That's because they didn't. None of these people understood Star Wars. I mean Rian Johnson straight up admitted he never really watched any Star Wars, not even the movies before, and Kathleen Kennedy went on air in an interview stating that "Star Wars is a unique challenge because with Marvel and such, they have comics and games and novels and books as sources, but Star Wars doesn't have that, we have to invent everything because Star Wars doesn't have that exhaustive universe behind it like Marvel or Star Trek does" so what do you expect? George Lukas even gave them finished scripts for Episode 7, 8 and 9 and they threw it in the trash to make their own. None of the people who had any say in the sequels had any clue about Star Wars. And in case of Rian Johnson (The Last Jedi) it was especially bad because he wanted to troll on purpose to "subvert expectations", with decisions made on a whim instead of with a plan. In the making of he straight up said the only reason they had these stupid ass bombers for the attack on the Star Destroyer was because the day before he had watched a documentary on WWII and he was fascinated by the flying fortress bombers they employed there so he wanted them too. That's how little care he put into this franchise.
The build up to Luke appearing was phenomenal, and when he lifted his hood back, wow ! Tears of happiness. I couldn’t believe my reaction to R2 appearing, as well. Just an epic episode !
Right!!! So epic. I am the one in the video on the left and when they are about to show luke I am leaning forward thinking somehow I am magically going to see under the hood before he takes it off!!
Mandalorian reaction videos are now the coolest things on RUclips. I've never felt better being a Star Wars nerd than I do now. It wasn't the ony 47 years old guy bouncing off the couch as Luke cleared a hallway in Skywalker style. This was the fan service moment I'd been waiting for since 1983.
@@craigharris41 Lol, but the question you have to ask yourself is, did he actually die, or did a Marvel character's ship come across him and save him? Is Dave a Skrull? 😎✌🤣🤣🤣🤣 #SecretInvasion #SecretWars
Its wonderful that real fans knew it was going to be Luke, but the real tears came from understanding that the showrunners gave THE FANS something for once and not the shareholders. That was a fan move by a fan for only the fans. Thats what made it so great. We all know deep down that it was the type of fan service we dream about and talk about in between cons. I still cannot actually believe they did it, then R2 comes out and its like YOU SOBs! You amazing thank god we have you SOBs! Merry christmas! May 4th 2021 will be a day to remember. This moment was wonderful. I love how everyone reacts the same, with pure delight while being in awe. It was like seeing old and beloved friends after 37 years again. Thank you for uploading 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
It’s brought me a lot of joy seeing everyone react in such a positive way to this amazing and unexpected Luke cameo. This is the first time I have felt like Star Wars has a future for a long time. Happy days.
Same here. I'm the one on the left in the video. Red 5 red 5!! I was 5 and SW is the first movie I remember as well. As you can see I go right back to being a kid. :)
Excellent reaction. "This brought back my childhood!" would be the cry of everyone over the age of 40 who saw the original trilogy in the theaters, like I did. It certainly is mine. From your glee at seeing him, it is yours too. :D It also shows just how freaking powerful Luke is right now in the SW timeline. Only Vader and Yoda were more powerful, but they are both gone. I mean, Din was getting thrown around and smashed by just one.. ONE! Dark Trooper, and barely won with that Beskar spear. Now, here comes Luke, sauntering in, and demolishes an entire platoon of them (which is about 50 or so), with minimal effort using a lightsaber and The Force. They were little more than animatronic mannequins at Disney World to him. :)
The dark trooper droids are force sensitive and when Luke showed up they’re like, “Dang, that’s a big one!” They cast Max Lloyd for Mark’s body double with a combination of cgi and old 86 footage.
Yeah, given that Luke at that point was basically the New Republic version of Darth Vader it would have made sense to programm any battle droid to make him target number one. To the remnants of the empire, at least according to his legend, that dude pretty much beat the empire more or less on his own. He took down the Death Star, he took down Vader AND Palpatine both at the same time on his own, i mean noone survived to tell that Vader betrayed Palpatine, right? They just know Luke, vader and Palpatine walked into a room and only Luke came back out alive.
I keep watching reactions to this episode to share in the enjoyment of watching so many adults become that inner child, if only for a moment....it's a beautiful feeling. I know...because I felt it too.
This popped-up in my list again today. What a joy it was to relive that wonderful moment again with you ladies. Looking forward to viewing Ahsoka with you!
Thank you for this. I'm the only one in my family who's up to date on the mando so I've got no one to share this with and I NEED to let out some of the emotion. I full on cried watching this episode from the sheer explosion of emotions.
Two days in a row I am watching reactions of fans to this episode and it's so pure and amazing to see the child within each one of you showing out in tears of joy, that's magic! 2020 not that bad after all. :D
I commonly refer to this special moment in time as the Nuclear Synchronized Nerdgasm” I love how every reaction for the most part has been the same including mine. It all starts with initial confusion, immediately followed by doing a mental checklist of possible Jedi WHILE processing about 12 different emotions at once, followed by chills and adrenaline and then just pure jubilation. And if you’re a true Star Wars fan....you’re gonna cry regardless, whether seeing prime Luke being epic, the face reveal, Grogu’s/Mando’s farewell or R2.
Of so many reactions, loved yours the most!!! Thanks for sharing. I saw it alone last week and was reacting with neighbors wondering what the heck was going on :-)
Came to check for Bad Batch E3 (which was so hard hitting 😭) and saw this. It will always be my favorite reaction from you guys because it's how I found you. I can say hands down that I have watched every single reaction to this episode on YT and this is still my favorite. Love you guys. Now Edith hurry up and edit E3. Can't wait to see your reactions!
That was such a lovely watch. Also... Grogu might not die at the temple. Those events happen 20 ish years after this episode plus Kylo only kills the Jedi students who chase after him. The temple is actually destroyed by Palpatine using force lightning. They won't kill Grogu off, he's too popular and loved.
@@remoterebels2 the last 3 movies are going to be scrapped in the story direction that they are now going in. That Temple thing will probably unfold a lot differently now.
As we are in 2020, and a lot of people seems in total denial of reality, without issue, on far more important matter, I've chosen to do just that. And I now live in a world where the sequels never happend and this is the first time I see Luke in live action since 1983. The rest is just fake news.
Fun fact, there is a theory that Palpatine was not killed by Vader, but entered something called the veil of shadows or something, basically creating an alternate timeline. The sequels never happened, that is what this show is trying to do. "He is strong with the force, but talent without training is nothing" - Shots fired at Rey by Luke Skywalker. "It takes years to control" - Shots fired at Rey by Ahsoka.
Y'all are so fun!! Thank you for sharing all of this. We really love hearing everyone's perspective. I'm sitting here smiling and shouting red 5 red 5!!

