It's so crazy to me that Light's response to Mikami's "we're gonna kill lazy people now" statement _isn't_ "bro that's too far"; his response is "bro that's too _EARLY_ ; we gotta kill criminals before we get to killing sloths, use ur head bro".
I don't think he meant kill kids, it's the opposite. He said they have a greater chance to change when they're younger, but once they hit high school or adulthood they're set as "good" or "bad" forever.
The tragedy of Mikami is that he clearly developed a post hoc justification for his mother's death in order to cope. If the bullies were killed via divine intervention, that meant they deserved to die. But his mom died too, so that had to have meant she was evil and deserved it. Otherwise, it was just a freak accident that left him without a mom (and maybe without a parent altogether since it seems like she was raising him alone). Of course he felt that he needed to help people that were helpless, but I don't think he genuinely locked into the full craziness of it all until he was faced with a situation that he couldn't otherwise reconcile.
One thing that got changed from the Anime to the Manga is that Mikami is narrating his own backstory, instead of a random narrator in the manga, so because of this he puts his own twisted perspective into his past, like how he misinterpreted his mother's concern as her condoning evil.

I would remove all traces of Light's actions as Kira, so we can see just how suspicious or innocent he really does seem without the context of his perspective.
Love how stupid the task force is. Light made a HUGE point of not wanting to manipulate a women's feelings back when he was mind-wiped, but now that he's back, he has no issues manipulating Kyomi, and nobody calls him on it.
At this point that was many years ago and a lot has changed, more governments have given in to kira, L died, his father died, sister was kidnapped and they've lost support from the police and have less recourses and leads. I don't think it'd be too hard for light to argue that since that point many years ago he's become more willing to do whatever it takes and that it's more necessary now than it was back then. And that's only if they remember if even heard in the first place, I don't think any of them heard that conversation between L and Light anyway
After L's death in episode 25, light openly said that Kira had to be caught to avenge all of those that suffered due to Kira, which I took to mean that he was saying that he would do whatever it takes to catch Kira to the task force, which is why his later ruthlessness wasn't questioned by the task force.
This is true of the anime, but in the manga Light claims to the task force that he doesn’t want to do that to her but sees no other way to go about it. I’ve found that the manga addresses a lot of the plot holes within the anime.
I think I just realized that "the miracle" was a freak accident that just so happened to play into Mikamis personal convictions, and that when Kira was brought to light he truly believed it was Kira who killed his mother. Timing wise though, it isn't possible. He just doesn't know that.
It's interesting that for a criminal prosecutor, Mikami has a painfully black-and-white view of the world. I'm sure being bullied had an impact on his mindset, but wanting to use the Death Note on people whose 'sin' is being lazy shows that Mikami's sense of justice is skewed at best.
@@afterimage6422 I know sloth is a sin but I put it in quotes because Kira thinks committing what he finds to be a sin warrants killing that person. The show's definition of sin is not sin in the traditional sense. Not to mention the definition of lazy can be very loose and figuring out which amount of lazy is a sin and which isn't could be very challenging.
Well, this is in japan and the justice system is pretty rough. Nearly all criminal cases that go to trial in Japan end in a guilty verdict. 99.999% conviction rate justice in Japan is pretty black and white

Mello and Near are sharing bits of information because even though they're racing to capture Kira, they still share the same goal and Near made the guess that Misa was the 2nd Kira since she was incarcerated with Light

The fact that Mikami is a criminal prosecutor means he was involved in Light's plans long before he ever got a Death Note. He's part of the justice system, it's his job and also his only goal in life to convict criminals. And as the years go on, Kira has been killing more and more minor criminals to the point where any kind of criminal charges might as well be a death sentence... it's bleak to think about.

I strongly relate to Mikami, we are similar in many ways but, in words of Dumbledore: "It isn't how you are alike. It's how you are not." While I do think my trauma helps me see more than many other people, it doesn't make me special in a sense that I could be above the law. I also have strict rules about doing vigilante stuff as long as a person can be brought to justice the legal way. I believe that some people are black and white morally but most people aren't. That the punishment should match the crime. I have a strong sense of justice but I also understand that there is no such thing outside of courts (depending on a country). Justice and fairness are purely human concepts, they're not mystical forces or forces of nature so expecting them to "work" is a toxic thing to do. It leads only to blinding frustration. The reality is that the world will always be unjust for the most part so you should simply strive to do your best and make true peace with the fact that there will not be any fairness out there except in some courts. The best you can do is to try and protect your own dignity and your humanity.

"yes, because life is like a middle school classroom" - yeeeaaah, mikami's backstory gives off emotionally stunted adult vibes. His sense of morality is so rigid and childish it makes me kinda cringe, especially the way he talks about his mother. Honestly the authors take on how Mikami became a kira worshipper is a nice inside look on how they would have written a backstory for light since they both so similar. And based on the results I'm happy light does not have a backstory, better to leave it to my imagination on how he became so idealistic, than this one-dimesional, generic write-up.
Poor Misa isn't stupid, her brain is probably just melting from all her memory wipes and whatnot. Surely it takes a toll on the mind to have one's brain erased and overloaded with information multiple times.

