Actually, these have lots of differences from the older versions, mostly related to the colors. The new skin is more warm and 'fleshy,' as the older models have more pale, yellowish skin. The clothing is now very mat on the new models, much less glossy than before, and the shades of colors are quite different (for example Moon's boots are now almost magenta, as before they were more red). The details are all much more refined, such as the stripes on the collars. The elbow and knee joints seem the same, but their 'private' areas are much improved and refined, and the under-skirt leg sockets are a new style. And the hands now connect to little balls, rather than those dangerously thin 'sticks' on the original figures. And the stands have different logos. Maybe a few other things? If you are total Sailor-Moon-crazy, you should get all the new ones. And the hair colors are different, most noticeably on Sailor Moon. Version 1, she has very yellow hair; version 2 has more golden, orangey colored hair. Mars' hair looks blacker (was a bit blueish before). Honestly, I have only older versions here, but have seen the new versions at the store, and on other videos; my new Mars has not arrived yet. But most of the above is probably rather correct...?
Yes, majority of the changes are the colouring and texture appearance but I didn’t know about the joints. Thank you for sharing. I really do hope they won’t release a new mold in the next 3 years since that will make me cry but looking forward for the Uranus 😃 I was only planning to get her and Neptune but my blog is exploding with sailormoon fans so I might need to get all 5 and review them. By the way since sailor scouts and warriors are all named after a planet (and for some reason the main protagonist is not a planet but a moon), is there sailor earth in any of the series?
I agree when collecting figures of a team of characters it makes sense to get the whole team and not just one. Power rangers and sailor moon are perfect examples of this in my opinion
Wait until you get to the sentinel ronin warrior figures. They’re like $150 or more for 1! Almost a grand for the entire team is crazy. With these sailor moon figures, I get them at the official tamashii store for around $30 a pop, so these are not too bad.
These new packaging are awesome!! Originally I have no plans on getting them as I have the original sets, but these packaging are hard go resist! Thank you for this video. I'll support your channel too. Subscribed.

Finally someone who show the figure can stand by themselves. I'm discovering Sailor Moon, I fall in love with the characters (especially Jupiter and Mercury). I want to buy some extra stuff, like poster, but I didn't planned to buy figures. But doing photography during my free time, I imagined several way to stage the figures on photos. Now I have a good idea of the quality of the figures, I think it's time to make a big hole into the bank account 😄 Just, what are the height of the Jupiter's figures ? It will be useful to prepare one of my idea.

Sorry for the late answer, Jupiter is 7.5” up to the top of her ponytail but she’s actually 7” without that. Mercury and everybody else are around 6” :) Hope it helped :D
@@toyboxphoto6485 well a bit taller than I thought. I'm doing photography, so I imagined several scenario to stage the figure and take some creative photos. For several case I imagined using cube LED lamp, to make a colored background or to stand the figure against them. Tiny model are cheap but bigger one are quite more expensive. I'll need to budget this, It may take longer than I expected 😄 Thank you for the informations
These were released not so long ago but they are using exactly the same molds used very long time ago (2013) and that’s why a lot of us were expecting a brand new figures rather than a simple repaint. Especially when Bandai only needs to make one new body mold for the entirety of the sailor scouts which is easy yet profitable. And the movie just came so those who bought this repaint versions will be disappointed if Bandai does a screw attack and make a new mold anytime soon. But since Bandai isn’t like hasbro, I am sure they won’t release any new molds for another 5 years or so. Btw, even when the figure is dated, it’s still a nice figure. And I do like the new repaint as the colour pops more :)
