quite reasonable prices compared to other restaurants in West Malaysia the price could go up to 80-100...but some places in sabah might charge you a bit lower
It’s typical pricing in Malaysia for “front of market” food stalls. The blue table covering is a dead giveaway. Locals wouldn’t go here. They’ll go somewhere more out of the way and cheaper. Also, don’t let them fry the fish. It’s probably not fresh. When they steam it, they can’t hide the oldness.

The night market filled with stalls selling foods and beverages at Gaya Street is more akin to the common Malaysian "pasar malam" culture. The day market at Gaya Street documented in this RUclips video is what we Sabahans called "tamu"... Tamu is a weekly event and different districts have their own tamu open on different days... I am from Tamparuli... And the Tamu Tamparuli is opened every Wednesday... Tamu markets mostly selling various other things and very very very rarely foods and drinks... Tamu culture is not common in the peninsular Malaysia...

In Malaysia we don't call it Skotlandia as in Indonesia, we just simply call it Scotland same with English language
true!!
True. Skotlandia is Indonesian's pronunciation I guess. Please take this note Dale
Hallo from Denmark. 😊
Another interesting video. I do enjoy the way you present new places. You include a lot of aspects from the city/ area you visit. I know for sure that Sabah is not on my list of travels in the near future and I am glad to watch the ‘other’ Malaysia! 👍
Dale .. please take note that we Malaysian don't know Scotlandia.. We Malaysian call your country as Scotland, Scotlandia only use by Indonesian.. Remember that Malaysia used to be British Colony.. So English is widely spoken.. btw have a nice day in Malaysia.. Loves your videos..
I told him on the 1st night market vlog. He seems to think we are Indonesians practising his bahasa indonesia on us. We never use scotlandia, new

I was wondering why my wife enjoy watching your videos Dale. Decided to watch a few of your videos and I'm kinda hooked! Awesome content and great character u have! Keep up the good work Dale! 👍👍👍
To be honest Rm60 for that fish is pretty expensive, for that size I would only pay Rm30 for it. Anyways, hope you have fun and enjoy Malaysia food! Keep up the good work Dale! 🔥

You are so awesome with your fans and you truly take the time to make there day. And stop and give pics and love. God bless you be safe and do what you do best. You are a good man. Love you Dale!!!
Malaysian are so lovely people
it too good to watch your vlogs intrestingly i have been binge watching your vlog last 10 days and i feels i am addicted 😂
Living like a sultan with that hand fan, umbrella and foot massage Dale 😄
Dale , apparently that lady which you brushed off ( the ones talking to you about purchasing pearls and offered to pay for your fan ) was the wife of the former Top brass Chief Minister of Sabah. She keeps a very low profile and was there shopping as well. Wasted opportunity mate, she could have showed you the other side of Sabah. The person in black next to her with the shades must be her bodyguard.
he didn't understand what she was selling and didn't want any pearls
don't act like u would do differently
1. Signal Hill observatory platform used to open befor Covid
2. The Filipino market is just near the sea
3. MK is a famous Sabahan rapper, one of their friends looks likes him so they joked about it
4. The ikan 3 rasa is best to eat with rice and using a hand
5. Todak Waterfront is just near the Filipino market, its recommended to go there before sunset
6. To have better sea view, better go to Tanjung Lipat or Tanjung Aru
EDIT: the Ikan 3 rasa is expensive because they charge you more than usual, Tanjung Lipat and Tanjung Aru have way cheaper price if you wish to eat seafood

Thanks, I wondered what MK was about. Canada
I was watching this video and then my neighbour came and we watched it together. He said that this video changed his life and touched his heart. I then went and rented a projector in a big field and my entire town watched it and it changed their lives too. We all are so grateful.

1:02:36 DALE!!! U GOT RIPPED OFF HAHAHAA.. I am local. For the fish cooked with 3 choices Menu is quite expensive though, considered the fish size is very small. For Snapper 1kg here around rm18.. Include the cooking usually it is below rm30-rm35 at least. hahaha I think if u want to try seafoods, u can dine in at restaurants instead of pasar like this..
Hey Dale, always wait for your video on RUclips. I've been watching your vlogs for like more than a year now and I love them. And I love your accent too, Scottish accent.

Glad to see that you're enjoying your time in my hometown Sabah, Dale! Any chance of you paying a visit to Labuan, Sarawak or perhaps even Brunei?
75 ringgit So expensive😮, in Kelantan, Malaysia. You only need to spend 40-48 ringgit for that.

Hi Dale…..thanks for supporting Sabah FC…….
Thank you Dale for being patient with people chatting and taking photos with him. He could hardly relax at the massage chair. 😅 Your generosity is awesome.