This is where the writing gets a little nutty. How would he even know who was being lazy? They just needed a reason for light to have to contact Mikami for the plot to happen.
Its not nutty writing, its actually good writing. Its just Mikami making empty threats to scare people. Its very akin to a dystopian society. China have similar meritocracy systems quantifying how productive and unproductive people are.
Yeah, it's stuff like this where the Anime really screwed with the source material. They kept the big moments sure, but a lot of the intrigue of DN are the smaller details connecting everything. Cutting them out only exaggerated people's issues with "part 2".
I think Mikami is right. All people fall in those categories. There really isn't any other option to fall for. The chance you end up being just neutral is impossibly small. He is also totally right that some people have no reason to exists and even worse only contribute evil. Imagine if all criminal caught or not would die. What world would we live in? One of fear and horror? No! If you think that you are a masochist that loves to be oppressed and have probably never felt real oppressions or are in a oppressively relationship of some kind where you feel you must remain to be "safe".We would live in an infinitely better place without those people around to victimize us. I didn't read it as he wanted to kill kids. I think he just tries to make it clear that reformation is basically pointless. So all this talk about prisons and having people redeem themselves are a waist of time and resources. Once a adult have committed themselves to evil, they have made their choice and they will most likely never turn back. It's basically a way for hit to shut down the idea of rehabilitation.

I'll explain more when the finale episode gets posted to YT, but since the show's over a decade old I will say the ending is kind of a let down.
7..14 7:16 you’re wrong
Ryuk (I know I misspelled it) must be a Matt Hardy fan because he keeps saying "Delete! Delete!Delete!" You've been selected for...Deletion....Delete!*swipes left*Delete!*swipes left*Delete!*swipes left*😂
You mean Mikami
You actually spelled Ryuk correctly. The problem there is Ryuk is the Shinigami not the new Kira, that's Teru Mikami lol
what happened to Appa (their dog)?
YOU GUYS SHOULD ADD HELLSING ULTIMATE to replace spy family
Code geass please 🙏
Code geass
Code geass
Lelouch V Britainia Commands you to take a break
wrong video.
i think the story should have wrapped up after Ls death, should have been someone fluke detective thing where they found out Light back then and ended the story
Honestly i think the rest is still very good aside from the bs ending that was proven impossible
16:20 your girl looks so annoyed by light the entire show 😂 relax , it's not good for your health it's juste an anime don't take it too personaL you seams hhhhh 17:12 she talked about all complexitys god , Savoir 😅, so how about your queen complex .
WOAH
The word of the day is delete

Cgi sucks tho
Wait but code geass is not the one with more views?
Haters are trying to spoil Code Geass in other videos. Pls ban these accounts
What are the names of these haters? We need more eyes screening their future comments for spoilers.
@@rauliggynashow9092 so far it's only Spectrum 90. He commented under Letts React's pinned comment in both the Death note episode 32 and Demon slayer episode 9 video
No
I hope chainsaw man is still on, i mean its a short season after all, and once thats done they can just move onto the next one, code geass. Plus chainsaw man has probably the most relatable main character in all anime (dont @ me if you dont like my opinion).
Most relatable? Clearly you've never watched Beastars. Alternatively we just have very different definitions of relatability.
@@tau-5794 i think its more on the fact that its set in a more realistic world, just minus the devils. Its set in the 90s, but denji just has more to offer when it comes to being relatable, thats my perspective anyway.
U two exactly talk at the important moments 😑
DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!
How do I cast a crap ton of votes for Code Geass?
This is where the writing gets a little nutty. How would he even know who was being lazy? They just needed a reason for light to have to contact Mikami for the plot to happen.
Its not nutty writing, its actually good writing. Its just Mikami making empty threats to scare people. Its very akin to a dystopian society.
China have similar meritocracy systems quantifying how productive and unproductive people are.
@pandaeyez2410 Mikami ain't kidding, he's dead serious.
Yeah, it's stuff like this where the Anime really screwed with the source material. They kept the big moments sure, but a lot of the intrigue of DN are the smaller details connecting everything. Cutting them out only exaggerated people's issues with "part 2".
Hoho does this mean code Geass is not chosen as part of the 2 new shows despite it surpassing all polls? T.T
Delete!
It's basically a way for hit to shut down the idea of rehabilitation.
you people are clearly biased because you know he sympathizes with light.
No one cares about Code Geass lol. Why is everyone talking bout it lol.
No one cares but everyone is talking about it...hmm
@@DigiCount Yes. I’m confused why tbh. It’s a rip-off of Death Note.
@@muhammadeyssa23648 Oh my god, what an awful take.
Whatever Code Geass ripped-off from Death Note thank goodness it wasn't Death Note's crappy ending LOL.

Light way of flirting is just saying "maybe it was fate that I met you"
Like to Naomi and Takada both time he used destiny, fate and such rubbish. In manga he even said woman love these kind of talk 😭 my misogynist king lol