I cried with joy & sadness at the end of Season 2 .... and then watching your reaction video did the same to me AGAIN ! A truly a cathartic episode ...... it was like Jon and Dave gae us our childhoods back in the form of OUR Luke Skywalker (and Artoo) !
I'm glad I'm not the only one that got just as emotional over R2-D2 as I did seeing the green saber and single black glove. lol I even recognized Rogue 5 as it slid in the bay ;)
These reaction videos really help me because I called it to myself back in the Ashoka episode. I thought, "Who else is important enough to pick up Grogu?" So I wasn't surprised. Dang! But these videos bring the real misty eyes and full cheers out of me that I needed the first time. Thanks!
Thank you!! We appreciate it so much! It is so neat to hear you say we brought you cheer. We didn't expect so many people to comment and be so kind. I love the SW community. I am glad you are a part of it!
I did that so many times too after the Ahsoka ep but I would talk myself out of it saying "They couldn't do that" lol I was very wrong and very happy to be wrong
I can’t stop watching these. I needed this after how shitty 2020 was. I love the lady on the left and how she is so excited that when she is listening for “red 5”, she totally misses the music totally giving him away lol. That was great. Stay awesome lady on the left!!
I've seen a consistent flow of reaction tears for this episode, just a brilliant episode! I must say that Ludwig Goransson just killed it with the musical score... powerful stuff!!
Totally agree! Wouldn't have been the same with the scores! I especially loved when the Dark Troopers were marching down the hall and punching the wall!
Did you notice the Battlestar Galactica references? Those Dark Troopers were Cylons for sure. The launch of the Tie Fighter was from Galactica Vipers lunch too (Viper as the Galactica's fighter ships, not the Pedro Pascal from GOT hehehe). And also when Bo-Katan lands the ship, was like Katee Sackhoff's Starbuck landing a Viper. That episode was a clear Katee Sackhoff homage to Galactica. And I loved! ♥
Right!! Thank you! I'm the one on the left and every year when we watch elf when Jovi starts singing in central park I tear up even though I've seen it hundreds of times. Edith and I watched elf the night before so it was two zingers from Jon within 24 hours.
I hope you know that I love that made you smile. I was freaking out!! And she asked for the call sign so i thought he would say. But nooooo made me wait until I could see the green light saber.
The beautiful innocence both of you showed and shared to the world was fantastic. I think Amanda might be your name. Otherwise the one with red hair. Your eyes and facial expressions were so pure. You still have those wonderful dreams and ideals for the galaxy all these years later. I had a wonderful time watching your reactions. They were so beautifully joyous and pure. ❤
By the way, that is not Sebastian Stan even though he offered, actor who is Mark's body double is British actor named Max Lloyd-Jones. CGI effects superimposed Mark's younger face on Mark. But Mark dubbed his voice. It is the same software used for Rogue One too.

