Sir, even my car coolant level is also below the low level mark. Can we use normal distilled water to top up? Or we have to top up the coolant in authorised showroom?? Kindly suggest me....
You can buy the coolant in online shot and be refilled by yourself .

You can use any engine oil that meet VW 502 00 specifications such as
1. Shell helix Ultra 5W 40
2. Catrol edge 5W 40
3. Mobil 1 5W 40
4. Castrol Megnatec professional B4 / OE 5W40
While topping up you have to be very careful that you should not overfill... If the Engine oil is above the max level it will cause serious damage to the Catalytic converter. Please don't topup more than 0.5 litres at a stretch...

I accidentally droppea a coolant bootle seal looks like a silver foil while topping up it fell inside and tried to reach adding distilled water but it disappeared but just a small one like coin will cooling flush out totally removes that silver foil

In an emergency situation I showed my car in a normal garrage & they filled my coolant with the normal water & I drive my car about 250 km with that.....now I want to visit to authorise workshop which is around 60km from my home.... should I refill my coolant with the distilled water or I can drive my car with the water filled in the coolant?

Dont use water use distill water if u r refilling coolent again again thn u should go for mechanic check ur engine once

Dilip.. A quick question.. Last time when I gave my Polo GT for the 1st free check up@7.5k kms, I was allowed to stand near my car while the check up was being done. The technician at EVM Volkswagen, Trivandrum just topped up the coolant tank with normal water. Was it a right thing what he has done? In that case, shouldn't I get the entire coolant flushed out next time? Please advise.
+Ranjith Narayanan if he has topped up with normal water, then the entire coolant needs to be flushed out. New coolant should be refilled.

+abe varghese.. Seriously I never expected the guys at the authorised VW service centre to do such kind of things that day. I did not bother about it much just coz of my ignorance. Last day, after seeing Dilip's video, I did a quick cross check on the owner's manual, which clearly states not to add any other fluids except distilled water and that too under emergency circumstances, where in the coolant fluid isn't available anywhere around. Now I understand how those folks at VW extract money and make profit from their customers. Such kind of malpractices shouldn't be encouraged further and must be reported to their customer support, just like the way I did yesterday (even though it wouldn't be of much use, they would still continue to be the same). Dilip, thanks a lot for throwing some light on this. Much appreciated!!!

I have a doubt regarding the papers of vehicle.I registered my new car with concerned RTO and I got my number plate fixed on car.but now I have my insurance paper only,wth number plate fixed ,Can I cross state without Rc ?it takes 2 months to arrive my RC .if no what are the papers I needs to keep.
+Vijil Krishna for me also it took 45 days for receiving my RC. Till that time I used the insurance & invoice copy as my papers. To drive within the state that's enough. I am not sure whether any other papers are required to cross state.

+Mayank Joshi the coolant expansion tank is located on your right side if you stand in front of the bonnet. It is inbetween the engine and the battery. It has a green cap. To read the engine coolant level in your Swift, you have to stand sidewards near your right side headlight of the car. You can read the min and max marks clearly.
sir is vw has a model called VOLKSWAGEN POLO R-LINE.

+ABK Complete Biker for removing mild scratches you can use scratch removal kits. Just search 'com-paint scratch removal pack' in Amazon. For each colour of the car, the scratch removal kit is different. Select according to the colour of your car. These kits are also available in most of the car accessory shops.
Please be careful while using those kits in your car... Read the instructions in the package and follow it... You can easily remove minor scratches by yourself.

+samgram venkata my friends VW polo is also 2011 model Diesel TDI Variant and has completed over 100000 kilometres. It is also in good condition. The Engine life will not be an issue and it will run upto 200000 Kms... Please check whether the car was maintained properly... Because repair cost is high as VW spare parts are expensive...

dilip sukumar quick question about engine oil. Does diesel engine require engine oil top ups in between service period of 15 k kms?
+Manjeet Singh Dahiya it doesn't require any top up at ideal driving conditions. If the Engine is stressed for a very long distance in summer or if the car is mostly used in hills, engine oil consumption is higher than normal. Only during such conditions, a top up is required.