As a guy in Malaysia,Sabah and has been to gaya street.I am honored that you've been to gaya street.
Nice Dale !! MY is one of my favourite country where I feel like visiting.
Dale in Malaysia we call Scotland not Skotlandia like indonesian. Hope you read this 🙏🏻
9:49 Haha there is a song from Indonesia called the Dangdut genre
19:29 In Malaysia they call your country the same i.e. Scotland isn't it Skotlandia That's only in Indonesia
Most locals dont go there anymore (the filipino fish stalls). You really got ripped off, that kind of fish and size should only cost around rm30. That welcomd seafood rest behind your hotel is a better option actually
Thank you Dale for inspiring me ♥️
Terima kasih datang ke sabah.Thank you Welcome to Sunday Market Gaya Street kota Kinabalu Sabah ❤️🇲🇾
Need more videos ASAP 🔥 dont getting enough of the content 💔
MK is a sabahan rapper/artist. they're saying MK to that kid because they are referring him as the artist MK as a joke but he isnt actually the artist, its because the kid copied the artist's hairtyle and maybe some of the artist's trademarks.
Awesome! We call that rosells sorrel in Trinidad 🇹🇹 it’s an amazing drink! Also I think you did get ripped off, 2R for the Juice but 50 for the fish from a market. That's a little too much!
thanks for another brilliant Vlog bro. Loved watching your recent adventures. Bet your collection of football tops is growing now. Enjoy and stay safe Kidda
Sounds like it's not for me. I want to be able to trek alone and not with a guide.
@@Dale_Philip No worries 😉 Hope you enjoyed Sabah 😊👍🏻
Always in good moods, smiling, cheering & enjoying, stay blessed always DALE

SABAH FC MALAYSIAN FOOTBALL 🎉
1. Keropok lekor is deep fried fish finger(cake, incase someone starts to make fun of my biological knowledge), the direct translation is stick shaped fried snack.
2. tiga(3) rasa means 3 flavours, which 3 i think you already knew it.
5. as of now i know you're already in KL or maybe even leaving KL already, try to enjoy the developing busy wet city and keep safety as your main priority. bon voyage!
Sabah is famous for their sea food. I visited Penang and KL several times and the food were delicious. Locals are very friendly too. Would like to visit this place soon.
Nice man dale, you’re the best from 🇲🇾
Your "Bahasa Malaysia" is improving.. Like that.. Welcome back to Malaysia man...
Keren ya malaysia , tertib dalam mebuang sampah👍👍👍, klau di indonesia orangnya masih bodo amat
In Malaysia we doesn't call your country scotlandia but we call Scotland. Thank you sir
A fish for rm60 its a scam dale. Go eat at the restaurant nmed Kk garden seafood or the other place. Bcoz Kota kinabalu popular with fresh seafood
Dale honestly looks the same since when he was a poker player!! He should go gamble somewhere sometime and show them all how it’s done!! Great content dale! I wish u safe travels.!
First view and first comment and like love from siliguri
That snapper price for 60+ ringgit is actually in the middle between cheap and expensive (for local) so i think its quite reasonable prices compared to other restaurants in West Malaysia the price could go up to 80-100...but some places in sabah might charge you a bit lower
Nah bro for me it's expensive for that small fish it's should be rm30 for that
It’s typical pricing in Malaysia for “front of market” food stalls. The blue table covering is a dead giveaway. Locals wouldn’t go here. They’ll go somewhere more out of the way and cheaper. Also, don’t let them fry the fish. It’s probably not fresh. When they steam it, they can’t hide the oldness.

As a Filipino, it's interesting to know that there's a Filipino market in Kota Kinabalu, although it's not really surprising since it's pretty close to the Philippines. And yes, I heard many Filipinos are living in KK. Would love to visit someday.
it's not surprising when actually Sabah is Philippine's territory that illegally annexed and colonized by Malaya (Malaysia) 😅 there are a lot of Indonesians and Filipinos rather than Malaya people in Sabah, that's why the language spoken there is basically Indonesian with a lil bit Filipino tonal twist
@@Ix-.-xI nope. All filipinos in Sabah immigrated after the formation of Malaysia.
@@Lekirius liar 😅 Filipinos and Indonesians are still there, and thus what you called as "Sabahan people" which literally mix of both people, you can't fool me lmao
@@Ix-.-xI Nope, you dont know nothing.. population indigenous people in Sabah about 3 million.. only 1million filipinos and indonesia living and work in sabah..
@@cgt_rtx7217 there's difference between present-day diaspora and what you perceive as "indigenous", basically what you call as "indigenous" also Indonesian in origin 😅 the people of Sarawak and Sabah are basically Indonesian before they were illegally annexed and colonized by mf Malaya (which what you call today as Malaysia).
The higher rated jersey is called player version which have much nicer material and the low priced one is a fan version
Mate you definitely get ripped off on that market.very outrageous price
What a wonderful profession for the visually impaired, as their other senses are very accurate 💖
It was worth given 100 for foot massage, lifetime experience and also they are from Sabah society. Absolutely worth it 👌🙏👍
"Scotlandia" love ya brother, but damn that confuses the people lol
That was very nice from you to give more money to that massage lady. What a man
Hello dale from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Me and my partner love watching you ur videos ❤️💯
The night market filled with stalls selling foods and beverages at Gaya Street is more akin to the common Malaysian "pasar malam" culture.
The day market at Gaya Street documented in this RUclips video is what we Sabahans called "tamu"... Tamu is a weekly event and different districts have their own tamu open on different days... I am from Tamparuli... And the Tamu Tamparuli is opened every Wednesday...
Tamu markets mostly selling various other things and very very very rarely foods and drinks...
Tamu culture is not common in the peninsular Malaysia...
Great vlog as always. Had a chuckle when you said MK and no-one responded 🙂