I must've watched about a dozen of these reaction videos now, I just can't get enough of them. SO SO GOOD! From the "one x-wing?" penny-drop moment in everyone's minds (yeah I thought it was the X-Wing Police too, until I reminded myself where this series sits in the Star Wars universe timeline), to the cloak walk, to the green saber, to the Rogue One corridor moment, to the hood-reveal. The CGI in his face is a bit glitchy, but I'm so so glad they went that way and de-aged Mark Hamill instead of using Sebastian Stan. Well done Favreau, you rekindled the fire in the hearts of the original Star Wars fans in a way that the official sequels could only wish for. Oh hey ladies, I hope you stuck around for a few more minutes :D
This is how you nostalgia, without it being forced or for the sake of just being nostalgic. This scene was brilliantly made and felt organic. That is why the sequels failed, they forced too much, and relied on nostalgia too much.
Thanks!! It was a great episode! They were very creative to use the black & white footage so we didn't know immediately what color the lightsaber was even tho it was killing us lol
1:52 - that should've been the moment they switched from black and white CCTV footage to show that the lightsaber was green. The music at that point was particularly powerful.
Honestly, The Mandalorian is the most Star Wars-ey Star Wars we have gotten since Disney took over. It's glorious. Every episode makes it clear that the people who made this know their stuff. Unlike the people who made a certain trilogy....

