Preparing Ma & Pa 27 for Steaming

  • As a fan of the Maryland and Pennsylvania railroad, I constructed a 7 1/2" gauge model of their ten wheeler number 27. This video shows the steps taken to test, service, and steam this live steam engine. The engine was constructed using Little Engines driver castings, and Allen Models cylinder castings. Almost everything else was fabricated in my shop. Unfortunately, the prototype locomotive was scrapped in 1952, But its memory lives on on our Forest & Western Railroad in Forest, Virginia.

      The challenge is to find ways to keep doing the things you love and to keep motivated to do them!