I don’t know the history of your channel or if you two are related or not. But this reaction reminded me of when I was a kid watching the original trilogy with my dad at the theaters - all the way home we would be hyped up reenacting every scene from memory. (he died in 98) or even watching Mando with my now young adult kids. I was definitely like the woman on the left of the screen. My 19 and 20 year old boys like the woman on the right. Off all the reactions out there- this felt the most like my family’s reactions. I actually cried thinking of how dad would’ve loved this series. I cried when Luke showed the traits of “my Luke” from my generation. And that dirty rotten Favreau after pulling off this tear jerker of Luke....just when everyone is calming down and saying “ok the worst is over - I won’t cry anymore”- that mad sadistic genius grins at all of us and says “ok now hit them with R2”😂😂😂😂. @@remoterebels2 I had to watch again for another smile. I swear I was yelling at the screen when cara said “great a single x wing we are saved”.... I was coming out my seat saying “Ma’m- that’s no ordinary X wing- that’s Red 5- just sit back, buckle up and enjoy the ride”. my son is now 19. But when the trailer for TFA came out all those years ago- you would’ve thought I was the kid when the Millenium Falcon part of the trailer hit the screen. My kids now all work and go to secondary schools. But this Father’s Day- they pitched in and bought me a bunch of Star Wars stuff for my work office. Including.....a funco pop of the millenium falcon. I cannot wait for the pandemic to be over and we all go back to the office so I can proudly display it. You both just struck me exactly how my family and I act when we find something we all like and bond over. My dad too bought me all the Kenner toys as a kid. (I somehow wish I would’ve realized their worth back then😂). Had everything including the Death Star! Back when the lightsabers were still inside their arm. Of course pieces turned up missing, pieces broke etc, but the memory of my dad getting in the floor and playing with me with those toys is far more valuable than still having them. Thanks again you two. As I get a little older I truly do believe in the adage that “happiness is seeing others happy”- and I definitely saw my own happiness watching you two. Now bring on Ewan and Obi Wan! That man is so good at “playing Alec Guinness playing Obi Wan”. The man deserves twice the salary since he’s playing two roles in one for the most part😂😂😂. @@megatronsfury8048 "The Sequels were intended to be another Disney empowerment moment, look at all the insanely ridiculous female characters who actually are hollow as an Easter Egg that did pretty much nothing of value but were always in charge or seemed to be the focus. That Rose girl they partnered up with Finn who ruins him being awesome because of friendship... or love, The woman with the purple hair who ruins every other scene in The Last Jedi and finally does what could have been done immediately and sacrifices herself to damage the chasing fleet. Rey who is beyond useless for most of the 3 films. It was all to get more girls into Star Wars (which is a brilliant idea) however it was done in a patronizing forced way, none of that was empowering.
The male characters were even worse. All 3 of those films are both an insult to cinema and to Star Wars, I've never met a real fan of them who isn't some walking, talking stereotype snowflake"
The old extended universe that disney threw out had plenty of cool female characters, that were much better, as well.
@@megatronsfury8048 And this episode proves that you can do girl power right it just has to be done with well written characters who have purpose and meaning to the mission When the girls were taking over the ship I wasn't thinking Female empowerment I was thinking this is badAss Cara dune And Bo katan fuckin shit up
That's because they didn't.
@@remoterebels2 exactly my reaction ! Edge of my seat, then YES !!!!!!!
Right!! I am 47 too and the one on the left in the video. What a moment!!
To think Iron Man's head of security was so knowledgeable in Star Wars!
Hahahaha lol!! For real!!
Or Pete Becker from friends
He died in Deep Impact and Marvel got em'.
@@craigharris41 Lol, but the question you have to ask yourself is, did he actually die, or did a Marvel character's ship come across him and save him? Is Dave a Skrull? 😎✌🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wear a mask, stay safe and may the force be with everyone.
Thank you and totally agree!!
This moment was wonderful. I love how everyone reacts the same, with pure delight while being in awe. It was like seeing old and beloved friends after 37 years again. Thank you for uploading 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Exactly!! I love that SW allows me to revert back to being a kid.
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for the kind words
Can't get enough of these reaction videos! Love your enthusiasm!! ♥
Thank you!! We are having a blast!! May the force be with you. :)
It’s brought me a lot of joy seeing everyone react in such a positive way to this amazing and unexpected Luke cameo. This is the first time I have felt like Star Wars has a future for a long time. Happy days.
Truly happy days!! Thank you so much.
I’m here for all of these reaction videos. Amazing
I was 9 when I saw Star Wars, the first movie I remember seeing in a theater. Seeing that reveal at the end broke me, my eyes are still red.
For sure. Obviously I'm thinking of Legend's which isn't exactly canon but Luke in his prime, there's not many that come close to him.
Oh yes yes yes. I am 47 and SW is the first movie I can remember seeing in theater. Thank you so much.
Thank you! And the dark troopers I know I even say "y'all are dead" when luke shows up LOL
It's so nice to see your reactions. Thanks for that.
So sweet! Thank you!
Hopefully you ladies got to see the post-credit scene...
Oh we did! She posted us running back to the living room and our complete spaz out in another video.
This episode truly brings out the kid in all of us! We finally got the Luke Skywalker we deserve!
YESSSSS!!!
The dark trooper droids are force sensitive and when Luke showed up they’re like, “Dang, that’s a big one!”
They cast Max Lloyd for Mark’s body double with a combination of cgi and old 86 footage.
Wow!! Edith figured that out too. I was like did they turn around?? Hahahhaha
Cried at Elf !! hahahaha Your reaction was my reaction to this... Love from the UK
Lol!! Elf gets me every year!! As soon as they start singing in the park here come the tears. Thank you for your kind words. Love from Texas!! :)
Thank you!
Thank you for this. I'm the only one in my family who's up to date on the mando so I've got no one to share this with and I NEED to let out some of the emotion. I full on cried watching this episode from the sheer explosion of emotions.
Awww that is exactly why we post these because love enjoying SW with other fans who understand what we go through and the world we live in :)
And thank you for sharing with us!!! Edith and I are loving all this love. Star Wars fans are the best!!
Awesome reaction. I love seeing fans reacting to this. Such an great scene!
Thank you so much +
This is probably the only moment I can finally set my peace with 2020.
Agreed!!!!
Two days in a row I am watching reactions of fans to this episode and it's so pure and amazing to see the child within each one of you showing out in tears of joy, that's magic! 2020 not that bad after all. :D
Right! and Thank you we appreciate that since we just do it for fun
Thank you. Yes the child in me quickly returns when it comes to SW!! So fun.
Day 10 for me !
Right!! Nerdgasm... love it!!!
I love the description and so true!!
Can I just say that you guys are adorable. I loved watching hard core SW fans reacting to this and this reaction is one of my favorites!
Yes you can :) Favorites? Color me flattered!!
Of so many reactions, loved yours the most!!! Thanks for sharing. I saw it alone last week and was reacting with neighbors wondering what the heck was going on :-)
The most?? Wow. Thank you! That moment was something we will never forget!

That reaction of red hair lady at 5:10 when din asked "are you a jedi?" was great😂😂😂❤️ @Remote Rebels

Omg that almost made me cry!!! You're so awesome! And EP 3 is up now 😁😁😁
That was such a lovely watch. Also... Grogu might not die at the temple. Those events happen 20 ish years after this episode plus Kylo only kills the Jedi students who chase after him. The temple is actually destroyed by Palpatine using force lightning. They won't kill Grogu off, he's too popular and loved.
Thank you for saying that. I have been so worried.
You are too sweet! Thx for putting my worries at ease
Also those movies didn't happen so... 🙃

Wow. That makes us smile. Thank you so much.
How about he just pretend the sequels aren’t canon and this is a different timeline
As we are in 2020, and a lot of people seems in total denial of reality, without issue, on far more important matter, I've chosen to do just that.
And I now live in a world where the sequels never happend and this is the first time I see Luke in live action since 1983. The rest is just fake news.
Of course the sequel is a different timeline, that's Jake timeline
@@BowlofIndoMee "Jake Soywalker" from the sequels will never be Luke Skywalker.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that got just as emotional over R2-D2 as I did seeing the green saber and single black glove. lol I even recognized Rogue 5 as it slid in the bay ;)
Beautiful reaction ladies. The Force will be with Us, Always.
i can't get enough of these reactions i am right there with you
I lost it when I saw R2-D2 and Luke in the elevator at the end. The nostalgia was just too much to bear.
Bahahaha love it! she's awesome lol
This is prime "you just had to be there" moment.

Thank you. We did not know that and appreciate you telling us. That is very cool!!
Amazing reaction. Thank you for sharing :)

When you said that you cried watching Elf and cried during this...I felt that.
Right!! Thank you! I'm the one on the left and every year when we watch elf when Jovi starts singing in central park I tear up even though I've seen it hundreds of times. Edith and I watched elf the night before so it was two zingers from Jon within 24 hours.

The beautiful innocence both of you showed and shared to the world was fantastic. I think Amanda might be your name. Otherwise the one with red hair. Your eyes and facial expressions were so pure. I could see that little girl in the theater completely giving her heart to Luke and his story. She was willingly completely devoted to those ideals being told in the story.

So I was watching this on my phone. (Don’t have RUclips login on it)....so I immediately jumped to my IPad after watching you all. That way I could comment. Anyways. I wanted to thank you for posting such a genuine and heartfelt reaction. I yelled Red 5 as well. Again thanks for being so genuine like the millions of us normal viewers who don’t professionally post.
You are too sweet! We don't have an official channel we just do this for fun/ being silly. I appreciate your comment it means so much and makes it worth it to put this out in the world to enjoy with other SW Fans! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your beautiful words
I am the one on the left and reading your comment brought tears to my eyes. I really appreciate you taking the time to share this with us. My brother passed away in 2012 and my mother passed away in 2013. And I was so sad for so long until edith said Disney bought SW and joy returned to my heart. And during that episode same thing for me. I thought of my mom standing in the long line at the toy store waiting to be called to buy each action figure for me so I would have them for Christmas. I still have them all in the Darth Vader case!! Again thank you so much for sharing with us. Means the world to us.
Have a blessed holiday season
It made me cry too it’s like for a brief moment movies episodes 7,8,9 didn’t exist at all.🤩😭🤩😭🤩
That was epic! I could not hold the tears back and my breathing did not help at all. I am the worst self soother.
The reaction of the woman on the right at 6:22 completely broke me... There are a lot of emotions when R2 appears.
